  • Short highlights of the drive way to Hans-Joachim Marseille's pyramid in the desert West of El-Alamein. The pyramid was build by Marseille's friends after the Second World War.
    There are no any guides or maps that can help you to reach that point, so we show you the location on the map and then show you the drive way to the pyramid since the spot we left the main highway.
    Our video will help you to find pyramid very easy when you go there.

    I also really liked "Der Stern von Afrika" (1957) movie. I have seen bacuffz's documentary, these images are very interesting!

    Thank for info, I've read that monument was build exactly where he hit the ground...I wonder if his soul visits from time to time.

      His death was due to a freak injury where his chest hit a forward section of the cockpit after he bailed out, due to smoke in the cockpit.

    Is kidney ridge possible to get to? I can’t find much info on where you can tread and can’t. Wanting to visit Alamein

      I find it on the map. There is an intersection of the Petrol Road south of the Kidney Ridge. Map shows that there is a road goin to the Kidney but not asphalt, so this is what is risky to go and I didn't. Petrol Road is the one going south-west to the desert from El Alamein till the big cross road with many gas stations around. North of this cross road is the Kidney Ridge.

      You are 15min away from the pyramid to the south of your resort. But you cannot go direct, you have to use roads, so you should to make a big circle. Google map show 30 min drive total.

    How did you know there were no mines there?

    • @ErwinRommelDesertFox
      @ErwinRommelDesertFox  Рік тому +1

      Well, it's very simple... If there would be mins then people who built this pyramid would find it or die on it. If not then for sure camels and Bedouins already would make a step on it during 80 years. No El Alamein is going to be a business center in Egypt, so the area around is clean. Deep in the desert for sure not, but radius of 20km of El Alamein its for sure clean.

      @@ErwinRommelDesertFox that’s brilliant! I like your style! Did you see kidney ridge whilst you were on that track? Have you been able to pin point it?

    • @ErwinRommelDesertFox
      @ErwinRommelDesertFox  Рік тому +2

      No, it's very hard. You can see the video on this channel called "El Alamein Today", you will see that outside the road it's not easy to look deep into the desert: all objects getting blurring. It's just damn horizon line that is merges with the skyline, nothing more. And you not even sure what is still the land and what is already the sky. In the winter it's possible to have clean picture in the desert, but not in summer.

      Also, as I see on the Google map, the roads are surrounded with hills that also looks like ridges. You need to get spot on the edge to look to the Kidney Ridge and it's not easy, no roads there. The one is there it's a restricted petroleum area and military will not allowed to pass. So, there is only one way is to drive there by the only road existing. It is looks like they work there, whole ridge already looks like mine or canyon (gold or marble).
