4th gen nano is the coolest ever ipod and they came with various cool colors that's why many people want to revive this ipod. It has also the best ipod software imo

I felt like this is the most difficult one across all iPod. I just change battery on 5th gen nano. It is slightly easier than this one 4th gen. 6th gen nano probably the easiest but I was careless broke the screen during opening up.
I tried this but the headphone jack would not budge and started coming apart. I took a tooth pick nad placed a damp of super glue on the jack to hold it together and resealed.
Well after 1 hr.. a gallon of hand sweat.. and hyperventilating. I broke it. In two places. Click wheel and hold switch cables. To explain.. mine had a swollen batt. 😥 Was gonna switch it out, cuz the pod is still perfect. Was... perfect. I do nooot have nimble fingers, and my hands sweating didn't help. I did get the board out though. 😊
Where can I get the parts that I need. I'm not an expert, but I will try to fix it. The screen pops out from the top, and it does not work if I don't have it connected .
Anybody know what the wh is on the oem batteries? I can buy a used ipod for $8 more, but if there Is a significant difference in the capacity of the battery then it would be worth it for me to upgrade

He decided to reuse the original battery connections because it’s more stable and less of a risk to tamper with resoldering the circuit board where the 3 soldering points are tiny. Easy to do with the right tools but way too easy to mess up and cause more problems. That was a more difficult a time consuming way but the safer bet. You have no idea how fragile these iPods are. Worst design on earth. They’re basically trash once the battery dies unless you know someone that is a master at repairing them.

i don't understand why you swap the charge controllers instead of just desoldering the 3 pads that hold the battery.

just buy some very thin wire to solder the switch and it should do the trick
