Thank you TDub's Kid!! my wife just got a new 2022 TW, and I'm installing Cycra handguards. Couldn't figure out what to do on the throttle grip once I cut the rubber off the end. My Himalayan is totally different. Now, I'm good to go! Much appreciated!
yeah pillow tops wear out pretty fast, must be made with real pillows, try TORC1 RACING ENDURO DUAL COMPOUND MX GRIPS, that's what I have had on there a long time now and they seem to last much longer
They make a glue for the grips also. Ive used that on my PWC and works great. Also try hair spray. They slide on easy and then the spray makes it really sticky when its dry.
I thought about using the glue but didn't want to clean it all off when they needed to be replaced again. well hairspray sounds like a good idea ill try that next time
TDubsKid the prev owner glued mine. When I changed them, I just used a tip I found on the net, pry up a little bit of the grip at the handle bar end side with a screw driver and spray window cleaner in there. Then work the screw driver in and all the way around the grip, spraying more cleaner if needed. They slid off easily afterward.
Also, if you use clear coat spray paint, it is a lubricant but when it drys it acts like somewhat of a grip glue. And if you don't want to tear your old grips up, you can use compressed air to make them come off. Great vid! Maybe next time you can do a carb float adjust vid?
clear coat sounds like an awesome idea, ill try that next time thanks! and I will make a carb float adjust vid eventually maybe when I tune my carb after installing the dg
Hey tdubs. A friend taught me a neat trick for installing new handgrips. Use hairspray. It’s slick to slid the grips on and then dries sticky to hold them in really good. Works great. Thanks for your vids
@@TDubsKid I'll send you those items from another video. The Motion Pro Tire holder thing and the rim protectors. Do a giveaway for me and tell people to follow me. My videos are just riding. I plan on take the Tw200 across country and back around 5000 to 6000 miles. I'm gonna try and film the whole trip. I'd like to get some Subscribers before and on the way.
Hey I appreciate it but I don’t do giveaways because of the legal and UA-cam rule issues, I can give you a shoutout if you send me any kind of mail to my P.O. Box when I do the next mail time video, good luck on your trip!
I was asking questions. I ordered the bar end "clamps" and the clamps you have for the inside as well. I had purchased a cheap set and the bar end had to have a plastic sleeve over the to tighten down and the inside bar clamps came from the factory with a stripped hole. I enjoy ur videos. keep it up.
oh gottcha dang that sucks it was stripped out, and plastic doesn't sound like it would hold up too long, I just got some new handguards ill be installing soon. thanks!
I ordered new incerts that go into the handle bar ends that someone on TW200 Forums linked to, Then a set of the inner pieces your showed. Have not installed yet. To busy. like ur videos. Cool stuff.
It'd be great for that. I've owned a lot of bikes since my very first one (a tw200 from way back). I thought I "outgrew" it pretty fast, and then owned a bunch of different bikes before I realized that the mighty TDub was probably the funnest one. I have a road bike that I love dearly, but had to re-buy a tdub. I am of the belief that they're the funnest bike ever made. It's slow, but it has a ton of grunt, and will literally go anywhere.
yeah exactly what Christian said it will be great for that. it is a very fun bike I hear people say they wish they kept it all the time. an it will defiantly go almost anywhere, I have ridden on all the trails around here that all the ktm and 2 stroke riders go on I can go about anywhere they can go just not as fast

Glad I could help! pretty easy once you figure it out.
Thanks for your information about TW’s.
Very helpful.
This bike is helping me learn how to do everything mechanically on a motorcycle.
Ty
No problem glad to help!
Thanks for the video homie. Most of them are really cringey to watch, earned a sub.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for the sub
Hand guards and skid plate are the best first mods for any TW rider regardless of skill level;)
indeed! when I had taken my handguards off for a bit, I broke both my levers quickly haha
Couldn’t you just put taller bars on instead of the risers?🤔🧐
Then you can add more gadgets.👌🏽👌🏽
Askin for a friend...
you could but this gives you more angle options
@@TDubsKid Thats true. 🤔
Who has a Catheter ? That's the water they use. The alcohol bottle
it's actually just saline solution that has many medical uses, but my mom just gets medical stuff from here work
Was literally watching a commercial on Catheters and saw that bottle.
haha
I have pink pro taper to match my graphic design kit, but they're not pillow top. Is that bad?
haha not if that's what you like! who cares what other people think lol
Oh my God I'm famous!!!!
And yes you actually did pronounce my name correctly, which is very rare. Awesome vid, thanks!
haha! hope it was useful, and sweet I got it right and a lot of people can't spell my last name as well
You got Pro Taper EVO Fatty bars yet? I'd try them with the risers.
I didn't get the evo, but the regular fatty protapers. made a video on it here ua-cam.com/video/7D_Vrhsbbcs/v-deo.html
Ive always use hairspray to install grips. It dry's quick and smells good!
that sounds like a great idea, ill try that next time!!
Did anyone else's Pillow Tops wear really fast? My orig hand grips lasted 3+yrs. The Pillow Tops barely lasted a season.
yeah pillow tops wear out pretty fast, must be made with real pillows, try TORC1 RACING ENDURO DUAL COMPOUND MX GRIPS, that's what I have had on there a long time now and they seem to last much longer
The razor part is pure genius! I love these vids
hey thanks! made it so much easier. glad to hear 😃

thanks! ill have to try that next time. no problem!
Donuts prevent blisters. Did you remove the stock grips? I'm hoping they're not vulcanized to the throttle tube.
indeed so much more comfortable having them on there, I did remove the stock grips, they didn't having any adhesive on them that I remember
Those cyrca probends, are the 1-1/8? I have 2016 tw and needs a pair desperately
they are the 7/8 ones, I think you can get them in 1-1/8 though
Just got my header pipe in the mail. Using some CLR and soaking over night. Gets the color back to stainless. Then polish after.
Nice sounds like it should work out great

ohh thats a great video idea, I will have to make that, thanks
I got the same grips on my YZ250! Love em
nice! those pillows are awesome!
Your hand guards are beat! And that's why you have them. Good job!
haha that's for sure definitely a good mod to have, thanks! I got some new highway dirbikes handguards going on soon
If you have a vise or know someone with one you can clamp the bar end of the handguard and bend it a little til it gets where you want it.
we have a small one but it won't work I tried using the floor but couldn't get it to bend, maybe next time ill take it to work

I just use compressed air. You spray it into the grip as you slide it on, then when you stop it doesn't move at all.
thats a pretty good idea!
hey td:) you thank a tw200 can pull a old 62 years old 300lb around in alaska??
I think so :) just not real fast, I have seen a lot of bigger people riding them
that bike is good for almost everyone!
i use spray paint
that's a good idea
Heck yeah another vid
hellz yeah!
Good vid and entertaining keep it up 🤙
thanks! glad to hear you enjoyed it! ill keep them coming 😃
😂😂😂🙏🏻
I'm thinking about getting a tw but will I ever grow out of it
depends on what you want to use it for, it doesn't have a lot of power but it's a lot of fun
TDubsKid I'm going to take it camping and like around town
It'd be great for that. I've owned a lot of bikes since my very first one (a tw200 from way back). at least you were in the recycle bin instead of the real trash can. HA!!!!
no thats our trash can hahahaha
Good video!
hey thanks!
