Hey Nate, so as your consultation is too expensive for me right now (and btw that's totally cool as this is your time and I value you), it would be amazing to have perhaps a cheaper version 'intro' consultation just so more people have access to you and get "off the ground" and then pay you your regular price from then onwards. I'd love this, get to meet you, be more affordable and then i'm very likely to come back and purchase the regular price for your consultations when I have the money (start seeing success) meaning recurring revenue from each client for you. I'm already seeing lots of progress thanks to Income School with you, you are a legend Nate! Thx, keep going.

As a small UA-camr, my strategy is simple yet powerful: stay authentic, true to my values, and always be open to learning new things. In this fast-developing world, some values remain timeless-freedom, love, care, and compassion. Let's hope that all small channels continue to grow, prosper, and make a significant impact on the world!
Very good. However, unfortunately, TITLE THUMBNAIL HOOK is crucial… I hate that.. but I think I will start doing the marketing stuff. I can do authenticity after all these crucial steps
Welcome back! I would love a program that would just give me really honest feedback: “this is why your video/channel isn’t doing well. Change this!” Etc.
i have over 140,000 subscribers & UA-cam was my full time job since 2010, and NOW im about to become homeless, all my time, effort, blood , sweat and tears down the drain all for nothing, all due to youtube changing up the website way to many times, youtube used to send out numerous notifications a day now they only send out 3 a day, plus the algorithm is messed up as well, half my subs dont even get my videos anymore, its sad that this was my full time job now ill be homeless living in a tent in a couple of weeks! Unreal! as much as i love my subs and fans, it goes to show you that it doesn't matter how many subs you have in 2024!
I'm really sorry to hear about your situation. It's heartbreaking to see how platform changes can impact creators so drastically. I hope things turn around for you soon. Maybe exploring other platforms or diversifying your income sources could help? Wishing you all the best and hoping for a positive change in your circumstances
UA-cam shows your vids to people interested in those topics at that time so if they subbed years ago but don’t want that type of content anymore it won’t be shown. Especially since it’s been 14 years. Hope you get back up soon!!
I got the subscribers, now I’m working on my watch time. The problem for me is putting out more content. If I put out weekly or twice a week, I would be there quickly. But it’s rough with my twice a month schedule. I’m gonna work harder this year to put out more content and film more stuff at one time so I can have a catalog of things to release.
"How to take an established channel and move it into the next level of performance when things have plateaued" - this is what I would be interested in. However, it may just mean that I need a consultation.
I don't have as many views and subs and you but I looked at your channel and can give you some critiques (from a viewers perspective) if you like. I usually watch a bunch of "channel reviews" from VidIQ and can take what they usually recommend and apply it to your channel. Video Ideas and Thumbnails come first. If you look at the thumbnails of your most recent videos and compare them to your most popular videos, there's a difference. Your popular thumbnails were easy to read, big text, understandable, and conveyed what the video was about without "spoiling" the video. Meaning they have enough intrigue and curiosity to click. Your most popular videos also cater to a broader audience. I think you may have niched down too far into things most people wouldn't understand. Like I didn't know what SHTF meant until I looked it up. If you have a title that's abbreviated with no context, people won't know what it is and not click. For example, your video on "Backup Micro Kits for SHTF". Idk what a micro kit is, and Idk what a SHTF is, and I see a picture of a kit but I don't know what it relates to and why I need it. I think a better title would go along the lines of "Don't Be Caught Without THIS When Doomsday Happens!". Then the thumbnail can still have the Kit in it, but have a picture of a like nuke, or something that communicates "end of the world". I have to go for now but let me know if you would like more feedback later! Good job on the success of your channel! Hope to be there one day.
I have a super small channel with 66 subs. I uploaded my first breakout video 5 days ago. It's performance is completely blowing away all of my previous videos, but it's had the opposite effect on my confidence. My personal bar seems to be so high now. I feel like I can't go higher and build on the momentum. I'm afraid to fail with my next video, and honestly, I'm kind of frozen in fear. Your advice to play on the edge of my comfort zone is so timely and I'm going to lean into it - Thanks Nate!
