My dad had a katana 1100 when I was a kid and sold it when I was 15 and the other Day I brought one and surprised him with it. Seeing he's smile when he sat on it made it worth every penny.
35 years ago, I had a Katana GSX750SZ - until I was T-boned by a careless driver. I then bought the pop-up headlight Kat. Loved the motor & the sound - but found that the riding position was different from the '82 twin shock - painful to ride for more than 6 hours. That said, I now have another GSX750SZ Katana that I'm restoring to it's original glory!
A 1983 Katana 750 was my first dedicated sports-bike . I really loved it , my previous bike was a souped-up Kawasaki KZ1000 , much faster but did not handle like the Suzuki plus not as smooth . I went on to own big Laverdas and Ducati's , to date I've owned about 54-bikes , currently riding a W650 , an XV1000 (TR1) and a cafe'd Yamaha XS-2 650/700 . They are all great in their own-ways . While I still think-fondly of the Katana , I really-regret selling my 76 Ducati 750GT , it was just about the perfect All-Rounder for me . The XV1000 is now my poor-mans GT750 and gives a remarkably-similar experience , or maybe it's just old-age Dave nz
This was my second bike purchased! I loved the bike. Still looking for a used one in mint shape to purchase! I got a crowd around the bike everytime I came out to it parked. It was way ahead of its time for styling. It would look good today in a show room new.
that brings back great memories, I bought one of these new from Alan Haines motorcycles in Brookvale in 85, cost me I think $4500 and I got $400 cash back!! Great bike!
Hey Caleb ! I just find your videos while trying to watch something about that motorcycle ! Loved it. You really rock it, the video is very good and I still want to get that motorcycle but just more hahaha ! Do you know that this model with the pop up light is very rare to get here in France ? Bye from France !
Hi Caleb ( you have a Japanese import jdm) s4 1985 katana. Rare in Australia. Our 85 models were silver frame with silver body and white pinstripes. Your ones even rare in Japan. Mostly s3 (sE) gold frame and pearl white. Nice video mate cheers Shane
Hey mate, so fun story, you could option the s4 in pearl white but not many people did it as the 84 came factory in white with the gold frame. This one was Aus delivered and optioned in white from new.
Only Japan, New Zealand, Australia and South Africa got them as a new model. The UK Suzuki importer, imported some to the UK. Japan would be your best bet.
Hi Caleb, May I check what brand of battery are u using on the Katana? And are u using the original battery holder? Would appreciate if could help with providing the info. Thank you.
Hi bro this bike is a lagend in the 80s .What a nice bike you got there. In the 80s i never got a chance to own one. During those years there's a lot of imported used reconditioned motorcycle brought in from Japan in my country.New production bike was not available yet back then.👍👍👍👍🤩

Had an 83 1100 Kat, ...the best seating position in all of biking..

Man, you must be my vintage. I bought my Z650 in 1982 after learning on the Honda 250 CB.

I had a pop-up Katana 750 too, in NZ in the 90s. Man, I wish I still had it!
My '83 GS750E takes some styling cues from this gorgeous machine.
I owned the first year of the pop up headlights! I loved that bike!

Interesting ! I really like Caleb's, here in France the very rare model we find are gold frame
You have one more gold framed s3 as I recently sold a part to a Frenchman whom bought it at auction from Germany. Catawiki I think it’s called.

f you have contact with the guy who owns this katana, tell him to put IPONE 10w50 mineral oil. Much, much better than semi-synthetic 10w40 :)
La mía era 1.000 cc una hermosura.
