Thank you for this fantastic and helpful tutorial! had to replace one of my batteries and the step-by-step instructions were spot on! the only issue I ran into was getting the back cover off, That was a huge pain, Even with a heat gun I was too worried about damaging something and it still stuck pretty good, but that was more on my end!
Will this method work for "waterproof" shuffles? Not sure what materials third-party sellers use to waterproof them, but I assume it's some kind of silicon sealant. The batteries they use have such short life -- only a few months. Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks for the vid!
I had it, battery working and everything. But the soldering came off as I was trying to place the battery back in the device and was a bit distracted. I think one of the components was eventually damaged on attempting to re-solder as the tip was oxidised. Sucks I really wanted to use this little device again. Absolutely gutted and pretty sad :(.
No telling how many Shuffles you've caused to be broken. Following step-by-step, you pick up the iPod and perform the first step - hyperextending the clip. Only after the follower has bent or broken the clip do you mention that heat and alcohol needed to be applied first. Take this crap down! Or reshoot it.
I feel like this is common sense. A rule of thumb with repairs is to never exert excess force. Also. I always watch the video entirely before attempting a repair. This info is offered for free so I try to be more grateful than picky
Links to buy parts and book a mail-in repair in the description!
seems like it might be easier to just cut the battery wires and solder the new battery wires to the existing wires
Do you need to even solder the wires? Couldn’t you just braid them together and cover with a little electrical tape?
@@Ces1um not feasable with the tight tolerances of the ipod tbh

do you (or anyone) have a recommended battery seller? I don't want to get a battery for my ipod just for it to stop working in 2 weeks
i would recommend elite obsolete for the battery, never had problems with them
i have a problem with my ipod jack, it keeps cuting the audio with a white noise, its annoying. is there any possibility to replace this jack?
Great tutorial mate 🇦🇺
Hola me podias decir donde comprar la batería. O poner el enlace. Para poder comprarla.. Gracias.
How can I change the charging port? One of the pins is stuck inside. Can it be repaired? Or should I consider buying a new one? :(
La misma duda
I have the same issue, the charging port is damaged
this is fantastic! I just bought 2 but they never charge, never work, I'm sure it's the battery
You can bend that clip-
I bent the clip
Nothing to them things outside of the case. And well done my friend.
I would just do a test before pushing and gluing the back, like activating voice over or something to see that everything works
What can I do if the buttons don’t click?
A memory upgrade would be Sick 😊
Such a teeny tiny device
Buen tutorial, ahora lo voy a intentar, espero y salga bien 😅
What's the mAh on the original iPod Shuffle 4th gen?
50mAh
Thank you!
Bro I suck ass at soldering :( really trying my best but it’s so small
I say forget soldering. Just splice the wires half way and use a touch of electrical tape.
Did it worked for you ?
I think so
He is too smart
So Yeah! will save this one for later 😋 Yeah!
Why do you use yer all the time?
So yea X 100

Just CUT the Red and Black Wires and Solder the new battery to it, avoid remove and resolder the board.
