Ironically baby peach and daisy hold a ton of world records
They used to pre balance patch, but Yoshi is just better and took their spot. The babies only have 4 WRs left out of 192 categories now, and that number will only go down

Btw Baby class is the meta in Battle mode (small hitbox and great mts, speed sucks in battle) and they are the most aesthetic so use them in lounge pwease

@@Paperboy01234 All of them, but mostly the dry bones class. Speed still matters a _little_ - and there's no real downside, since any handling past level 15 is basically useless.
Lemmy class would be second place, and baby peach class third place. Acceleration has a small breakpoint at level 20, and the baby peach class is missing one level of acceleration compared to the other baby classes. Acceleration matters more in some game modes than others, but on average it's still better than the negligable handling and _litterally_ useless traction stat (only slippery terrain is the rainy section on the top of the mansion stage lol)

The fact no one uses iggy when comparing to luigi and kamek is understandable because just like petey iggy's hair is covering you're screen just barely

Great tier list! One note: Heavy Mii now shares the same stats as Wario, Dry Bowser, and Funky Kong thanks to a change in Wave 5, Version 2.4.0

Edit: Heavy Mii is actually in the same stat class as Dry Bowser, Wario, and Funky Kong, not Bowser and Morton.

The most accurate tier list by far. And as someone who likes to stand out from the Yoshi class, Medium Mii and Inkling Boy have been my go to choices since this meta changed. It’s cool to know that the disadvantages to the best characters from the classes I’ve been using are little to none 👍🏽

I find it funny that Daisy has been meta in two kart games
Apart from one or two needless nitpicks, this list is solid, IMO!
The only amendment I really think needs to be made is that the 'Cat Peach' class should be moved into the 'Good' tier with the 'Rosilna' class (and debatable in which order between the two), and the 'Mario' and 'Luigi' classes moved into the 'Borderline Meta' tier (or frankly just put at the bottom of 'Meta').
Short explanation:
You've basically insisted that the 'Mario/Luigi' classes can only function on 'Mr. Scooty', robbing them of their natural higher Speed, rather than on 'Teddy Buggy'. Putting 'Mario/Luigi' on 'Teddy Buggy' means they trade off one point in Mini-Turbo for one in Speed whereas the 'Cat Peach' class trades off TWO points in Speed for only ONE in Mini-turbo (due to a naturally lower Speed/Mini-turbo ratio overall).
But even if you insist on putting the 'Mario/Luigi' classes on 'Mr. Scooty' they still beat out the 'Cat Peach' class on 'Teddy Buggy' in a side-by-side comparison in every Stat except a minor one in either Handling OR Traction (depending on whether you pick the Mario or Luigi class) and a minor one in Invincibility (which you yourself, said was basically irrelevant). DL;DR - 'Mario/Luigi' classes > 'Cat Peach' class.

This is what I mean man! The character variety that's meta in mario kart 8 deluxe is GENUINELY so diverse compared to prior mario kart metas! People just fail to see it man! Even then you could win going off meta as well! It's what I love about this game and it's what I love most about comp mario kart! You should perhaps do a teir list of best vehicles and glider!
Daisy is for sure the best character of this game!

Personally, I would rather use any of the characters in the good tier rather than Diddy Kong’s class. I feel that the lack of 2 speed is too much to sacrifice for the 1 mini turbo.

Yoshi has been my favorite character ever since I started playing mariokart on the 3ds, so I'm glad it's one of the best in mk8 deluxe.

One thing to consider and always remember: gear isn't skill.
You can use meta combos, if you're not training offline and time trialing, you'll still struggle with finding success.
Actually The heavy miis share stats with funky kong, not morton
I think that the superheavies (Bowser class) and the Funky class were left severely underrated because if you are at an anti-gravity section, for some reason, Mini Turbo isn't always the way to go. There happen to be quite a bit of anti gravity sections in the game and some tracks don't have a single area without anti-gravity physics. This type of track also has quite a lot of boost panels.
We need this for the Kart Combinations!

I really respect wr holders like Yerson to use the Tanooki class instead of the yoshi class when there isnt slippery road in the track.

Koopa was done dirty with the stats but I see people get a lot of success with this character online somehow
I'm surprised Yoshi and Birdo didn't get their own tier since there is a difference taking them into competitive vs Peach, Daisy, or Peachette. The latter three will stand out on the minimap for things like target shocks if, suppose that the MVP is on one of those characters. Yoshi and Birdo by comparison blend in to the crowd so your teammate has to track which color you are using, but you don't immediately standout as someone who is safe to hit.
As soon as Birdo was announced I knew I had to use her exclusively since she's my favorite Mario character, and the fact that she's one of the best characters in the game is such a plus
I don't really see people use Birdo a whole lot. For me, it's usually Yoshi and Daisy (my personal favorite). I find it to be interesting that I see Daisy more often than Peach online. I wonder if Mario Kart Wii's Metas have something to do with this.