8. "Hi I’ve reviewed your channel and noticed a few areas where small tweaks could make a big impact. Let me know if you’d like me to share my insights!"
Hi Nate, just wanted to show my appreciation. I really love the way how you address the topics in your videos. It's going in-depth, most often on a motivational way or explaining the psychology behind the viewer and you as a creator, which is a really good perspective. It's more than just "oh do this to achieve this", but actually also explaining the "why" behind it all. Since I'm always interested in the "why" behind certain strategies and decisions, your channel is the best source of education for me. For all the other people reading this, keep up your good work, we'll get there eventually!
One of the biggest challenges I'm facing with my channel is audience engagement. While my subscriber count is steadily growing, I notice that my videos often receive minimal views and very few comments. I put a lot of effort into creating content that I believe my audience will love, but it can be disheartening when there's little interaction or feedback. It feels like I'm missing the mark in terms of what resonates with my subscribers, and I'm struggling to build that sense of community and connection. A small group/program focused on strategies to boost engagement would be incredibly beneficial for me personally. I'd love to learn some tips on how to encourage viewers to interact, methods to understand and cater to audience preferences, and techniques to create a more engaging content experience. Thank you for all that you do, and specifically for this initiative! I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with. If any fellow creators have advice or have faced similar challenges, I'd love to hear your thoughts as well. Wishing everyone the best in their UA-cam journey! 🫶🫶
I’m having the exact same problem and I’m having a hard time staying motivated because of it! It can be so frustrating, but let’s keep pushing! I’d also love to hear if anyone has advice on this.
2 years on this UA-cam journey, only 156 subscribers so far. You're videos are one of the sources of knowledge I turn to for learning. So, for all your knowledge bombs, I thank you sir Would love a roast from you Mr. Nate.
8. "Hi I’ve reviewed your channel and noticed a few areas where small tweaks could make a big impact. Let me know if you’d like me to share my insights!"
Nate my man - its been 2 weeks, I searched you up on UA-cam checking for new content. My life needs more Nate 🎉 (Seriously though, take your time to bring value, just loving the content and your vibe).
Amongst the many content creators who are out there to help other channel's growth by showing them tips and tricks for their own personal growth, your approach is the reason why I come here and apply to mine! Thank you so much and best of blessings!
As a small creator I massively enjoy haveing someone like you who remembers what it was like being open and honest about all of this. I have a slightly odd package as a paranormal channel, that's not super easy to have the ideal audience be suggested for, yes even with some 900k+ views across big name channels it's still a struggle to get noticed, sometimes packaging or setting up a video it's not just what's the most intense scene or what's this crazy irrefutable evidence I've captured. There's build up story telling or an attempt at it going off natural energy and supernatural research. It's soo difficult when it's not a main stream idea like tech or Beauty or gameing...
I just opened up my channel 2 months ago and so far I love creating for youtube! There is a whole lot to learn though! Your videos are very helpful to me 😊
I always appreciate videos where you (friendly) roast our smaller channels. I learn a lot when I see you point out something that someone has done wrong (because it's usually something that I'm messing up as well). Thanks Nate!
I think a topic worth mentioning for established channels is how to, in search for focusing, you don't fall into repetitive or redundant ideas. Like, there's value in it and it works, but I wonder if I'm being too repetitive.
It’s been a long road but my team’s channel at 867 subs is rapidly converging on the epic 1K milestone… hopefully by the end of July! Thanks for all you do Nate! 🤠🤠
8. "Hi I’ve reviewed your channel and noticed a few areas where small tweaks could make a big impact. Let me know if you’d like me to share my insights!"
I've spent years being told I wasn't good enough and my ideas were ridiculous and uninteresting. Stepping out of my comfort zone was actually put my face in front of a camera. Just scheduled my first video to go live. Trying very hard not to chicken out and delete it.
