Oh wow, you're in for a treat. I bought on release and have ~200hrs invested. Still haven't got the DLC (although it's on the list). There's loads to do without the need for DLC if you're only 3 days in (however, some of the 3x favourite gifts per character require items/ingredients only available in the DLC).
I am so happy with the expansion!! I am feeling the wonderful overwhelmed feeling for quests that I felt when I first bought the game a year ago!! it was a wonderful time going into the game every day feeling like there's so much to do and I am so happy to pay for such a dense amount of content
I personally love the dlc and had no issue with how much it cost. We got a whole new map and three new characters plus tons of new items. I’m definitely gonna buy all the future expansions! Love this game. ❤
And not to mention the DLC is still being updated. They showed that in the livestream that there will be three different story acts

I just started the DLC today and I really did love it! The world is beautiful and all the tasks have been easy enough for my crayon brain to get 😂💜

I bought the DLC and I am having a lot of fun with it. It seems like there is plenty to do that is for sure. I feel like I got a lot of content for the money.
there is a slight possibility that i might buy this if it's on sale, but not for 30 EUR... especially if there will be other dlc each at 30 eur... it's too much
Thank you! I am going to wait to purchase. I have been trying to get some older characters levelled up and complete the star path. So I appreciate you saying you can wait and that the game will always be available. I feel sometimes we put pressure on ourselves to get new games and expansions as they come out. Perhaps it is fear of missing out. But also some creators on UA-cam make ppl feel you have to get it right now when you really don’t. So thank you!

I can’t be mad at DDLV for not going free to play and to charge for the DLC, there is so much content & I’ve played 8+ hours of it so far & still barely unlocked any of the content. $30 is well worth basically paying for a whole new game that acts as an extension to our current valley. Of course there are pros and cons to everything. If this game doesn’t bring you joy, then it’s probably not worth it, but for someone like me who spends majority of my free time feeling like a kid again playing this game - it’s well worth the money I’ve spent so far.
One other thing; if this game was free to play all of the features would be behind a pay wall either way. I feel like they wouldn’t have been able to roll out an update this large & this packed full of content for free. Thank you for your honest review 🥰🙌🏻 I really hope the game finds its loyal audience & the rest just keep moving & leave us alone 😂

I love it and am addicted to playing again 😂 I was a bit iffy at the start (as you know) but I’m enjoying the new areas with all the resources to collect. It’s keeping me entertained 😃

I was quite surprised with how much the DLC had and am still happy I bought it.
I’ve not managed to play properly yet but I am feeling quite overwhelmed by all the content. I nipped onto it yesterday just to see if Gameloft had dealt with the map glitch (they have, which I’m very pleased about) and within an instant got swept up in Jafar’s quests, which I wasn’t ready for. Having too much to do at once puts me off and makes me feel stressed, which is not what cosy gaming for me is about, so I think I’m going to pause Jafar and just focus on my main valley quests before dealing with him and Eternity Isle.
It was my bday yesterday and my bf bought it for me 🥰 I’m so happy my fave princess finally is in the game 😭

i plan to purchase the dlc tomorrow. after gauging some reviews and critiques, i admit, for myself, that its worth it. i bought the standard early access game, which was only about $30, so i don't mind spending another $30 for the dlc. i do understand the sentiment that people who bought the most expensive early access game are sharing, but you didn't have to purchase the most expensive edition, nor do you have to purchase the dlc. the free update gives you some new material, alongside the new ☆ path.

Am quiet lucky that i got the cheapest early access version, which gave me free extra items n moonstones, and some new free items with the 1.0 launch. When i see they now take 10€ more for basegame (40€ here) without all that extra stuff lol, and additionally that 30€ dlc.
Waiting for a sale of the dlc. Still haven’t completed all the quests from basegame.
Everything purchaseable with moonstones am fine with coz dreamsnaps really allows you to make some moonstones for free.
My game plan was to go into the DLC get Rapunzel and put the DLC on ice until I’m done with the star path. It’s been more work than I thought which is good considering that means there’s more gameplay.

So a DLC for each area... That would be a good 300 on what we already spend for everything else and then some. Sad because Disney has become very money hungry.
This game really scratches my "need to organize" itch.
If the DLCs come with a long period of time between them I don't see a problem with buying if you're enjoying the game

Does my head in it doesn't utilise my ultrawide. Two big rectangles either side for no reason. I thought it was because it was going to be F2P but seeing as it's not going that way then there's no excuse.
I personally think the DLC is worth it. Because we have the content we have now but we will get two more updates in spring and summer for this pack. So itself like the main game in a way where we get updates so for $30 it's worth it. There are games that I played that charged more for less

I only recently bought the game (the early access version), so I am not going to get it yet. Hopefully when I’m more settled in the main game there will be a sale 😆

It is a bit overpriced, like everything about the game. That said it is a solid expansion and it is fun. I kind of see it like paying extra for a brand name product. We are paying a bit extra because it is Disney. If it was a $30 base game, with a $20 expansion, I would recommend it without reservation, however it is a $40 base game with a $30 expansion.
Tbh is expansion is just as large as the base game. The price makes sense. Games are not made free. It takes tons of money because they have to pay their Artist and workers. 😊
I don't think it's overpriced. The DLC is going to have two more updates and that was shown in the showcase so we will have definitely more stuff to do and only for $30 I think that's a good deal
I bought the top tier version, therefore they should already give any extra dlc for free especially for those who bought the top tier version. This is absolutely absurd that they expect me to buy more cut content sold back as DLC after spending over $80 already. I'm not playing this game ever again.
You bought the top tier version of the early access, you got exactly what you were promised, this game is worth spending extra but you gotta spend wisely bro.

No it’s not absurd. The dlc takes MONEY to make. They have to pay their artists and workers. You got tons of free items that people who buy the game now will never be able to receive. Are you new to games? Dlc is very normal…and also DDV Said from the beginning of the release of the game that their would be paid dlc in the future…so it shouldn’t be a surprise

You’ll have to buy it again if you want it on PC, either separately or as a bundle with the base game if you don’t have that on PC yet either.

There’s a lot of people complaining about the cost of this game. Video game developers of all stripes are working a legitimate job. They aren’t in their basement doing this as a passion project for free. If people want to see more great games of all genres and keep this form of entertainment alive, they have to be willing to respect the cost.?
From free to play to full price with in game shop is a clear no buy for me.
If it was free to play then EVERYTHING would be behind a pay wall. They are still releasing free updates every single time a new update happens 😊
