2:42 China GDP will compete with the US (however, per capita will still be much smaller)
4:00 First half of 21st century, the US will need to share with China and India
    7:10 Saving habit anecdote
9:33 China will take ~100 years before they reach the level of affluence in the US per capita
11:26 Infrastructure projects .....China now have the largest high speed rail in the WORLD!!!!! which was virtually non-existent in 2000
13:16 Communication, urbanisation, flow of information will need to change
16:30 Iran sanctions happened (it happened until DRUMP tore this apart!) ....TRUE
19:14 Russia (Putin came back as President) ....TRUE

25:50 Europe ==> Can't get together ....BREXIT happened in 2021

32:55 Stemcells investment in Singapore ..... Rule of law
34:29 Afghan: Creating a country is a distraction! ...... The US have spent 4Trillions in wars....imagine if these were invested in the US to improve education and the well being of the US residents?
37:00 US should be a benigh power ....... don't make other people (eg middle east, africa etc) your problems...you can't solve all the problems in the world
39:30 Deng Xiao Ping sent 30-40 thousand political leaders to singapore in 1978 to replicate Singapore success China. DXP recognised that the old communist system didn't work and decided to change direction to what it is today
43:30 Obama ==> 21st will be the contest in the pacific .....Fiscal & Dollars (there's a risk which is happening today eg Iran, Europe came up with another way to avoid trade sanctions by the DRUMP cronies, China is creating a Digital Yuan, other government are all testing digital currencies)
47:17 US economy .....does the US (President & Congress) have the tenacity and determination to fix the US economy (eg US Healthcare)....confront people with the TRUTH
49:20 The impossible can happen....USSR and China abandoned their communist market system

    Around 11:40
Why are Western nations so eager to pit India and China against each other? Can't there be a possibility that both can cooperate like how EU and US does? I do not want my country to be someone else's pawn in containing the rise of Chinese. India is growing at its own pace and China is at its own. India can do things a lot better but like Mr. Lee said, India is at an inherent disadvantage of not being a homogeneous culture like China. India will deal with this problem in its own way. Give both of them space to grow.
Also, *Democracy is not inherently better*. The current Chinese government system works for China but it will not in India. Democracy works in India because it is the only way for India to keep different cultures happy and remain united as a nation. Democracy may not be ideal for China because China can grow faster on a more authoritarian government that can take decisions faster and easier. Different cultures...different government. Its not a difficult concept to grasp people!

Nehru knew his brand of socialism was not working by early 1960s. He did not have the vision or humility to say i screwed up and adopt market economy. It would be another 30 years and a balance of payment crisis for India to change its course towards market economy.

Ruling a country with interest should know most country and nation , able to foresee and analyse country intention . Unfortunately now we see many country leader is leading like a shipping company rather than country . Lost of humanity , commercially benefit . Hope there is more talented people with good intention to lead a country . There is no permanent of life , but to see, look ,listen , learn and analyse from the past noble leader. Thank you Mr Lee Kuan Yew for where we are . RIP .