DON'T DELETE THAT VIDEO! You have nothing to lose and everything to gain if you just go ahead and publish. The "not good enough" voices can be tough to shake off, but you owe it to yourself to listen to YOU for a change. You had something you wanted to film and share. You filmed it. AWESOME! That took a leap of faith to just get out and DO. Now, take the next step. Upload. Then start thinking of what you want to share next. If you did decide to delete the video, don't beat yourself up. Make it again. Make it even better. Publish. Give it a go. I am going to subscribe to your channel right now, and I look forward to seeing what you have to share. You can do it Judee!👍
Nate's hair: party in the front AND in the back. Welcome back Nate, you are the Tony Robbins of UA-cam. And by that, i mean inspirational for us UA-cam creators.
Just hit my 1 year anniversary in the YPP after about a year in the platform. Catch me this time next year, it's gonna be a wild one. Thanks Nate for helping me get there so fast on my VERY FIRST CHANNEL!
I would love to see a program that addresses my unique problems as a personal storytelling (vlog) channel that does not do straightforward education, reviews, or tips, but rather incorporates these elements into stories about what happens day to day. There’s a lot of emphasis on storytelling as a valuable skill in UA-cam’s messaging to creators, but frankly, I think storytelling confuses the algorithm because it is more subtle than a straight “how to” or product review. I’d like to know how to overcome this, without having to make completely different content than I’m already making. I know there’s an audience for what I’m doing, but I’m having difficulty getting shown to the right people.
Have you tried changing your video category? I saw a tip recently to put any video with "how to" in the title in the "how to and style" category, regardless of what the "how to" is about, to have a better chance at reaching the right audience. I've been putting all my videos in Gaming but I think I'm going to experiment with categories and tags a bit, at the very least on my tutorial videos. My content is also weird in that it's not completely a tutorial and it's not completely a video essay, but it's somewhere in-between and figuring out how to market that to the UA-cam algorithm has been interesting 😅
05:12 My superpower is that I started table tennis competition at the age of 51. I was really bad. I filmed the whole season. It is starting to be much better in the future but the power lies in the fact that I filmed and storytelled the terrible parts. Nobody can take them back and it would be very hard to copy. If you can already play, you can't be bad again. If you cannot play, you do not dare to film you ! People are so scared of that ! I found an audience of hard core followers who wants to know up to which level I can reach !
I gave up on tiktok because I cant stick to one hobby/niche. when I came over to youtube I thought...what better way to grow than to be totally transparent with everyone so that maybe I help others! Basically. Im literally starting from scratch and doing all the watching/reading/research and sharing it as I go...we will see what happens!!! Im not giving up!
Most helpful for me would be to do exactly that thing where I focus in on the bits of my videos that are the most interesting and package those into shorter content. I'm either about to give up UA-cam entirely or launch a new channel with my videos in a shorter-form content, re-filmed and better edited. IF I can find the time for the latter! Thanks Nate as always.
Leaving this comment as a bookmark for my journey. Whenever someone likes or replies, it'll remind me of where I started and how far I've come. Stay strong guys!!
Nate, your advice is working!! Thank you for all of your help and insight. We spent the last 6 months getting our ducks in a row and feverishly researching. Uploaded our first video around 6 weeks ago, and we know we wouldn’t have grown this much without all of your tips. Wishing you well ❤
hey, i m 22 yo, just started my channel one month ago, i am focused only on shorts for now, as i make fitness workouts i think it is easy for people to follow my work. it is really nice to make videos poat on youtube and see some of them making views. wish you all the best! 🙃
Hi Nate, great video. About our super powers, sometimes you don't even need to know what they are, your audience will tell you! For me, people keep commenting on how they love my enthusiasm and how I leave them in a better mood. So, because of that, I'm still making my quilting tutorials but it has encouraged me to show off my personality more and more and lean more on the entertainment side of the videos than just the usefulness of each tutorial. More and more I believe that anyone can make it on UA-cam as long as they keep at it and learn from the information they're being given with each published video. Have a great day everyone!
I'd like to see in a program/cohort/coaching ... This topic would seemingly be appropriate to develope in two directions. Going way back to your earlier video asking the two basic questions: 1. What do I want UA-cam to DO FOR me. 2. What do I want to DO WITH UA-cam. These lead to which directection for the channel?: 1. Build a channel that monitizes UA-cam income. 2. Build a channel that builds/markets a product or service.
