When you get a 96 year old ace in a 109, for the love of christ, put a couple cockpit cameras in there and mike him up so we can hear what he has to say. What a lost opportunity.
I was thinking the same!!

Los mejores pilotos de toda la historia, pesele a quien le pese ❤
One can only imagine the flood of memories and emotions elicited by this flight for this veteran.
You can tell by the way he flies that he still has fond memories of strafing enemies of the fatherland.
The old Nazi bastard wasn't flying it .Hopefully the stress was the end of him .
@@emantide6306 Wtf is wrong with you?
Eman Tide the luftwaffe wasnt part of the nazi party.
@@emantide6306 Jeez man, war isn't black and white. Everybody was forced to fight, didn't mean he believed in their principals
Eman Tide are you disabled?
I can only relate to Erich in Battlefield V...
Love how even though he was on the wrong side of the war, he still gets loved . Good job hunanity for realising war is not the right idea
Humanity realizes they were fighting valiantly for whatever their states thought was a good reason to fight and honoring their bravery and sacrifice.
“Unless you tolerate evil, there will never be peace,” inherently contradictory statement that basically says unless you can live with actions of another that you find increasing your vulnerability and that go against what you believe, which is usually the result of someone who might desire to rule over a larger dominion and has the resources to collect the lesser‘s to become a greater and subsume you. Remember during elections people use force of the majority through vote.
That’s subjective my friend
Who says he was in the wrong side ?
Right side*
I'm a vet , not that old but still a Vet and from 1 combat Vet's point of view I see a very honored man who was called into service by his country and that is all. He served his country and deserves to be honored and treated with respect as all us veterans understand , he was not a monster just a young man called to service by his country !
So you are a veteran AND a doctor of animals, how lovely :D
Troll Stone Jesus how old are you
true
Thank you for your service
zulkarnain wulfgang well Jesus is thought to be around 2.3 thousand years old, and reigns in heaven. As for the commenter, probably a youngin 😂
Wow he can barely walk but he flies like an ace
German guality for you
The ability never really leaves.
Hes not the one flying hes in the back 🤧 🤣🤣
@@BlorgusBlunt its a trainer both seats can control but the front seat takes control if the trainer fails
I’m not sure he actually flew
Seeing a 109 with a Rolls Royce Merlin engine somehow feels wrong.
Totally agree, it was meant to have a DB605 engine, the Merlin was for the Spitfire.
Absolutely yes
@@user-sq1gm2jd7g that's because this isn't Bf109, but a Spanish manufactured HA-1112-M1L Buchón
@@andrewbirch5738 really? I didnt know. Please, can u tell me more? :D
@@andrewbirch5738 please tell us more
*accidently goes to paris and starts bombing*
"sorry, old habits"
@Hans Liebestaube Not wanting to be a Debbie Downer for you but i think it’s a joke.
@Hans Liebestaube They were also carrying bombs sometimes
@Hans Liebestaube actually the bf 109 could be a pure fighter or a fighter bomber and although this one isn't fitted with bombs it could carry bombs and yeah the first guy was joking
@Hans Liebestaube you do understand that carrying 3 bombs isnt difficult for such a plane right?
@Hans Liebestaube so whats the difference between two planes carrying bombs?
Love the sound of the bird and hats off to the veteran
Wow very Beautiful flight!
UK left the EU
Nobody:
Grandpa Erich: ignites engine
*loads ammo
i dont recommend doing this with a japanese pilot, cause he aint coming down unless its at a 90 degree angle and towards a warship
Viscera kamikaze
Nah, there are no pilots who were trained at this and that are still alive
Lol
@@MCAroon09 there are a few Kamikaze pilots who dont so there Mission and everyone pretend like they didnt exist
😂
I bet flying that day he was 20 years old again. I say that because two years ago i attended an air show and flew in a Huey for the first time since 1970. It all came rushing back, and in my head I was 18 again crisp and clear. But this time when we landed, I got out much slower than back then. It’s amazing how most things in our life’s journey we forget, but something like this brings you right back like it was yesterday. This man is amazing at 94 to do what he did
Amazing plane and pilot !
