still the best rts game, they dont make good games anymore
Flame throwers deals more damage to infantry and structures. For defensive players, build tank traps at the perimeter of your camp so vehicles can not penetrate your HQ. Or build tank traps and wires behind it so even troops are not able to enter your camp. Make a chokepoint using your tank traps and wires so all your enemies will be forced to use that passage only. Then line it with atleast 3 Anti-tanks and gunners. But i usually use 5 anti tanks, and 2 snipers for long range shots and foxholes or MGs for additional defenses.. Just watch out for Tigers or Pershings, tank traps are no use to them. They can easily break your defenses. 😉
Nuff Love for this comment: Man, building tank-traps at my base perimeter has improved my surviveability two-fold. Make no mistake, I'm STILL gettin my azz kicked...it just take a lil bit longer now! ...🤣🤣🤕
Good tips, Struggled to get into the game and the community can be really brutal sometimes. These definitely have helped so far and I will try them all out

thanks! I like rts but I've always been pretty bad at it. Struggled my way through starcraft 1 and 2 because I like the universe, and want to get into this because I've become super interested in WWII history. Watching this has made me feel a bit more confident!

Nuff Thanks to you for the Tactical Task-group jewel(AKA The control-group). As someone mentioned below, they dont teach you that technique in the tutorial yet it is absolutely indespensable!

Wartem you should look for the Europe at War mod for the game in Steam. Its free and even better than the original game! Also there are a lot of other mods for it on Steam, all great to!

You stop your units, and it depends on the cover on both sides
Just use cover and flank :D
Automatic weapons mow down infantry fast up close. It's really worth the investment equipping Rifleman squads with the BAR (global upgrade). It gets even better in CoH2, you can buy individual bazookas in the barracks with US Forces.
Its just one of CoH's stupid systems that attempt to capture realism but fails miserably as none of the firefights make any fucking sense. Troops at point blank missing each other and taking minutes to finish off the last guy in a squad? Sorry but this game is incredibly overrated.

@@flaminghailstorm9149 That actually sounds really cool, I'd play that so fast lol. I'm a big fan of both games, and mixing the two sounds like a perfect blend (if it's done correctly, of course).
basic training didn't shown us how to give advanced order in capturing points

Currently enjoying the game(I am new to this), even though I struggle against normal (CPU) because on how quickly the axis faction can release tanks.

I just started playing COH 1, I have played some of the Campaigns which wasn't to bad. But when I play a Skirmish I get my resources And start building. it seems I don't get finish and get attacked by Russian tanks and its all over. Its seems I don't have enough time. Your videos have helped me. Really do like your videos!!!!

at 3:00 you said it doesnt make sense to you that hay bails are heavy cover. They do stop bullet fire usually, especially back in ww2. maybe now days a very high powered rifle could some times go through but the bullet would be slowed a lot.
So far, this game is the best RTS I've ever played(I've had it for about 2 weeks now). I only have one criticism: The matchmaking, in the Ranked Automatch mode, I'm getting matched with seasoned veterans that absolutely demolish me...LOLLOLLLL😲😳🤕🤕🤕. I seldom get paired against a new player like me that is just learning the ropes. But its all good tho, that tough-love is gonna make me one hell of a Commander in a few weeks,....WATCH!😳
Unfortunately there aren’t a ton of new players, so it will be a uphill fight for a while :/ come play EF mod with me!
There are not many noobs because it’s an old game. I hooked with this abt 7yrs ago and it was brutal. Eventually I got better by getting my ass kicked and watching replays of how it was, rinse and repeat.

Thank you for the tips, I started playing on 2016 but only with my family or friends against AI or playing alone in campaign and now I wanna start playing multiplayer. Maybe i'll get recked so hard but I dont care i'll just try to get better instead.

tip is to play on AUTOMATCH mode, because on standard multiplayer lobs it shows your stats and in the beggining since you are learning, with bad stats you will get kicked often

Do you make craters for light cover by blasting your own mines? Seems to work well in the absence of British slit trenches, and they slow down vehicles passing through.
No, I never waste my mines to make cover. I do often put mines in front of heavy cover that the enemy might use like a vehicle wreck.

What about supply depot upgrades to make riflemen rank up faster? Looks like you don't use medic stations too. Speaking of which, it'd be better to get some kind of reward such as manpower or XP instead of getting 1 unwanted new rifleman squad when it gets full. And those medics don't even heal troops in the very least, other than pick up wounded men on the ground.
Yeah I just covered some tips, not all of them. I only use medical stations if I’m playing infantry heavy and want a reward for my losses. Supply depot upgrades are also very good for bringing down upkeep costs but I prefer to spend fuel on getting vehicles out earlier before I buy them.
I bought this game on sale and my tanks kept dying to infantry. It was pretty frustrating. Need a video like this to not suck

I just play with AI and I was only using cheats because I did not know how to play.
Now hopefully, I can win a game without cheats. I'm still setting them to Easy.

Hi, i just wanna ask. how do you look where the troop is? for example in 8:21 you opened the list of your troops and you just click on the troop and it show you where it is or you need to press something more? (sorry for my ENG)
Just open that list and double click the unit, that will take you directly to them!

@@MaxwellCovington thanks for your reply. Im trying to use obs to record games to, but when I play back my recordings the screen has a terrible flickering. It does not occur while playing the game and recording it, it only appears in the recorded videos. All my settings seem to be correct. Really annoying..

Maxwell Covington:: what's the best thing to do after building barrack?, i buy this, and left alone, guess cuz i did not know till later. I can also play in a skirmish, so i reinstalled it and play a little more now, i was playing campaigns but did not get far, that's when i uninstalled it, and went men of war as2, Lol. but back now on CoH skirmishing only till i get better, its actually fun once you start getting the hang of it. but i want to learn a little more about what to do? Also, did you keep ur keybinds default or did customize them?
Rom3 usually what I do is get 3-4 rifleman. After that if the enemy is using a lot of infantry I’ll get BARs and if not I’ll build a supply yard and go for a fast M8(always upgrades it’s armor) after that I’ll usually go T4 and get tanks and go from there

Love the game but I don't feel like company leader, I feel like I am team, squad, platoon leader all in one, that's heavy micro management, can't use the army tactics efficiently.
Hope company of heroes 2 a.i. is better gonna play it after I complete 1.

I thought it did XD well not all the men fire while capturing :P
Ah, that is indeed true. It is specially noteworthy with heavy weapons, like Flamethrowers.
I was always under the presumption that squads took more damage while capping as well
@@dylanfraser1111 They do not, although cappign usually means they are in the open, so while the modifiers are still the same, they stand to receive more damage than usual.

There should be a pause/ break button on your keyboard, if you hit that you can pause the game vs ai.