Hi, I'll show you some methods that you can follow to grow your channel and reach your targeted audience. Please give me a opportunity to talk with you.
I started in January and just now hit 100 subscribers. It seemed to take just one video to really make all the difference. Would be nice to see how it goes from here.
"Focus is more important than intelligence," said Steve Jobs, emphasizing a truth many of us overlook. The ability to concentrate on what truly matters can significantly enhance our quality of life.
Thanks Nate for all your wonderful content. Currently, I am experimenting the "Endscreen", it really helped me, I never thought that I could get a 30% endscreen clicks after applying what I've learned from your videos. One of my old content got a 60% endscreen traffic. It seems that, if we want to succeed we really have to interconnect our videos. On the other hand, focusing on the skills that you already have and learning new skills are also a must. My content is more on ISP router configuration, I will maintain it but I am slightly moving to Computer Networking and Cyber Security content.
Love your outro song! I’m a 1 y.o. channel and recently had a video hit 37k views, and was weirdly so glad when YT turned off the faucet. It definitely felt like a “playing on the edge” moment, I think partly because I’m very introverted, and partly because I really enjoy the one on one interaction I can have as a small channel. Your question about what would help - I think some marketing “practice” would be a big help. I find this the least intuitive part and have had luck with some of the advice given, but really what would help most would be a deep dive with oute iteration/ practice to start to gain more intuition.
I’m literally applying everything I’m learning on UA-cam to my content , from thumbnails to seo in descriptions etc. Your channel is a gold mine of info, I’m seeing decent growth but I would appreciate a set of professional eyes just to check out if there is anything I can improve ! Thank you much for the great content 🙏🙏
Nate, what I'd like to understand better is why I can have 1,000 views every 48 hours for a few days, and then all of a sudden see that number plummet to 150. But what amazes me the most is that I still have motivation left to continue trying. I suspect it has a lot to do with your encouragement. Sincere thanks.
10 million views!!! First my brain would explode….once I recollect myself I will try to figure it out and break it down in all aspects of it. Then I will say…THANK YOU NATE
Also, Nate, just wanted to say I’ve been enjoying your content and it’s really helped me with my last several videos. I have been having fun utilizing my end screens better and I can see more people watching til the end and going on to another video as a result. Thank you for all the great info and for explaining things in such an easily digestible way!
My burning question: I’m bombarding my videos and the metadata with autism and dyspraxia. Why isn’t the algorithm sending my content to those audiences?
When you mentioned "what are the first 3 things that comes to your mind when you think of your favorite UA-cam channel", all of them are more how they make me feel (calm, slow & intentional living...) , can we consider these (feelings) as superpowers?
I have a small 80s & 90s pop culture and nostalgia channel. That may be too narrow of a niche, but I’m having fun a little over 50 videos in. It’s introduced me to some really cool people already, and there’s great value in that alone! Keep it up everyone!
Your practical advice inspired me to start this channel last week. 👏🏽 I’d love to learn more about how to create content around ideas I know my audience would benefit from but aren’t searching for.
Let's say hypothetically that I got all the 4 superpowers and they're strong, but I wouldn't have a fixed focus on a specific topic, but rather a fixed focus on my way of presenting/style/overall channel theme. Would that be a huge problem?
Very recent fan of this channel! It's been motivating and inspiring me to improve my content and strategy. not gonna lie, if my last video got 1 million views I would be scared. I feel like I have no idea what I'm doing. In another video of yours you mentioned tricking our brain into believing that our audience is already there -- I'm not sure who the audience for my material is, because I have this problem where I just make things that I enjoy and don't have any filter when it comes to posting or not posting or even just waiting to post once I have the material ready. That and I never design thumbnails. Anyway, thanks for your wisdom and inspiration!
Most helpful to me is detailed guides much like you do already. The more detailed the better for me. Examples, sources, multi-faceted information is so attractive to me I can’t help but like and subscribe
I have a hard time to understand how I should grow as a really small channel. Ty for this info. I try to make only high quality content and my Topics are spot on (I hope)
