I was absolutely dreading installing this machine, thank you for your very helpful instructions & the tip as to why my pump didn't work at first - letting the air out!
Thanks so much! Your instructions were really helpful and super simple to understand. Sometimes I need to watch a video several times to fully understand, but not yours. One time and I got it! Keep up the good work!
I have looked so long for how to clean the filter without the water continuing to come out of the pump because I have no shut off on the hoses. Finally your video showed me the common sense method of just putting it up higher! Why didn't I think of that? Thank you so much! I've gotten more out of your video then the many others I've watched that didn't give me any useful information.

Excellent helpful video, no useless intro , straight to the point clear n simple , the only thing that made me sweat was when he put that electric filter on the wet floor 😬
I don't know if anyone else said this but under your "con" you said the pump has to be close to the pool but that's not entirely true. In the manual it says to install the pool with the holes for the pump facing toward you power outlet for the pump. Meaning if your pool was turned 180 degrees the pump could have been around 3 meters away from the pool. I realize that this is not always possible because of where the water needs to be emptied :) Other than that your video was GREAT! Intex webpage did not work at all and your video explained everything super clearly! THANK YOU! 😊
Without doubt the most useful video I have found about setting up the filters! I had a previous Bestway filter on my Best way pool and filter went wrong yesterday. Managed to get a bigger Intex one today but had a few questions about setting it up and the instructions were useless! Your video helped a lot. Many thanks!
Thanks for the video it really helped. The pump works fine in the beginning ,but if it runs for 6 min then it starts getting weak. We check the air inside the pipes and opening the small valve on the top of the pump after we switched it off obviously and shake the pipes and let the water release from the top ,but still it doesn't pump the way it should.... the flow is very weak.
I left a comment about getting one yesterday, now instead of reading the instructions, I can watch the video😅 Thank you for sharing ✌️ Edit the pump I have it's called funsicle RX1000 that's weird 🤔
Perfect video you really helped me put it together to clean my water fountain, also where was this video located this is one of the most beautiful roof top spaces & buildings I have seen. We do not have this kind of homes in the USA. Thank you for this helpful video 😇👍
Ok, so there was a little white part that came with mine and I cannot figure out where it goes! I also didn’t see it in the video. Can anyone help me with this? 😣
Thanks for that! My water isn’t clearing not matter what chemicals I put in, but I had the cap on the air valve thing. Will try without to see if that helps! Thanks
Hi, I got a bestway pump but intex pool. I still have some problems to mount it to the pool walls, since its not fitting perfectly, but I thank you for this one. It much more help than the original "handbook". :-) Happy there are guys like you here
Hey Redringelworm, thats nice happy it helped a bit! Your situation is the reverse of mine. Yes it all depends if they included adapter pieces I suppose. Hope you get it working properly!! 🤙🏼
I can't figure out the lower hole. What do you put through to attach to the hoes. I can't get the bigger cage one through the hole to attach to my hose. I can't find any videos of that part of installation.
@@DutchSailingFamily I rewatched your video and it seems nothing goes through the other side of that hole for the Bestway pool mod. I have the 9'8" x 6'7" x 26" Bestway pool (mine has tan colored nozzle though, instead of the blue you have.) and the Intex pump that you have. I forced the Intex strainer Grid through the nozzle for the pump inflow. It doesn't go all the way in, but I got the hose around the outside and it isn't leaking or anything. Thank you for the videos. Super helpful!
Thank you so much. Our pump just arrived yesterday..so we still have a few months of cold here in NY..so I will save your video for when we are ready to install.. also for the tips on changing the filter cartridge every 2 weeks..gives me a chance to start finding them now so they are not all sold out when I need them!!!
I've found that whit the c530 (1,7m3/h) you can actually open the lid while its running to mess with the cartridge, as the pump isn't able to empty its housing whit a 60cm high pool, but the best part is that it doesn't even overflow, just sits 1,5 cm below the o-ring. after the lid has been closed, you switch it off and bleed the small quantity of air and you are good to go. easy, fast, no mess and no need to move the pump. just keep in mind that if you turn off the pump while the lid is open, it's gonna create a pretty big waterfall XD
Okay! Thanks for the video.. But can someone please answer me to why my pool has 3 filter/pump holes instead of just 2 like yours?... I have the intex version of this same Pool but there are 3 holes plus the hole for draining.. So I'm confused to why we have 3 on our and how to hook up this pump .. Our intex pool came with a box of different fittings and 2 short hoses that I'm assuming is for use with a pump but no idea and the manual doesn't say anything about it or how to hook up a filter... Any help or thoughts would be greatly appreciated
Hi!! That's interesting, so 3 holes plus the drain hole.. I'm not sure at the moment. Can you tell us which pool it is exactly? Anybody else have any idea?
