In this video we take a look in to the throw of Dave Chisnall, Chizzy!
All my video's are based around how to play darts as well as advise on equipment and general darts setup with the aim to guide dart players in their darting journey.
I am a full time darts coach working with PDC Professionals and armatures alike.
I throw around an 80 average myself with my left hand due to in injury and dartitis in my right arm.
I may on occasion use footage from the Professional darts corporation (the P.D.C) as well as The British Darts organisation (The B.D.O). These are used under fair use legislation and all credit should be given the rightful creators.

Nice video mate, good analysis! Thanks for the mention too! I remember that day well. Chizzy was totally different in person to how he is in interviews, in interviews he seems painfully shy but he was very chatty and funny actually. He made me laugh when he picked his Target darts off the display stand to have a throw and the first thing he did was take the rings off the stems. He chucked them across the floor and said "I cant stand those things lol!" Then he was showing me footage of him on his phone hitting a golf ball like Happy Gilmour lol! Good guy, I liked meeting him :)
Thanks for sharing that story mate, class. :)
@@Straightdarts no worries! :)
Very interesting video If you see his throw on tv I always think how does he do it. But now I know because of this vid
One of my favorite throws to watch and it looks so perfect... Analyse the Ross Smith throw, please 👍❤️
Great angles showing how he’s able to throw! Thanks for posting!
I really like these videos. I havent played darts in about 5 years now. Used to play in a local soft tip league. Wasn't that good lol. 2.6mpr. Wish your videos were around when I played. Lots of great info here. I still play every now and again but not like I used to. New job and schedule doesn't allow me to play league darts anymore. I really miss it.
Yep Chizzy is some player . Great vid really lets you see just how simple his throw is & even when he does kick or twitch , his throw remains the same . Good stuff , cheers 👍🎯🎯👍
One of my favourite players. His throw makes it look so easy. But hey, it works for him, I guess.
Love this video keep making these videos thanks man
great video! thanks for the content :)
some more suggestion would be Gilding, Rock, one of the Rodriguez brothers, Dolan and Aspinall
Great video as always. A couple of suggestions for others: Chris Mason and Jeffrey de Zwaan. Keep up the great work!
Good job
Another great video buddy
Love this series!!
I bet you’re probably bombarded with requests I’m chipping in with a few, I’d love to see a Martin Schindler analysis, for all us short arses out here 😆
Cool video. It's interesting that all that movement comes AFTER the release.
Hi mate, any chance you'd do a video on moving to playing with the left hand due to dartitis. Trying to do this myself and could do with some tips - cheers
That's a tricky one, iv privately coached a few players to swich hands and everyone was different. Happy to make a video on what I did though. :)
Great Video! Can we get a Chris Doby break down
Great video brother
My fav.thanks
Can you do Ricky Evans maybe? I'm very interested in how he can throw in this speed.
I'll see what shots I can find. :)
Would you consider doing a video on Joe Cullen? It shouldn't work but he's so good
It's in the works. :)
@@Straightdarts Oooh I'm excited, thank you. Subscribed!
Can you do roby John Rodriguez throw mate? Very under rated great character and great throw
I'll see what shot I can get. :)
People say he’s snatchy but that’s a smooth throw , not very authordox with the release well the follow through but he’s awesome
The release of the dart is at the perfect moment
@@harmvanderarm7553 my comment was meant for the follow through it’s like he almost doesn’t but I like his throw
Would you say holding the finger under the point like chizzy is a bad thing for a beginner player, as i do...?
Yeah, it's easy to push the dart off when you touch the point. :)
Thanks for the advice,I thought that, I will attempt to move that finger to the side.

Hey are u using dartstand in need to play darts in a rented apartment and want to buy dartstand witch one u perfer I dont want to shake board when hit by dart
No I hate them, I use a unicorn tour mate when I travel and stay it to the door. :)
How about a Joe Cullen analysis. 😎
It's in the works :)
Been trying to get my dart to flick up in the air but no luck. Always flies and lands straight
Instead of flicking the point you can grip right at the back or even slightly on the shaft the implement a small push on the rear of the barrel on release. It's much easier and works exactly the same. :)
@@Straightdarts wow thanks for the tip. i usually grip the front of the barrel which I guess is why its not landing up. Thanks for the tip mate
Do you think you could do bradley brooks i’ve been trying to find a video about it but no one’s made one 👍🏻
I'll check what footage I can get without copyright issues. :)
So do you just take all fingers off of the dart at the release point, is there no forward pushing motion from the fingers ?
You can either have a push off the fingers or a good flick though with the wrist. Some players do both. :)
@@Straightdarts Thanks, love the channel btw.
one last thing, when propelling the dart forward does the wrist flick start at beginning of throw or at the point of set up?
Don’t understand how these guys can hold the darts with basically 2 fingers. I can’t do it
