Good review Jase. I like the kit. I’ll give Wingsy a try soon as I decide which of their kits I want to build.

Hi Jason, Thanks for another great First Impressions. I have never heard of this company before. It looks like they have come up with a really nice kit of the 109. Looking at Scalemates. it looks like they produce about a dozen kits, biased around 3 or 4 different planes. Thanks for sharing. Have a great day. Jeff

I'm part way through this and the E-7....so far the only issue is you need to make sure the exhausts are as free of material at the ends that go into the fuselage. The front where they go needs to be reamed out too. Do all this before you add the etch though! Great kits. 🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦

Some Bf-109Es had their tail wheels fixed in the down locked position, so they put a bit of sheet metal over the tail wheel opening.

I recently obtained the Wingsy 1/48 Mitsubishi Ki51 "Sonia", an Imperial Japanese Army single engine Attack Bomber, not unlike a Stuka. It is a VERY nice kit, eith 4 options also. 1 from China in 1940/41, 1 from the Dutch East Indies in 1944, 1 from the Phippines in 1944 and the last probably a Kamikaze from a Japan base in 1945. And the colours were rather varied too.

    Hi Jason, Great review.
Having built one of the Airfix E3 versions of the 109, PE aside as airfix doesn't come with it, apart from the excellent cockpit detail in this one compared to the Airfix one, the rest of the detail I would say is the same as or slightly better than the Airfix version.
On another point, was there plastic alternatives to the PE?
Finally, paint schemes, love the look of the 1939 version as something different from the usual ones with splinter camouflage and/or mottled fuselage.

Hi Gary, I think this stands up well to the Tamiya and Eduard ones I have reviewed, I don't have the Airfix one so glad of your insides. no I think you have to use the photo etch that may put some off??

Just wondering, were any planes ever designed with modelbuilders in mind...
