Had a problem on the test ride after changing the transmission on the Can-Am Renegade 800 Beast! The secondary clutch tried to go through the clutch cover and then through my foot! Good thing I stopped in time to get towed home! Not it's time to repair the problem! Join us as we explore the inner workings of the secondary clutch and we learn how to fix the problem! Happy Wrenching Day!

Wore few those helix out on sleds but never on a atv yet lol . Look forward to seeing the install on your new parts .
Parts on the way I hope! I'm curious to find out if the duct tape will hold up for a ride or two! LOL
@@Broknex lol hope last bit should buy that gorilla tape i bought one man way beefer real sticky think is better but just my opinion lol .
Hey Broknex guy ... I had that exact thing same happen to me once. Torquing that secondary bolt like the service manual reads is really important. Love the duct tape repair ... YEAH BUDDY!!! ... LET'S RIDE!!!
I'm usually good about "proper torque specs" but I was in a hurry to ride and paid the price! LOL
great update my friend.
Thanks 👍
Appreciate the cover fix!
LOL Duct tape and bailing wire for the win!

Nice video. I'm not that handy when it comes to these things. But I enjoy this video and learned from it. Thank you for sharing my friend! :)
Thanks for watching!👍
Don't reuse the secondary bolt, get a new one, they stretch apparently and even if you put loctite on it, it comes loose! Everytime you remove the secondary, replace the bolt and loctite it! Primary you can reuse the bolt. I've seen this happen about 4 times with people on rides now!
Interesting, Rob! Thank you very much! I'll get a couple on order! Makes sense! This is an 11 year old machine that's been run HARD and put through its paces. I've had the clutches off numerous times and NEVER replaced the secondary bolt! I guess it's time NOW! HAHAHA I've been afraid to loctite them bolts in for fear of how well loctite works. I actually think I over tightened the bolt which will cause it to stretch and aluminum to squish out of the way...
@@Broknex The Blue loctite is still easy to get the bolt off the secondary. Torqued to 44lbs with blue loctite on a new bolt and it shouldn't come off till you take it off! Good luck!
another interesting video darling. I appreciate the way you deliver. You aren't boring at all lol
I appreciate that!
At least you had spare parts. I gotta get out in the shop and figure out why our Honda wont turn Oh the fun lol
Yep! Always have to work on the toys!
Quick repair, but when the new parts arrive, you'll be flying again!! Yaaaaa.... Cheers!
You bet! Thanks!
Same thing happened to my renegade I just cut a piece of sheet metal put it inside the clutch cover and riveted the metal to the cover and the the piece that was cut out to the metal then used some silicone, you can noice the the black rivets I used and a little gap were the piece is in place but it doesn’t look as bad as taping or gluing it.
Yeah. Tape looks bad, but it did the trick till the new cover showed up!
Did you have a clunking noise when starting out
That machine always seems to have clunks and bumps. It seemed to work perfectly right up until that bolt popped out. Ni real warning
Nice repair. Something always breaks. Come check out my giveaway video. thanks