I’m pretty sure the 3rd hole is for attaching the end the lawn hose to drain the pool. I’m setting mine up tomorrow and have read all the booklets it came with and then watched videos on UA-cam and that’s what the pool I bought has also. Much better to have the hookup to drain it and have control where all that water is going.
Excellent video, but you dind't show installation of the inlet and outlet fittings (on the pool side). I set everything up, and then found I had them the wrong way round, which slows the circulation considerably.
Thank you so much. Regarding cleaning the bottom of the pool can i just use some soft brush to brush the bottom of the pool continously when using the filter pump. Do you think it will do the trick?
I have heard someone getting it working with the hoses over the top, but most likely you'll end up having air in the tubes and it won't work. I haven't tried this myself. Maybe someone else has done it?
I find your videos to be Very helpful and easy to understand. Thank you so much for doing these. I do have a question though..Does the pump need to be on 24 hours a day?
Hello, I cant find where it indicates where the water level should be at? Could you tell me if the water level should be above or below where it shoots out the water?
Hi All. Have encountered a problem. When I plug in to the electricity, it works fine for 2 seconds. Then cuts off my other appliances in the house cut off. So I have to disconnect the pump. Go to the circuit board and put the switch back to where it was. How can this be resolved?
Interesting, seems the pump is shorting somewhere!! Definitely need to be careful with this and probably best to go the shop and get it replaced if you only just bought it..
Ik heb deze wel geprobeerd, maar nu gebruik ik m niet meer, denk dat ik inmiddels aanraad even verder te kijken naar iets anders: ua-cam.com/video/KvbYDFoWJnA/v-deo.html
Thank you for great video. One question. Do both, in and out, hoses connected to pool need to be below water surface? More specifically, does the higher one that's returning water into pool need to be submerged? My bestway pool has return hose pretty high and I'd like to keep water level lower for safety of my younger child and to prevent overflow when they play if the pump will still work properly by doing so.
Hi! Good question, in my experience, you can have the water level below the higher outlet, I've pretty much always had it that way as well. Makes sense to have the water level a bit lower. Enjoy!!
Thats a bit of a subjective thing... it works well for me! But it can't do magic. If there is dirt stuck to the bottom of the pool for example, you need to manually remove that with a brush... I hope that helps a bit!
Just bought this pool for summer here in Australia, it gets hot! Thanks for the great video with easy instructions. I also love seeing how cool your houses are there, God bless 🙏
@@DutchSailingFamily update. we taken it down after it got to December but eventually i made it workout and been using it all wrong. you have to make the water flow to the pump first and to the exit. so ive been doing it like both tube had water inside and the pump couldn't push through because it gets blocked by the water. (sorry for the bad english)
Hi Lieve! you could do that, I suppose you are trying to empty the last bit out of it, to put it away? If so, an easier way is dismount the frame so you can then drop the vinyl liner and the last water will run out. Hope that helps? 👍
Could you help me? I have a bestway pump and wanted to clean the filter so I did everything step by step just like you did, put everything back in place, tightened the gray ring and every time I try to put it back on the ground water spills over the gray ring super fast. You don't know what happened? I am new to swimming pools, I wanted to clean the filter for the first time and even with the gray ring closed, the water still flows out so fast and a lot. The light gray top of the filter pushes upwards ... Is it broken or can I do something?
Hi Izabela. Not sure if you fixed it by now, but I thought I would reply anyway, It sounds like the top cover is not screwed on correctly, maybe misaligned, if that makes sense. It really should close perfectly so that no water can come out. You did the right thing tho, it's important to clean it every few days, or it will not work very well. I hope you get it sorted!!
Thank you for your response. Yes, I was able to fix it. The black rubber gasket was not where it should have been. So I found it, put it on correctly and it works fine. Thank you anyway :)
great video. My filter came with black stoppers to put inside the pool in each outlet/inlet hole when changing or cleaning filter. This video shows me that if i put the filter above the pool, then i dont need to put the stoppers in to stop the flowing of the water out, is this correct? thanks so much!
