If anyone is scared to cut the holes in your liner, or just plain confused. He has a link to the adapters you screw onto this pump so the smaller tubes would fit to it. I went that route and is working perfectly fine with much more pressure than the 1000GPH pump that comes with my pool

After hours and hours of searching I found a video that makes sense. Thanks for clear instructions. It helped tremendously for a first time second hand pool owner!!
THANK YOU for this VERY informative & helpful video. It’s Clear you did ALOT of research to ensure a clear clean pool! As did I until I stumbled across this Vid! Thanks so VERY much! We have just purchased our upgrade pool pump to the same as yours, Intex 2500 pump. From the pump that came with our Coleman Power Steel Frame 16x14x46 above ground pool. This is our 3rd year with this pool which IS amazing quality it’s the pump. Last year we upgraded to a 1500 pump that stated it would do the trick and it did NOT. So now we stepped up to the 2500 hoping for same, similar results you’ve had. We also followed with upgrading the t- connector and that other piece. We trusted and just did, hence not sure what it’s called. We found the waterfall on discount for a third less , & went that root. Hoping you caught a deal for it as well, can’t be 20.00.
Thank you so much for the list of items to shop for! I don't know why I need a T connection but the items are on the way because I'm sure it will come in handy. Guessing it's for the skimmer and/or a vacuum. If it wasn't for you I wouldn't know how to set up my pump every year.
I was scared to mess with my pool. If you notice this video being played over and over again it's probably me. I ordered exactly what you said to get too 😏 I'm excited...
I know this is a year old so you might not be looking at comments, but i will be trying to replace the jet soon. I have a round XTR 15x48 pool that I'm doing upgrades this summer. I'm making it a salt water pool with sand pump and I'm going to add the skimmer in your other video and now the Jet since the jet came with my sand pump salt water chlorinator. Good idea on the petroleum jelly.
hello ,, I have purchased this pump few days ago & came to your video .. the pump is not working or to be exact it is week & does not take the water from the pool .. I filled the pump with water then turned on the pump & have tried to put the pump in many levels & distances from the pool .. the pool that I have does not have holes in it and cannot cut holes as well as the walls have fibers to make it stand .. do you have any advise?
If I didn’t want to upgrade to the 1.5” hose, will my existing 1.25 hose work with this filter out of the box or will additional pieces still be needed? Or is the only way for it to work is to use the 1.5” supplied inlet and then get the T splitter to retain my 1.25 outlets. Will the pump be stronger if I converted everything to the 1.5” vs 1.25? Thanks
I can't thank you enough for a perfectly made, step-by-step guide on how to upgrade from the old 1000 pump to this C2500 from Intex. As you noted, this pump is a significant upgrade in pressure, allowing me to run this pump less than before. The cutting of the hole is what had me in a tail spin, until I saw your video. Like I champ, I used the black gasket as a template and cut out on/inside of the ring. The installation was perfect.
Not only is a sand filter better, but the pool comes with a stopper that you can plug off the farthest Outlet and not even use it and do what she did to both sides because you're not going to have the right suction doing it like that, especially when you go to vacuum. If you get a sand pump, it should come with these attachments for inlet and outlet. And doing this to both sides makes for the same flow rate and allows you to attach the skimmer basket, which with the sand pump makes keeping water clean SO much easier bc it grabs everything from the top before it sinks to the bottom.
Awesome good job😊putting my new 15 by 48 up monday.cant wait.i bought that pump and all connections.hope I don't screw up the cutting part.lol.thanks for posting.
Thank you thank you! I'm a single mom with no handy man like skills. In fact, I have whatever would be the opposite of those skills 😂anyway, this video helped me connect my sand filter pump to my 15' by 36" inch easy set pool. I was completely lost before that 😂
Update- I stand corrected. The waterfall I stated I located on sale/ at a lower cost is NOT the same brand! Looks the exact same. Clearly there IS a difference. So went with the same brand you have here! Had come bk and correct my comment. Thanks again- so very much.
If you have the Easy Set 18 x 48, you DO NOT need to to cut any holes or buy any adapters. The 2500 pump will work with all existing connectors and connections. The smaller easy set pools use a smaller pump, so you need the adapter to make this work.
Thank you Very Very much. Great video and exactly what I needed to see to know what to do. Very informative and easy to understand. Thanks and enjoy your summer 😊
I just added this pump to my pool setup, and i was wondering if it's normal for the pump to be a little warm, not like overheating hot but definitely quite warm.. Im a furst time pool owner and the small pump that came with my pool just wasn't cutting it.. Thank you for the video, really gave me the information i needed to properly install the new pump..
Sorry for any confusion! The 1 1/2" inlet jet that you need comes with the pump. I mentioned that in the video but might not have made that clear enough. The pump doesn't come with the inlet plunger valve or the t- joint plunger valve, which are both linked in the description. I did go ahead and add a link for the inlet jet by itself in case you happened to get a pump that didn't come with it. I don't know if some of them come without it or not, but the one I ordered did.
I have a 15x42 pool with ring top. It came with a 1000gph pump, and I want to connect a 1500gph pump. Pool is a bestway, can't cut pool to change fitting. How can I use new fittings and attach to bigger pump? Or can I? I thought about using bicycle inter tube for hose.
I'm guessing you mean using an adapter so that you can keep the smaller inlet valve and not have to install the larger inlet valve? I wondered the same thing and looked into it before hooking up the larger pump. The smaller inlet valve is rated for a lower GPH pump. The stronger pump pushes more water per hour than the smaller inlet can pass. That builds up pressure and puts stress on the pump. That being said, I've seen a couple people use an adapter, I just don't have any idea how much of a difference the bigger pump actually makes when using the smaller inlet nozzle or if it l lowers the life span of the pump.
Yes, the pump I upgraded to comes with the return nozzle. I don't know if all pump models come with the inlet nozzle, so you might just check the content list if you buy a different model of pump.
You can put the inlet valve that high on a pool? I currently have a bestway brown basket weave pool and my original inlets are way lower and My outlet is high so I'm so confused
Why did you have to convert the valves and hoses? It's weird, because I just bought an Easy Set 18 x 48 and it came with the plunger valve and t-joint valve. I wonder if Intex started including those with the Easy Set pools now. Also, why did you cut your pool liner? You could've just bought the 1.25 to 1.5 inch adapter from Intex instead.
You're welcome! It's definitely scary. It's an expensive mistake if anything goes wrong, but I agree, it really isn't that bad. It's a pretty easy alteration to make. I'm glad this was helpful and that it turned out well for you!
The old inlet jet is only good for 1000gph. To take advantage of the new 2500gph flowrate, you want to install the bigger 2.5"inlet or there is no real point of buying the bigger system..
Everything from this video is listed in the description box. If there's something you can't find there, let me know. I don't think I left anything out, but mistakes happen.
Thank you so much 😢 I was having so many issues, and your video was actually the only video that helped me get a better understanding of what I needed to do. 😊😊

I wouldn't use the petroleum jelly it will breakdown rubber. Use silicone or a non oil based grease.

Great explanation! Only why a paper filter system vs sand filter system?
I have this pump and it's not doing a good job. It doesn't even look like it's pumping water. I'm going nuts trying to fix this issue!🤦🏿♀️😤

I'm going to order the in-text 1500ghp pump. I don't think it's to different from the 2500ghp model.

Is the new pump louder than the original?