They really need to include the background stats in the visual comparison in game, especially one as important as mini turbo. This list would almost flip on its head if mini turbo didn’t exist, or, like me, you didn’t know it existed and you were going off of the game stats to make build decisions.
With how powerful peach and daisy are both in mario kart and smash bros, i’m surprised they aren’t both QUEENS yet

Seeing Lemmy at the bottom hurts😂. I main him on the varmint bike and was able to reach 10k vr in just a few days. Now, I just get my ass kicked every race now. You really feel his low speed (and weight) stat come into play with how others easily overtake him during races. Stuck at 12k vr currently and I'm thinking of switching to Green Birdo on Varmint.
Damn, Koopa and Dry Bones are two of my favorite characters....

It’s kinda sad to see that both of my favourite characters Koopa and Wiggler aren’t even good in this meta. But I’m also glad that I’ve dropped them both to become a medium Mii main, so I can keep the Wiggler suit while having more optimal stats! 🐻👍

Personally, I prefer the high speed characters. With low speed karts & stuff, they're handling is good, and have great speed & mini-turbo. Also, seeing Bowser on a tiny scooter is funny.

in my personal opinion, peachette should have NEVER been a part of the yoshi class, and EVERYONE knows diddy does not belong in his class either. what nintendo SHOULD have done is place peachette in the cat peach class and put diddy in the tanooki mario class, that way the characters with them make more sense, and peachette wont be meta and diddy will. Win-Win
Nah, I think it does fine, after all Peachette is a very underappreciated and disliked character, and putting her in the Yoshi class was her only chance at getting used often, sure enough it worked. I do agree with Diddy Kong being in the Cat Peach class, as he would have fit the Tanooki Mario Class much better.
@@Paperboy01234 yeah but thats the thing, why would you put a character in a certain class just to be used more, like you wouldn't put funky kong in the yoshi class cause he's universally beloved cause that would make no sense, and of any character to make more use of, why peachette? shes bland and boring, has no actual character in the mario universe LITERALLY just being the global image of a power up, and her voice lines are annoying as hell, normal peach and daisy are much better choices to play as then her and the only reason she DOES get used is cause the best mario kart player Kusaan uses her and japanese ppl always have been fanboys of him (also the reason excitebike gets picked so much) i could write multiple essays about why i hate peachette, but i wont do it here cause ik ppl dont take THIS much time to read comments so yeah
@@h3r01cviii5 Peachette has been commonly used a lot when she was released when Wave 6 came out, but it since died down, but she still is used here and there.
And having Japanese people follow the “best” 8DX player in the game by doing whatever he does (Except for racing lines and item management) is kind of silly. It should always be noted that anything aside from Yoshi Teddy/Scooty will lower your chances of winning (If not in a lounge setting), and there has been times where he used off meta picks and still wins, but that’s just because he knows what he’s doing.
As for Excitebike, so what if it’s his favorite track or something, it’s a very hard track to master, whether you’re bagging or running. Some may say it’s this game’s Russian Roulette track of 8DX for that reason alone.
Baby Park and Sky High Sundae have similar layouts but the way the 3 tracks are designed makes the play-style of each track different. One’s a bagger, one’s a runner and one is both.
To end this comment off, I get you don’t like Peachette at all, but sometimes you have to accept the reality of other people’s choices.
I should also mention that Kusaan is how Japanese players get their information to being better players, just like how everyone else gets their top information from JPG, Shortcat, Gyrodos, L1am and sometimes even Kusaan himself. I bet even Japanese players even follow the western side of top players provided of course they understand English.

I've found that using shy guy with average acceleration and speed works pretty well.
I still don't know why they nerfed shy guy's Invincibility frames though, -0.25?

Idc what people say, I dominate with that dude. Worst thing about him is how big his head is. I 100% run into bananas because of that.
I don't remember where I saw it, so I can't provide a reference, but I think each point in weight is not equal, and the single largest weight difference for 1 point of weight is the difference between Yoshi Scooty and Male Villager Scooty, so I think there is an argument to be made that the male villager class is slightly better on Mr. Scooty and the Yoshi class is slightly better on teddy buggy.
You can change the glider to get better weight

Characters don’t really matter as long as you can play them well, there good.