Thanks for your help. I would have been lost if just used instructions. One thing though. I notice that it will work really well for 15 to 30m. Then it will randomly just switch off. Ie I won't hear any noise and won't see any water being pushed back into the pool. Pipes are all full but no movement. I have done the unscrewing and clearing of air/shaking of pipes procedure. But it still occasionally stops.
How long is the electrical cord for the pump? I saw a video by Intex saying I can't use an extension cord with it...but I mean I want to put the pool in my yard, not right next to my house 😑
Hi Sara, you're right.. The cord is short. Too short to be honest. And i used an extension cord as well, thing is that Intex is not going to be held responsable if anything happens with water and extension cords..
uhm... there's a filter with the pump too, it's the mushroom-like thing that goes on the inside of the Pool. it's also in your video parts inventory, but it doesn't get used in your video... what do i do with this piece???
True, it didn't fit on the pool I used which was a bestway, but also not required. I'm not with the parts right now, away from home, but if I'm not mistaken you insert it from the inside into the pool opening and it helps securing the outside connectors, and at the same time stops large items going into the tube. 👍🏻 I hope that helps!
Thanks for such an easy to understand video. I have a wooden hot tub, it only has one inlet/outlet point at the bottom. Will this system still work if I just throw the other hose over the top of the tub and submerse it say a foot under the water line?
@@DutchSailingFamily To be honest we never perfected this so have been just emptying and refilling with water when its too dirty to hot tub in. I'll have another go at it this year.
@@anonymous_bot_bot Ok shame! I would say if you put the outflow from the pump to the pool over the top of the pool edge and into the water, it should be fine.. 🤞🏼🤞🏼
It will be suitable for that size of pool yes. But do check that the fittings for the pump tubes are there, and that the dimensions work. Should be in the specs of the pool itself..
I’ve recently set this pump up - the pump is on and working but very weak. I’ve checked the connections, have gotten all the air out. Any one have a similar issue and fix? Filter is brand new.
Hi Scarlett well if there's noise but no water streaming it sounds to me like air in the pipes. Maybe my other video helps, have you tried those tips? Here it is: ua-cam.com/video/YanyR6veJ8M/v-deo.html
I tried to get all the air out of the tubes, but it doenst go out, and only water comes out when I open the top thing. Must the pool be completely filled, so also the top hole where the pump is connected to must be under water? Can the air g out then?
No it does not have to be covered at the top. It's important the pump is always placed below the water level. And the upper hole is for water flowing back into the pool, the bottom one will take the water from the pool. Place the pump on the floor, hopefully this helps.
@@DutchSailingFamily thanks, well the problem did solve itself. I don't know if you speak Dutch. But I do have 1 other question. What to do when it starts to rain. Lightly, heavily. Do I put the poolcover on or not? I don't know what is the best thing to do. We get rain on Thursday, I live in the south of the Netherlands, and because we mostly get the highest temperatures in the country we also get the most intence rain and thundershowers because of that.
Hi! Good question, in my experience, you can have the water level below the higher outlet, I've pretty much always had it that way as well. Makes sense to have the water level a bit lower. Enjoy!!
Very informative. Thank you.
Happy to help!
hi. Please tell me how well this filter pump is going to clean
Thats a bit of a subjective thing... it works well for me! But it can't do magic. If there is dirt stuck to the bottom of the pool for example, you need to manually remove that with a brush... I hope that helps a bit!
Great video. Thank you. The instructions that came with the filter are horrible and this was a huge help.
That's great to hear and exactly why I did the video! Thanks!!
Just bought this pool for summer here in Australia, it gets hot! Thanks for the great video with easy instructions. I also love seeing how cool your houses are there, God bless 🙏
Hey Chanelle, awesome appreciate that! Happy swimming 😃
Thanks for video, it really helps me to install the filter pump, I just have a question, the pump must be turned on all day?
No.I have a intex pool myself... unless u feel like a lot of stuff is getting in your pool,it can be turned on and off as u please😃
Thanks Lejeannia 👍🏻 !
@@lejeanniamuhammad3395 so u only turn it on by plugging in right? how long do u filter it for? errday? how many minutes or hours??
Thanks so much I really needed this video
Glad it helped you!
I have a brand new intex pump filter and installed it , it has a low flow and worries me and also it shuts down after a few minutes of use
How has it been so far?
@@DutchSailingFamily update. we taken it down after it got to December but eventually i made it workout and been using it all wrong. you have to make the water flow to the pump first and to the exit. so ive been doing it like both tube had water inside and the pump couldn't push through because it gets blocked by the water. (sorry for the bad english)
@@KyossWasHere ok I see so you did manage to solve it which is great 🥳 !