How to stay motivated when you’re ready to just walk away and quit creating? How do you raise CTR and Reach? How do you utilize UA-cam’s features & options for your channel? Thanks Nate 🎉
Hi Nate and all that may read this, I am super new to this and have been watching soooo much content to learn and improve my understanding, to mainly better myself and improve my content (me being a livestreamer in gaming - diablo4), but to also try my best to ensure that any awesome viewer gets value for their time by watching me, I have just gone over 80 subscribers and I am blown away by it, as I never expected it, but learning has been so fun, even though it has been challenging, but I am just enjoying the journey and have already met some awesome viewers, which shows how amazing people are in our world 🙂but I just wanted to say thank you and show my true appreciation. Much love from South Africa you legend.
So I hear them supposed to be studying my performance, my analytics, etc. how does one go about doing this and what should I be paying attention to? How do I interpret this information?
Hi, I'll show you some methods that you can follow to grow your channel and reach your targeted audience. Please give me a opportunity to talk with you.
In my past 3 videos I have tried to lean into your "superpower" segment, and it has resulted in 22k, 2.9k, and 400 views. I realize there's a period of transition, but DAMN have the past few months been tremendously frustrating, so frustrating I'm on the verge of calling it quits. I view that SUB button as the foundation of a relationship, and if one side doesn't contribute any feedback for me to make for them, then I'm grasping at straws trying to find other audiences (which hasn't yielded any results).
I have been winging it since 2020 and looking to get intentional this year with my content. I struggle to focus a few topics so thank you for this advice! I will work on that list and get my focus on 😊
To all small channels like me , you will grow your channel big and succeed, it a matter of hard work. It might feel a lil bit hard . But keep on pushing . If you agree with me give me a big thumbs up
This video is super informative! The new changes for 2024 sound really promising. Thanks for keeping us updated on the best strategies to grow on UA-cam For the moment I have only 70sub but Hope never dies
I've always wanted to be a UA-camr since I was little, but my old-school parents were always against it. Now that I'm in college, I wanted to try my luck. Researching, recording, and editing everything myself is really difficult, but I just gotta keep pushing until I hit it, I guess.
Hi Nate! Thanks for all the tips, as always. As a Travel Vlogger "planning" the topic is something that is harder for our niche. Unlike a gamer who can pick a game and play part of it, we have what we have when we arrive at a spot, usually fairly unknown territory, so we are just exploring, not preplanning what the focus of the video is going to be. By the time I edit, the story is fairly clear based on what happened but I, usually, can't predict what will happen (ie: wild animals are unpredictable when they will show up to be filmed, etc). We are working on the "personal" part of the films like getting on camera, talking to the camera (our hardest part) but in the videos we watch it can get annoying how MUCH the creator has the camera on them and not on the stunning scenery they are enjoying. So balance...how do you balance that? Enough of "you" to connect with the viewer but not too much that you are neglecting the topic of the video which is the great stop or destination?
Thanks for putting these out for those just starting out your content is incredibly helpful in drilling out concrete goals for improving content and make it much easier to measure and improve content as one makes it.
I would love to see a video on tips to grow as an ASMR channel! My growth has been sloooooow but I am passionate about what I do so I really want to grow! My superpowers are that I am genuine, creative, musical (violinist), passionate and positive! 💜💫
Niche down! I can really speak to this - my niche is hour long story driven videogame ambience videos, mostly music free with a focus on atmosphere and soundscape. That really combines my strengths and what I enjoy with what I'm good at - and the more I niche down the easier it is for my audience to find me (and for the youtube algorhithm to find them!), and the easier it is to serve them and make better content.
Thank you for this information, I started a youtube channel to share the lessons I have leart in my selfwork journey. I want to be able to help others across the globe, and your information is extremely helpful and I appreciate it. I aim to grow it big
I've heard "Nick" so much that I started looking you up on auto pilot as Nick Black 🤦♀🤣 Legit, not even trying to be funny anywayyyyy THANK YOU for your awesome advice! You are binge worthy.
The message is simple. Its a mindset that requires your constant attention. If you want to achieve something it requires hard work and the willingness to put in the hours. I hope to see you all battling for the top one day!

