Just want to reiterate im just a casual but i do love playing Titan. There's so much to say about the Titan Class and i hope the community can discuss it openly
Titans should be good at 2 things. Aggressive melee and defensive team play. There is no synergy in the defensive play on prismatic atm. Your 100% right on those two aspects needing to be changed. Right now they are fun but they have no synergy and just feel tacked on.
Prismatic titan is pretty one dimensional but I'd argue that one thing is the most potent across all prismatic kits. With synthos, you are 1 shotting GM level champs with zero ability set up. Even hunters have to freeze an ad near the champ, kill it, then proc freeze again, and that's after you build combination blow x3. With titan you get 3 instant melees, and if you get a class item with Hoil you have insane uptime. If you want to go utility over damage, getting a class item with spirit of contact lets a single consecration take care of all 3 champ types. Ya, all prismatic titan is triple consecration but it's really really strong. You don't have to set anything up or worry about loop certain abilities with a perk or anything. You just hit a consecration and you're deleting the field even in GM's. In raids, swap to a class item with star eater and twilight arsenal hits for 800k and applies weaken. It won't out damage a celestial hunter but nothing does right now. Also, banner of war makes berserker titan. The bonus damage to frenzied blade and grapple melee comes from banner while letting you go aggro in higher level content. I honestly think strand and prismatic titan are the most high skill high reward subclasses atm. The best survivability is nuking the enemies dead, which both kits accel at. Here's an 8 minute solo Disgraced GM run: ua-cam.com/video/NqFbpdfScBs/v-deo.html Another one, 17 minute solo glassway GM: ua-cam.com/video/KRGJqDHEwvk/v-deo.html
Titan main since launch here. I absolutely agree with the imbalance between the supers. Prismatic has been really interesting and fun to play but it has really amplified how bad some of the other elements are. I just wanna see more exotics so we can compete with the other classes. Warlocks are nuts in the Sandbox right now
At least twilight arsenal gives us a super that's actually worth using now on bosses. It's not like titans are unplayable, they just can't reach the peaks of hunters and sometimes warlocks. I'm still usually top dps or close to it on the witness with running twilight arsenal, still hunt, and apex predator. It's not like they're unplayable, but celestial nighthawk can be kind of egregious when compared to titan supers.
i used to be a titan bubble main, until they added capture points in trails, witch enviably killed the class because people complained about bubble in trials. i still think removing weps of light was the dumbest choice they ever did... i havnt touched titan in a long time but every change is a nerf (the melee cooldown because titans where going to fast in pvp, ,the bubble in trials, stasis titans only getting a few shards now), this is all because of pvp.... these nerfs should only effect pvp, but bungie made it across the bord.
I like your points. Very good. The stuff you’re asking for isn’t the most overpowered shit ever like half these others videos. These would just be good quality changes. Hunters playin with a 2000 piece Lego set and titans over here with 3 different colored bricks
I think bungie hates titans or the tank class in general, the fact that unbreakable has a 3 minute cooldown for a 2 second long ballistic shield ability that literally breaks after absorbing 400 damage and that there's a 10 second cooldown for making over 6 stasis shards shows they just dislike the whole armored playstyle archetype, I mean every dev video has always shown hunters and warlocks being played and never titans so that just says a lot in general.
I'm going to be honest, titan cannot function unless the enture subclasses get reworked. Titan got complete neglect since beyond light, and it's just been building up. Too much melee, too many On Kill conditionals, for minimal reward since everything got nerfed. Some Solutions come to mind: Unbreakable drains your barricade instead. Barricade has become completely obsolete, useless. Replace hammer strike with the throwing hammer and revert the 1.4 sec CD Nerf. Add Banner of war to Prismatic, i agree it lacks complete Strand Identity but visually i think it's iconic and Titans need some form of healing in Prismatic, they should also remove it's melee damage, buff it's duration, lower stack requirements, and make it grant woven mail, and rework into the fray to tangle granting unraveling rounds or something else. Remove Knockout, add in ToT and Storm grenades and revert it's nerfs from Season of Plunder. That sounds crazy but it would allow prismatic Titan to be on an even playing field compared to the other classes.
To point out, Banner of War isn't strand. Lol read the description of the aspect and nothing in it mentions strand. 😂 all the other aspects have something thats in relation to their respective super but BoW does not lol
Titan main since d1 beta… 1: Prismatic really needs: Bastion Banner of war Those combined with knockout would actually be great. And even consider removing diamond lance and replace with juggernaut 2: Concreation also could go. If your going to use them you want The pyrogales on but you don’t have burning Maul Also they need to bring up ability regen across the Board. 3: the Prismasitc titan really should have the most melee abilities to Choose from Balistick slam is a great arc ability which the old arc titan has frontal assault they need to bring that back as well.
