Holy shit does this work. I got a lot of health issues and I'm 52, lost my entire pancreas, spleen, etc etc which cause a lot of hip and back issues (malnutrition). Well I've been stuck at 150-160 yrds carry and I just practiced your tips and my average is 200 yrds and my best was 218 yrds carry. This is after only 15 minutes... I can't thank you enough for these priceless tips!
This was helpful, I am 58, new grip (I held club wrong for 45 years), and new driver. I still have good club head speed for a man my age (100-110) I just don't have the confidence yet. Like I said this will help! Big thank you!
Bry, I am an 18 handicap player and have really been struggling with the driver off the tee. I watched this video this morning and went straight to the range and hit 50 balls.Without exaggeration the impact was instant. My drives were better than I have been hitting , and more consistent too . I now can’t wait to take this to the course tomorrow where hopefully it will continue. I will report back. Thank you very much
Great tips that work "THANK YOU" - I've added an average of 20-30 yards to my drives which for some players is not a lot, but for me it's an huge gain. I'm now looking forward to keeping up with the big boys!
Great video! The one thing I noticed during your swing is your belt buckle was almost pointing the opposite of the target, but as soon as you make the transition to the downswing the belt buckle was already pointed at the ball and your hands had barely moved downward. That's a lot of whip action! It's like your lower body has already "left the barn" before the hands and upper body have started to move on the downswing. My question is what's your first movement or "feel" movement to start the downswing?
Thanks Bry! I play to a 7 handicap and am 72 years old. I have just started using your methods, but when I do it all correctly, I do get an extra 20 yards. My playing partners who are mostly longer than me are amazed when I outdrive them. Lots of fun!
I’ve been playing for 8 months. My average driver distance from my Shot Scope watch over 9 rounds is 203 yards. I went to the range yesterday after watching this video and my Trackman average was 233 yards 🤯💣💣💣 The best part for me was Tip 3 to shift the weight. I’ve subscribed! Thank you!
nice lesson. i do all off these except #1 as I tend to duck hook it. scrolled down and seen your response to that with to avoid flipping hands too quickly. will try it next time at the range. you explain this in great detail. next time someone asks me how to hit it long off the tee i'll send him your vid
I’ve just got back from the range and these REALLY work! It was freezing but still got 25+ extra. The strong grip and extra turn especially seemed to generate a better club position on impact and ball speed. Superb tips, feeling great now 👏
For past 2 weeks, playing and at range my Driver were really bad. Watched these tips yesterday and just tried these at the range. This really did work, most of my shots were straight or with little fade and were longer than my usual.
Good tips will go and try them out this week. Just started playing again after a 15 year break due to work and locations. I am 50 now and have what I feel is a very bendy arm swing with little leg involvement. I am hitting 260-275 at the range. What would you expect to see as a distance improvement if I could get my form corrected?
sounds great...do I also need to change from a stiff shaft to a regular shaft and from 63g to 50g? I've known as a very slow smooth swinger of the club because I've always thought I don't want to hurt myself. I'm getting old, I'm 74 and I hit it 210 and I'm happy/sad, but I would like to hit it 225... I hope this works.
You are maybe not a coach, but your blogs are great! I am one of those armature golfers who has the weight mainly on my left side, I do so as I am a pensioner and can only take the club back 3/4 with my left arm straight, if I try to coil back more, I end up bending the left arm resulting in some crap shots! I use my left leg like a spring gate post and the club being the gate, I play the ball in line with my left foot and I average 250 yards! I could not reach that distance when I started the game in my 20s! But I will give those 5 tips a go come Monday Morning Robert! Good luck with your blogs, I think them as you get straight to the lesson without too much gab!
Bloody brilliant Bry, tried tip 1 today what a revelation, drove long and straight and won our seniors comp today which for me is brilliant as i won the Fore right trophy for most fairways missed last year
Yo Bry, I watched this video a few days ago, and today (9th Jan) was my first time to try them out, so wider stance, right shoulder down, weight on the right leg and tee'd the ball up higher. And they worked, unbelieveable, at least 6 out of 8 of my Driver tee shots went 30 yds longer and straighter. I was hitting 3 hybrid or 5 iron second shots instead of 3 wood. So, thanks very much, I've saved the clip to my favourites and subscribed, can't wait for a few more gems like that, brilliant
I worked & refined your tips/technique on the range before taking it to the course . Typically my good drives average 270 yds. The first time using your technique on course with my golfing mates I was consistent dropping 290-300 yd bombs and hit my first 300 yd drive. My mates were blown away. What an amazing feeling! Thank you so much for the great tips! I have subscribed. Keep ip the great content. Cheers! Chris
I am a relatively high handicapper working hard to get scores in the mid-eighties and have been hitting all my clubs very well and consistent lately with the exception of my driver. Having tried out the "5 tips" I went out to the driving range today and was amazed with the results - gained between 40 and 50 yards! I think my regular golf partners may be in for a surprise when we play again seeing that they are used to me struggling getting off the tees. Thanks for the guidance Bry!
