I know this video is a few months old, but I was scrolling through and watching your video reminded me of when I switched to criminal justice late in my college career. I graduated back in 2008 with a criminal justice degree and it took almost a year before I landed a job working in a juvenile detention center as a PRN. I picked up various shifts, and was just working my through. After leaving that job, I moved to the DC metro area looking for opportunities in Criminal Justice. I picked up a similar job working PRN at a residential facility with adults who have substance abuse issues, and while working there I was applying for jobs as well as going for my master’s. Fast forward a few years, I work full time helping incarcerated individuals transition back into society, and still working that PRN. I say that to say this: if you are looking for a career in criminal justice, look for opportunities, then think about your career. A social science degree can separate you from others because it establishes that you are a critical thinker, have the knowledge, skills and the abilities to perform, and that you can write as well. Volunteer, intern and seek part time work if you are having trouble getting into those doors.
this was so helpful and inspiring, i want to get a bachelors in criminal justice, english, and sociology and then i want to go to law school. im already really passionate about human rights and activism and this video jut confirmed for me id be making the right choice if i went, thank you
Hi girl!! I been wanting to reach out to you. I also have received my AA in criminal justice and transferring. I been doin go line classes that will transfer to a online private university school for BA. But I been thinking that i should maybe move out and do a cal state since they are in person. How did you do it working part time and school full time. Because for me it’s been the other way around. How do you maintain your own apartment? I live with my parents and it’s been a stress doin online especially with covid and not having my own room? I admire your success. And watching your videos has jus motivated for me to not give up. Hope to hear back from you girl :)
I’m deciding if I want a masters in criminal justice or sociology ? The only job I see for both is teaching at a college . Can you make a video about the different job fields ?
i just watched your other video along with this one i loved it, but i was wondering what universities would you consider for me to transfer to where i could get a bachelors degree of science in criminal justice
I'm actually about to enroll into early college as a sophomore in highschool at age 16, but the thing is idk if criminal justice is the path I need to take to be let's say someone who's into forensics or csi. I guess I'm just very confused on what to do before I enter in January..
I'm working on two bachelor degrees in criminology and psychology at the same time. Perfect blend for the resume. I think it's important that college students be as creative as possible, with the intention of "Being different". Two degrees, psych minor, multiple associate degrees, worked full time in the field since freshmen year, a mix of jobs on the resume. I'm babbling lol 😆
Unfortunately you spent 16 minutes repeating yourself. I did watch the whole video but do a video about your new position and what you doing with your degree. Ethics, guidelines, morals are all basics that ppl should know
