Several important notes here. First, I realized while adding the time codes that I ranked Bangkok Rush higher than Piranha Plant Cove by accident. I'm actually done recording through episode 6 so it will not be fixed until episode 7 (spoiler alert: there will be an episode 7)
Second, in case you're confused by the ranking of SNES Rainbow Road specifically, it gets re-rated in a later episode. I once again feel I was way too harsh on how simple it was and failed to mention that's actually still more fun than some of the courses that were ranked ahead of it.
Third, as I said in here, there will be a 7th episode. My plan is to post all 6 first parts in case anybody feels I got something horribly wrong about a course and feel I need to rerate it so let me know. That's not to guarantee I will definitely follow comment suggestions (it is my list after all) but I especially would like to know if I straight up got information wrong or something. At the very least, I will take a second look at DS Waluigi Pinball as I realized it may have fallen victim to Twisted Mansion's pre-fix rating as well as a few others. I think I may turn off lightning and blue shells in the re-races due to an incident that occurs in episode 6 but I haven't decided. I'm not sure whether I'll bother actually showing the re-races though unless my opinion changes quite a bit. I'm aware this is probably waaaaaay more effort than "some guy rates Mario Kart courses" deserves but seeing as how this series is definitely running longer than 10 hours long I feel I damn well better get the end result right...or as right as opinions can get. Plus, I'm having fun with this.
Fourth, I have arachnophobia, so fuck that spider.

Love how you’re approaching the list, and your commentary on every track, both the positives and negatives, is really cool!
I’m also a huge MK7 sucker and a firm believer that 3DS Rainbow Road is the best one in the series, with Wii & DS tied for a close 2nd place. The “GO GO GO!” feeling on Lap 3 is so goddamn nice.
Also the spider inadvertently making you realize “Maybe I should move Twisted Mansion higher” is hilarious to me

I have a very different opinion on Tick-Tock Clock than you since my brother and I thought it was the second best course in DS, and it was the course that had us most excited for Mario Kart 8 on Wii U.
Also, I've always seen people say they like Tick-Tock Clock, but maybe that's bias of perspective.

I've given it some thought and I think I'd have liked it more if they had kept it more like the DS. I recall my favorite part on DS being drifting back and forth on the gears in the middle of the course and the fact that you can just glide over the whole thing kind of ruins it. Plus, dodging the clock hands felt more interesting than tricking off of them since the air I get from tricking throws me off my line.

@Squadaloo Yeah. They took away a lot of challenge in this version. Having the clock hands not be hazards makes their dynamic with the boost pads way less interesting. That also explains why it feels weird to have it in Lightning Cup, like you said.
