I just tried making the Strawberry Dream Smoothie! Since my blender is a little bit pathetic and doesn't blend very well, I added some of the water I soaked my dates in! Made it all alot more smoother plus it added a little extra sweetness! So yummy!

Welcome to the channel :) A lot of people have trouble digesting dairy and are trying to find alternatives that are free of animal products- nut milks like almond milk are great dairy and soy free options. Unsweetened almond milk is also very low in calories and sugar (about 30 cals per cup) as opposed to dairy milk which even skim is about 90 cals per cup and can be around 13g sugar. Dairy milk isn't a bad choice, but if you're looking for an easily digestible vegan option almond is a great one to give a go :) I personally like the taste of dairy milk better for drinking, but I'll use almond for all baking and cooking, or in cereal :) Cheers!

maymunah Adewale I always soak dates in water, I try to do it overnight but if I forget I put them in boiling water for about an hour before using :) Oatmeal isn't protein "powder" because it doesn't supplement any protein but oats are surely a good nutritious source of protein :)
The recipe on the site and in this video do not match :( I downloaded the PDF and made the black and blue today, but when I re-watched the video I realized you guys put a banana which was not listed on the recipe. Obviously not a big deal, the smoothie was still delish! Thank so much thought I would just point it out.

cthomas0422 Thank you! The great thing about smoothies is there are no rules! You can do whatever you want! If it's too thick, add a little liquid, and if it's too thin, add more fruits or veggies! Add your favorite sweetener to taste. I love using cashew milk as a smoothie base because it's so creamy! You can easily customize your smoothie to be as high or low in calories as you'd like :)

+Son Nguyen Great question! I usually buy the organic strawberries that are frozen anyways because at my store they are always on sale. I'd suggest organic if you can but I wouldn't stress if you can't :) Your body will still appreciate the fruit!!

Sabrina Mullen No dumb questions! You can either buy your dates pitted or cut out the pits by just slicing them in the middle and pulling the pit out. It can be a bit of a pain so I often buy them pre-pitted. To soak them I just put them in a bowl and cover them with water- leave them overnight and then use in the morning! If I forget to soak overnight, I'll put them in a bowl with boiling water for about an hour and that will still work :)