Dang I use to watch u years ago
UA-cam shows your vids to people interested in those topics at that time so if they subbed years ago but don’t want that type of content anymore it won’t be shown. Especially since it’s been 14 years. Hope you get back up soon!!
That’s kinda crazy man fr

"How to take an established channel and move it into the next level of performance when things have plateaued" - this is what I would be interested in. However, it may just mean that I need a consultation.
I agree!! That’s me too!

Sometimes it isnt possible, because you have reached your max. audience
Nate.

Nate my man - its been 2 weeks, I searched you up on UA-cam checking for new content.
My life needs more Nate 🎉

G'day, new channel here
As a small creator I massively enjoy haveing someone like you who remembers what it was like being open and honest about all of this.
You referring to Mr. Beast's videos this year? 😅
It’s been a long road but my team’s channel at 867 subs is rapidly converging on the epic 1K milestone… hopefully by the end of July! Thanks for all you do Nate! 🤠🤠
❤❤❤❤❤
G'day
Rock ON!!
@@cookingitreal Thanks. the channel is not under this name. It's under lenses and life lessons
@@judeemclaughlin7394 Thanks! I'll check it out.
Keep going. You are amongst the thousands who were told the same thing. Don't delete that video. Learn from it and grow from there. ❤
Totally agree 👍 ❤
Content creation has set me free.
Dare to be Exceptional.
Dare to be Uncommon!
For the beginner (like me) who is reading this. You are doing a great job! Keep going ❤ believe in your dreams 🙌
As a new real estate agent who understands the value of social media in building a brand, thank you! I’m not giving up👊
Nate, your advice is working!!
❤🙏
Keep making progress, and it will pay off! Rewards are the fruit of my actions
Hi,
I'll show you some methods that you can follow to grow your channel and reach your targeted audience.

❤❤❤❤❤
Love your outro song! I’m a 1 y.o. channel and recently had a video hit 37k views, and was weirdly so glad when YT turned off the faucet. It definitely felt like a “playing on the edge” moment, I think partly because I’m very introverted, and partly because I really enjoy the one on one interaction I can have as a small channel. Your question about what would help - I think some marketing “practice” would be a big help. I find this the least intuitive part and have had luck with some of the advice given, but really what would help most would be a deep dive with oute iteration/ practice to start to gain more intuition.
HOWDY HOWDY, GUYS! Nate posted, time to study!

I thought of your channel when you talked about superpowers. The 3 words: original, relatable, high quality (not for stupids) :)
Amazing content, mate! I want to grow and these videos are really helpful! Cheers!
Funny timing on this topic as I have recently started to try to focus more on what works and double down on that.

That is awesome! YES 🙌

If you’re reading this, your UA-cam channel will grow, keep grinding and stay focused!

My burning question: I’m bombarding my videos and the metadata with autism and dyspraxia. Why isn’t the algorithm sending my content to those audiences?
Interesting 😢.
When you mentioned "what are the first 3 things that comes to your mind when you think of your favorite UA-cam channel", all of them are more how they make me feel (calm, slow & intentional living...) , can we consider these (feelings) as superpowers?
Thanks for the video we are new to youtube so we need all the help we can get ✌️❤️
Hello ma'am
@@Seoexpart765 hi
I have a small 80s & 90s pop culture and nostalgia channel. That may be too narrow of a niche, but I’m having fun a little over 50 videos in. It’s introduced me to some really cool people already, and there’s great value in that alone! Keep it up everyone!
This video was a goldmine of tips! I’m excited to apply these strategies to my own channel. Thanks for sharing!
Your practical advice inspired me to start this channel last week. 👏🏽
I’d love to learn more about how to create content around ideas I know my audience would benefit from but aren’t searching for.
Am I ready for 1 million views?...
Yes. I'm gonna meditate on this, too.
Thanks, Nate! I liked how you make the points so easy.
Thanks Nate. I am focussing intently on what would serve my audience best and it is really starting to work.
2:54 no lie. The first words I thought about for your channel is “howdy howdy”

I would like to see a process on how to determine whether or not an idea is worth pursuing. How would you research that?
Watched this vid twice! There is real gold in it.
So I hear them supposed to be studying my performance, my analytics, etc. how does one go about doing this and what should I be paying attention to? How do I interpret this information?
Hi,
I'll show you some methods that you can follow to grow your channel and reach your targeted audience. Please give me a opportunity to talk with you.
Can we just give some love to that glorious mane?
Trying to be intentional about growing my channel-- great advice Nate
In my past 3 videos I have tried to lean into your "superpower" segment, and it has resulted in 22k, 2.9k, and 400 views. I realize there's a period of transition, but DAMN have the past few months been tremendously frustrating, so frustrating I'm on the verge of calling it quits.
I view that SUB button as the foundation of a relationship, and if one side doesn't contribute any feedback for me to make for them, then I'm grasping at straws trying to find other audiences (which hasn't yielded any results).
❤🙏
I needed this UA-cam motivation right now. Thank you 🙏!