Can I used this pump qlso to drain the bottom part of the pool and if so, how do I go about it.
Hi Lieve! you could do that, I suppose you are trying to empty the last bit out of it, to put it away? If so, an easier way is dismount the frame so you can then drop the vinyl liner and the last water will run out. Hope that helps? 👍
Thanks for the video,
Hope it helped you!
When I unplugged the pump to clean the filter big overflow of water
@@izak5500 ah that's good news, great to hear! 😊
For how long can use same water in swimming pool with using pump!?
Hi! When you use the pump and chlorine you can use it the whole season. The water should stay just fine!
Thank you so much for taking the time to make this video!
Hi addgrav! No worries, I had fun doing it, thanks for the feedback!!
great video. My filter came with black stoppers to put inside the pool in each outlet/inlet hole when changing or cleaning filter. This video shows me that if i put the filter above the pool, then i dont need to put the stoppers in to stop the flowing of the water out, is this correct? thanks so much!
You nailed it! Correct 😃👍
Im seeing water coming frim the bottom of the pump .what can it be?
Hi Josephine sorry to take so long, hope it's all ok now! If not, just check the tube connections and rubber seals..
Can the kids swim while the filter is on? Just worry about water and electricity together. Thanks.
Hi! Yes it's best to switch the filter off when swimming. Enjoy!
Can I ask you real measures footprint on the ground of that pool? Thanks
Hi! Sorry I don't have this pool set up at this moment so I couldn't answer that accurately..
Hi Darren, maybe your pump gets overheated?
Gracias excelente explicación, súper útil!! Saludos desde Paraguay!😊👋 thank you!
Wow so awesome to hear my video went all the way to Paraguay! Enjoy your pool time :-)
How long is the electrical cord for the pump? I saw a video by Intex saying I can't use an extension cord with it...but I mean I want to put the pool in my yard, not right next to my house 😑
Hi Sara, you're right.. The cord is short. Too short to be honest. And i used an extension cord as well, thing is that Intex is not going to be held responsable if anything happens with water and extension cords..
Thank you from italy man!
Love Italy! Enjoyyy
uhm... there's a filter with the pump too, it's the mushroom-like thing that goes on the inside of the Pool. it's also in your video parts inventory, but it doesn't get used in your video... what do i do with this piece???
True, it didn't fit on the pool I used which was a bestway, but also not required. I'm not with the parts right now, away from home, but if I'm not mistaken you insert it from the inside into the pool opening and it helps securing the outside connectors, and at the same time stops large items going into the tube. 👍🏻 I hope that helps!
@@DutchSailingFamily thnx👌🏼👍🏼
Thanks for such an easy to understand video. I have a wooden hot tub, it only has one inlet/outlet point at the bottom. Will this system still work if I just throw the other hose over the top of the tub and submerse it say a foot under the water line?
Yes
Hi Cheryl did you try this yet? Sorry I never got back to you yet, but I'm sure you had no problem doing this!
My pump has cardboard taped under bottom, should it be removed?
I would do so yes
Thank you - I forgot the installation procedure...My tip: always buy a bigger one - not the one they recommend because the pump runs smoother.
is it also compatible with best way size 4MX2MX2.11M
It will be suitable for that size of pool yes. But do check that the fittings for the pump tubes are there, and that the dimensions work. Should be in the specs of the pool itself..
What a awesome vídeo , Thank you man ! ❤️
TQ, very clear explanation. Very good info..
Hi Versatile, that's awesome thank you for the feedback!!
I’ve recently set this pump up - the pump is on and working but very weak. I’ve checked the connections, have gotten all the air out. Any one have a similar issue and fix? Filter is brand new.
Hi Nick! have you got the tubes connected the right way round? inflow and outflow? Seems like there is still a restriction somewhere..
What about the timer on the plug? Mine just runs 24 hours a day
Mine didn't come with a timer fitted. If you have one though, I would run it for a few hours a day, 24/7 is not needed..
mine has noise but no water shooting out of the pool like yours what could be wrong???
Jaja, zomer in Nederland. Altijd een avontuur 🤣😂
@@saskiapanter Haha ja hier kan je er donder op zeggen dat het de komende maanden niet zal regenen... kun je je voorstellen dat we af en toe een regenbuitje zelfs missen!! 😉😉
I setup 4 of these on a large pool, got a deal on 4 kits for $50 @ a yard sale.
Wow well done!!😀
