I recently bought the 97 KT in .22, with the black polymer stock. As a new shooter, it really flatters my ability. It is far more accurate, than I could ever be. I have only been shooting a week and already getting good grouping on the small match targets at 30 yards. I am definitely not a marksman, but this rifle makes me feel as though I am. Thank you that was a great review. 😊

Absolutely torn between these two rifles, based in the UK so we are limited powerwise, but I've been yearning for the 97K for a while. I'm still leaning towards the 97 for range work but the weight puts me off. We shall see! Great review!

Great review fella. I have two 95’s in 22 and 177 and both are absolutely amazing rifles and are the gun you can carry around all day due to their lightness, but don’t think the weight means that Weihrauch haven’t cut any corners as the build quality is as you’d expect from Weihrauch. I’ve shot so much small game and pests with both and are very accurate once you get the feel of them. I also have the 97k in blue laminate and yes it’s a tad on the heavier side but I use my primos gen 3 trigger sticks with the rifle and the two combined makes a great marriage as you always have a sturdy platform to shoot from and this will aid pellet on pellet as this 97 will deliver time and time again.
I do however use my 95’s for most hunting due to their lightness and they perform just as well once dialled in and you’ve found the preferred pellet as mine isn’t that pellet fussy but I tend to use webley accupells as they give me the best results.

Exactly the first two air rifles in my collection I started this year , only in standard beach both . Only 12 ft lbs tho but still awesome . Subconsciously this video may have influenced my decision. Like you said the 97 is more of a bench rest target gun but the 95 is more of a hunter . Cheers for the vid man would love to see some 120 yard target work from yourself

My wife has the 95 and I have the 97. I don't think that there's any difference between the two in the context of build quality. But when it comes to accuracy, the 97 is a hands down winner over the 95, at least it is when shooting "off the bags". That said however, If I were still a hunter these days, I'd much prefer to cart the 95 around the paddocks, and in the field, under "normal" conditions, it would probably be capable enough of achieving "one minute of rabbit" at about 30-35 metres without too much trouble.
That said though, there's just something about picking up the 97 that I just can't put my finger on. It just puts an inexplicable smile on my face that the 95 doesn't. It's just got a "feel" to it that makes it special. I'll never sell it.

I have to say my old HW77 which is almost the same as the 97 is superbly balanced and I used to shoot hundreds of rounds in a session without getting overly tired.
In fact I’d argue the heavy weight works in its favour in that it stabilises the aim.

I own the HW97KT Blackline .22 and just purchased the Beeman R7. Both are fantastic. My HW97 is also custom inside and out. WHat tuning kit are you using in the 97 that you're getting 22 FPE? If I had to choose only one out of all Weihrouchs, I'd say it would be hw77k. Basically a hw97k without any unnecessary bells and whistles, but with awesome open sights. The only very slight downside compared to 97k is the cheekpiece of the stock if you use it strictly with a scope, but that is not a critical one.

Very good review, I've had many Weihrauch springers over the last 25 years, l think you've got the best 2 there, 95s are just the best break barrel out there, I'm not sure in the stroke difference, swept volume, l think there the same, but mine have been the same power around 15ft/lb in 22, always use FTTs in both, the 97 is a bit more quiet and bit less recoil but not much, also has slight edge on accuracy, the 97s design with the piston in the comp tube gives the gun a great balance, both real good Spring guns.

Hi there just come across your comparison between the hw95 and hw97 I own both these models and a tx200hc my 95 is modified with a custom stock a shorter hw80k barrel glided piston and custom spring and guides with a full ceracote on the metal work the 97 is also modified with glided piston and comp tube stage 1 v mach internals and the special edition hw77 green forest laminate stock both these guns are fantastic to shoot I would say the 97 has the edge slightly over the 95 because of the fixed barrel but the 95 is a tac driver at 30m now the tx200 the tx is the easiest to service just one bolt to remove the internals these come with the glided piston ( delrin bearings ) as standard and out the box I think shoot nicer than a stock 97 or 95 has nearly all weihrauchs twang out the box so a bit of twerking is required to get them as sweet as a standard tx just my thoughts. I'm over in the uk so have 12 ft lb limit all 3 guns are running between 11.7 and 11.8 all 3 are 177 great review looking forward to the next one. ALB phill