Try Behemoth with Precious Scars and Verglas Curve. I find it genuinely hard to have survivability issues in 85-90% of the sandbox since Scars rework. Arc if not on hoil (still great build with Ionic Traces) can run the same setup with Trinity Ghoul. Any of the light subclasses can run peregrine greaves to just remove champions altogether (best is void with offensive bulwhark). The main counterpoint I will always make when people say titans don't have tons of synergy or lack compare to other classes, is that we run much more circularly with our exotic than half if not more of hunter/warlock builds. Titan builds start with exotic armors. Name a subclass and what you wanna do with it and there is almost always an exotic tailor made for that build. Where people confuse 'strength' in builds is typically in versatility. Are hunters more versatile than Titans? 100% that's their class fantasy. Warlocks? Everything feeds everything and synergy is forefront. Titans? I'm gonna do this and you can't stop me. By far the lowest versatility but best ability to specialize.
I never thought about it in that since and I do see your point but that fantasy of “I’m going to do this and you can’t stop me” diminishes as the content difficulty increases. Closing the gap on enemies requires more effort. Maybe it’s a get good situation for me
@@cjcrispy no you're right, difficulty increases naturally warrant more complex strategies. That is typically the ground people take with "titans fell off" and similar statements. Less and issue with titans and more an issue with encounter design and balance. But 90% of the sandbox? Yeah I'm running things over.
@@biggswigg2613 Everything works up until about master tier content. At master tier you start running into issues where if you lack range and ways to heal yourself you will be stuck in a corner avoiding damage after just peeking around cover. I understand that they can't just give all subclasses the "Restoration" keyword but arc lives and dies by having/not having "Better Already" on your legs. At master tier if you lack ways to either shut down spawns of enemies you will get blasted in seconds, and i think arc titan has potential here with pulse grenades and ToT. But ionic traces just don't have quite enough juice for it to be viable imo. But it seems bungie wants arc titan to be played similar to strand but more of a grounded tank style rather than a flying ball of death that heals. Which doesn't work if you end up in the face of an enemy that can kill you in 1-2 attacks and a stomp, and while thunderclap is a cool ability i just don't feel it flows well with the style that arc titan shows off. Standing stationary (granted it was buffed to give you somewhere around 25% DR while channeling) to blast some red bars and potentially killing a low health orange/yellow just doesn't fit, i look at warlocks with their Lightning Surge. An ability that would flow so well with arc titan but was for some reason given to a warlock subclass that's more about staying at range with grenades and arc buddies? Void titan imo obstructs your teammates more than it actually helps since you cannot kill something on the other side of a barricade or bubble. Ursa is cool but very situational and the super is pretty useless unless your team lacks a warlock. Void overshield is just a weak keyword in general and should get buffed, other than that i like the kit mostly. It's about crowd control and survivability at range which is pretty unique for titans but it's just fairly weak in the meta atm. Can't really say anything about stasis titan as i probably have less than 5 hours played of it at the most, did it recieve a buff? Yeah most certainly. Is it enough to excuse having a dogwater super against most enemies? Not really. Strand/Solar titan are both in really good spots right now and have clear identities, while prismatic is strong it lacks build variety due to the lack of synergy between most aspects and how oppressively strong consecration/knockout is with frenzied blade. Like i mentioned in the first paragraph this is in the context of master tier content and above. I agree titans are strong in anything below but like you said yourself most things shine at that tier.
I’m a titain main and I try to fight for better cosmetic all this Hunter and Warlocks have cool shit us is like water down clothing also Where’s our grapple? Why warlock and hunter has grapple in prismatic?
I really only have time to play Titan (school, work, life stuff) so I didn’t realize how underpowered they actually were till I switched to my warlock to try their new prismatic subclass. I mean it’s CRAZY how much stronger you feel. And I think that especially for stasis and strand titans just got shit on, like why do they have to be focused on breaking shards and unraveling when they can barely even do that? It’s a strange spot to be in, it feels like my “builds” are more focused on my weapons than my actual subclass
tbh i think arc titan has sucked since its inception in D1 (day 1 D1 titan here) i know you said fist(s) of havoc has been here sincr D1 and despite that fact i think it needs drastic change or needs to go. it has always been bad :(

I agree with you
I wanna see ACTUAL reworks of some of the worst exotics all classes have. A lot of pieces just outright suck

i wholeheartedly agree. I doubt each subclass will get reworked but we never know what Bungie might do

Plus remove all nerfs on our subclasses and movement abilities and exotic armor
Stasis is worse than Arc imo, but I actually think it's not by much tbh. Especially since FoH is basically useless everywhere
honestly even after the nerf strand titan is 90% of titans top utility imo. prismatic titan is flawed in too many ways.
I’m a titain main and I try to fight for better cosmetic all this Hunter and Warlocks have cool shit us is like water down clothing also

Warlock doesn't have grapple, they have threadling grenades on prismatic.

i completely understand that feeling
Do we have to?
yes, now go to your room and put on your rally barricade
Titans were on top for all of lightfall
Hunter detected opinion declined
