I’ve used this pump for years even when I had a 12’ pool now I have 14x42 and academy sells it for 129.99 regular price and comes with the inlet and both screw on hoses too. The aeration feature helps keep the water clean by adding negative ions not help mix pool chemicals. If necessary you can cut the pool liner to use this large pool fitting and then add plunger valves or you can keep using the slide in pieces and add the adapters that allow you to screw on the plunger valves and hoses. This pump works very well and even Walmart makes B size filters now that run 10.00 for pack of 2. This pump also allows you to use most automatic vacuums as well. Intex sells an amazing model that has rotating brushes and even climbs the sides of the pool and sits at the water line for a few moments to allow scrubbing of that water line. This vacuum connects to this clean water inlet tho not the suction port. That is important because many don’t read and believe that it is suppose to connect to the suction side then think it won’t work and they return it. I’ve bought several from spreetail on eBay for parts only and they were all new working fine. I run my pump 24/7 except when changing the filters. I don’t bring the pump inside during winter either. I just drain my water line down below the suction port (I keep one suction port blocked with the black hat stopper) and then I close plunger valves and I leave the hoses connected and just unplug the pump and cover my pool. I do winterize pool prior to draining down. If you want to cut your liner you just take the piece that screws onto the outside wall of the pool and use a marker to trace around the inside of the circle making sure it is centered on the nipple tube that the small pool fittings slide into and then take a hobby knife not box cutter and slowly carefully cut along the marked line. I’ve done this to 7 pools so far and it’s super easy. They also make caps to go on the large pool fittings for winter. Intex makes led light that screws onto the large pool inlet once you remove the facing and is powered by the water pressure same way the automatic z300 vacuum is powered by the water pressure. I would recommend this pump to anyone with an above ground pool up to 15’ round. Any larger than that then I feel you would need a more powerful pump shoot Intex should be sending me products to do review videos on. You name it I’ve tried it. Also replacement parts are available on the Intex corp website as well. You can get the large pool suction fitting with screener grid attached from them or off eBay or Amazon just keep in mind 2017 laws changed to where 2 suction ports were required after a child hair was caught in suction port and she drown. Splitting up the suction to 2 ports is not a benefit like many think it is. It cuts the power down in half and with most pumps you can’t even run the over side skimmer without blocking the other suction port. Now if you get the suction that has a strainer grid that is removable be careful cause it will pull a hand off once the grid is removed! The Intex brand doesn’t make those anymore only the kind that the strainer grid is made attached. Generic brands do make a removable but they are 3D printed you get what you pay for and Intex recommends that the pool fittings only last one season. So to be safe keep a backup.
For ppl struggle with poor pressure/flow from outlet: It's dirty inside and cartridge must be cleaned... indicator on top of top release valve yellow when dirty. Simply: drain dirt clean cartridge, drain the unit itself with sediment valve open. Replace lid an cartridge then turn on. Boom. You'll lose about 2-3 inch of waters. Refill with hose. Don't forget to release air after closing top giant main screw lid. And close sediment valve too