      @Lance Lee
The PAP has a long and nasty record of dishing out personal attacks and name calling. It is a tradition that first began with Lee Kuan Yew labelling his opponents at the Barisan Sosialis "Communists", which resulted in the arrest, detention, torture and stigmatisation of thousands of Singaporeans, in particular Chia Thye Poh who lost 32 years of his life to imprisonment without trial.
Name calling by the PAP is no child's play, especially when the party has full control over the local media. As Francis Seow once noted, "Give a dog a bad name and hang it." It can have devastating effects on families and can break lives.
The late JB Jeyaretnam was called "mangy dog", "skunk" and "street hustler" by LKY, who proceeded to bankrupt and crush him, with full co-operation of the entire system.
Labelled a "Marxist" in 1987, Vincent Cheng was locked up and suffered blows to his abdomen til he passed out blood.
Labelled an "Anti-Christian Chinese Chauvinist", Tang Liang Hong had his assets seized and was exiled, leaving his wife and daughter in mental duress.
Labelled a "political gangster" and "psychopath" by LKY, Chee Soon Juan was prosecuted, bankrupted, mocked and maligned for 20 years of his political and personal life.
During the LKY era, personal attacks were often amplified by the media. When Chee was called a "psychopath", Chua Lee Hoong quoted unnamed medical experts in an entire article to support LKY's diagnosis of the former psychology lecturer.
In the post-LKY era, the dirty work has largely been farmed out to a shadowy brigade of keyboard lynch mobs. Sometimes operating under a shroud of pseudonymity, character assassinations have since taken an even nastier tone.
Recent recipients of such venom include not just opposition politicians (Vincent Wijeysingha, Yaw Shin Leong, Nicole Seah) but lawyers (M. Ravi), bloggers (Roy Ngerng, Kirsten Han), rights activists (Jolovan Wham, Gilbert Goh), website editors (TRS, TOC) and now even parents seeking justice for their dead children.
Next to detention without trial and legal suits, launching personal attacks is PAP's most effective strategy to silence and crush its critics. And it has also worked wonders in perpetuating a culture of self-censorship. No one likes to have his personal life exposed to all and sundry as a consequence for merely challenging the authorities.
But the complete impunity enjoyed during the LKY era is now gone. Politicians who engage in gutter politics are now as vulnerable as the opponents they target. For everytime Chan Chun Sing attacks Chee Soon Juan, the gut reaction of netizens is to reciprocate with even lower blows against the minister. For everytime K. Shanmugam threatens a critic, the subject of his divorce gets another airing. For every Yaw Shin Leong, there is always a Michael Palmer waiting to be found out.
But will the PAP elevate itself from such an-eye-for-an-eye political discourse?
Highly unlikely. Personal attacks and name-calling has proven to serve the PAP very well over the decades. It is very much in the party's DNA. To extricate it from itself, it needs to re-evaluate and denounce LKY's use of such a method to crush opponents. No one is betting on that to happen.

Why are low birthrates linked with the subjective view of Singaporean men? I'm pretty sure it has nothing to do with that since you get married before you decide to have children other than the odd couple who had an accident, you should talk about marriage statistics if you want to discuss the manliness of Singaporean males. In any case, provide your own evidence when you have facts to share.
Define "emasculated pseudo-males" for me too, America's coming up with too many new terms regarding gender nowadays, either that or you think you look smart for adding on big words you don't really understand. If that's the case, it must stem from the lack of affirmation from your time in the Navy and your childhood.
Women hook up with whoever they like, unless you have another piece of evidence to share with that fact regarding white women. Why must men have quotation marks? I'm pretty sure that if you have a penis you are be classified as male. I guess I do agree with your logic, straight white women would never hook up with "men" since they aren't real men. Singaporean women are catching on too! Good for them! Anyway, don't include race in this argument, makes you look like you served in the KKK instead of the navy.
Or it could be that white women don't like you. Take your pick.
I could share with you some stories of failed marriages between Singaporean women and White (White = Caucasian, you fucking idiot) men due to basic cultural differences which severe chauvinism failed to trump. Your generalisation of Singaporean women irks me, anyway, I find it hard to believe any woman would find you attractive in a healthy relationship. Stubborn, chauvinistic, stupid and self-righteous. If you do have a woman, tell her I pity her and that she proves that love is blind, which contradicts ALL of your arguments based on gender.
Last ironic point, you called a fellow up there a snivelling pervert who's only goal in life is to get on your knees and obey your master, does that not sound familiar to you? As someone who served in the Navy, your whole life in the navy is focused on doing what your superior (master) tells you to do, if you don't, you get court-martialled, you being a fighter pilot doesn't change shit, in fact, being a fighter pilot might make you the ultimate submissive in the force, you can't even ignore an air traffic controller, who's not part of the force. LOL. I'll let you off on the snivelling pervert remark, I'll just call you a bully, even hiding behind a keyboard you turn to violence. Check with a psychologist to see where your multiple disorders stem from.
To close, Singapore canes its young males infront of an audience (not just females) to teach them a TWO crucial lessons in life, actions have consequences and that your family background doesn't matter. I only wished that you understood these lessons, because then you would know what the word pragmatic meant and you would never use it to describe yourself. Some words you can use are: anecdotal, irrelevant, ludicrous, half-baked, senseless, simple, imbecilic, dense, doltish, ill-advised, obtuse and nonsensical. The list is endless! Good luck in life and please, never go to Singapore because you'll find that the men there have already taken the queue numbers to slap the shit back into you for all the shit you've spouted through your 44 years of travel.
