    What are all the options on this feature, like (i) for insert (b) for break

      Here is a link to the LightBurn documentation describing the keyboard shortcuts for node editing: lightburnsoftware.github.io/NewDocs/EditNodes.html

      Sorry for the reply to such an old question, but you can also hover over the node editor button to see the hotkeys.

    If I put an offset around text, can this method be used to change the offset?

    • @milaserguy
      @milaserguy  3 місяці тому

      Generally, you can just add an additional offset to the original offset, but it might lose some detail in the process.

    Help please. I deleted a line between points and when I tried to connect them together it would not let me. When I grab a point it turns to a red square. Hope that makes sense.

      Found out the issue. It's in the settings and you have to set your snap settings for lines and objects.

      @@loraray1632, go to edit at the top left of Lightburn and then the settings tab. In the window that pops up, there are the snap settings in the middle area. there is a tab for snapping/snap to objects and one snap to Grid. I have both selected. Above these tabs on the right is Grid Contrast/ I have this set to off. Visual Grid Spacing/ I have it set to 10.00. Grid Snap Distance/ I have set it to 1.0. Click-Selection Tolerance (pixels)/ I have this set to 3.0. Object Snap Distance(Pixels)/ I have this at 10.

    @3:19 "if a shape can attach" How do you know if shapes can attach? I've broken the lines, and now can't connect the freakin' dots! Lol. How do you attach 2 dots from separate lines?

    • @milaserguy
      @milaserguy  7 місяців тому +1

      Sorry for replying to the old thread. In the latest versions, they have gotten a lot more aggressive at re-attaching nodes, but sometimes they don't want to attach if you attempt to attach a square node to a round node, etc.

    was there some secret keystroke ;) ?? Because whenever I click the node editor and then click on a shape, it doesn't turn my shapes into nodes.

      try ungrouping shapes first maybe

    • @milaserguy
      @milaserguy  Рік тому +1

      Sorry, I am totally a youtube n00b and didn't see these comments in forever. I assume you figured it out by now, but if you make a shape using the shape tools (circle, rectangle, hexagon) you have to right click the shape and choose "Convert to Path" before you can edit nodes.

    • @HaltWhoGoesThere
      @HaltWhoGoesThere 6 місяців тому

      @@milaserguy What if you dont make a shape using the shape tools?? I have the same issue as this commenter, but I uploaded an SVG file into lightburn. I click node editor and then click on a line in my file and it highlights it but NO nodes show up. Now what?! I also tried to right click and convert to path but that option is greyed out and not available.

      @@HaltWhoGoesThere is it a group? You cannot node edit a group (the selection would be a mix of dots and dashed lines)

      @@milaserguy It is not a group. I ungrouped everything and all I do is select one shape of my group. No nodes show up at all! On the whole project! No matter what piece I select.

    Make it look sooo simple yet ive spent days tryna close 4lines and still cant

    • @milaserguy
      @milaserguy  Рік тому

      Sometimes lines can be a little finicky, especially if you are trying to connect smooth points. I have also had situations where a shape has a strange path that takes a while to figure out how it is attached (I don't know how to explain this, its like the path has a point somewhere way out of place). You can email me the file to laser at thrca.com and I can help you with it.

    Each time to try to "break" a shape, it clicks off of the entire shape. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong here

    • @milaserguy
      @milaserguy  9 місяців тому

      This is actually expected. When you break the first time, it becomes an "open" line. When you break an open line, it becomes 2 separate shapes, so you have to select which one you want to work with after that.

    • @milaserguy
      @milaserguy  7 місяців тому

      On a side note, as of 1.4.03, this no longer happens and the shape(s) remain selected after breaking.