As a serial slicer I’ve just started to utilise the body turn. For me that’s given me the best and most consistent results of all the things I’ve tried with driver. Fully agree with the commit stats aswell
Just FYI I changed to the orange tee from the pink after seing your 5 Tips video (just seen your video in tee height) so guess that has also helped. Only thing I am trying now at the Range is reducing loft of driver by one degree to see if that will run out even further but think as a 60 year old I'm getting a bit greedy and of course dont have equipment to measure fully spin rates/launch angle etc. Have you published anymore vodeos with James -26 HCP?
Great tips! Thank you! When you say move 70/30 onto your back foot are you still shifting most of the weight to the front foot on the downswing?? Or are you feeling like you keep more weight on the back foot for the whole shot?? It looks like you almost hit off the back leg and your front leg kind of moves back and away. Thank you
With having more weight on the right. Is there just as much emphasis to get weight to the left like irons. What are the consequences of weight hangs back. Can’t wait to try these.
Can’t wait to work on this. I did pick up yards by lifting the left heel when you showed it to Liam… If anyone knows about this kind of thing, it’s you!
We all want big nasty high 💣... It's been a while since I've seen your vids mate - what we all needed for inspo to get down the range after a few months off the course - good man.
When's this speed clinic please bry ??? Loving the tips and the wider stance is helping but still getting the odd sky shot maybe 1 per 18 hole game but changed tee's to smaller pink castle could be that ???
This is a great breakdown. I have gradually progressed into this setup working with a golf instructor. I gradually worked my way from a slice, to a fade, to a draw following a similar process you described and now into a snap hook to the left. I am right handed. I have moved back to a weaker grip and more upright stance producing a light fade. My question is have you ever dealt with a snap hook following these 5 steps due to over cooking the grip or getting stuck. Any thoughts? I would like to get back to a draw driver which is basically the shot shape of the rest of my bag. Thanks John.
Thanks mate 👍🏻 you may have allowed the ball position to creep back every so slightly. Try getting that ball way forward. Just inside the left heel and let me know how it goes 😎👍🏻
@@bryrobertslongdrive Thank you for the tip. I did notice that if I go too far forward (trying to get as much swing speed before impact), I get a fade to slice result. Would you concur with this? Trying to see if i am on track with your swing thoughts. I will certainly give the just inside the left heel position a go. Best. John.
These are amazing tips! I am a bit of a special case as I play with one arm only (right arm, RH clubs), but I have applied all of this and I am bombing them 250+ carry now. I found one cruicial thing for me (but I guess it will apply to others as well), as like a #6 tip perhaps: wrists and arm(s) need to be quite relaxed and almost "passive" feeling, because then the hinging from the hip rotation accelerates the clubhead to absolute madness - all without feeling like you are doing much at all. I find myself cramping up sometimes and then I snap-hook them 180 into the woods on the left.
I’m thinking of giving up golf because I am so inconsistent and lack distance off the tee. If this works Bry then I will carry on playing. Nadolig Llawen I chi
I’ve got a problem swaying and it’s been reduced when I consciously turn my right butt check. I’m going to try teeing higher and having a stronger grip. Great tips.
Pinehurst North Carolina. We have public and semi private ranges and some places stores and country clubs with track man studios. I am not sure what our longest range is 350 maybe. What are you thinking?
Subscribed...Good stuff. 2 things I spotted - closed stance and shoulders closed as well. Just closing the shoulders is the best thing any player can do on any shot.
I am only 5ft 7in, don't have custom made golf clubs and think my driving is not too bad. Do these tips help all size and shapes of golfers no matter the driver they are using?
New fan and subscriber. Was always told by a decent golfer I play with a lot that driver is the same swing as irons. Have never been good with Driver even though I am as big and strong as the next fella. Thanks for showing me proper technique. Look forward to practicing your tips!
Great Video Bry! I do *most* of this... definitely could use more turn, I will try more weight shift onto the rght leg. I find I have trouble squaring the clubface at impact. Any tips? Perhaps the stronger grip will fix that... I'll give it a whirl.
Great tips Bry, tried 4 out of 5 tips (strong grip caused me to hook it so haven't figured out yet) however. The other 4 tips did give me 20 - 30 yards more carry and my dispersion left to right was no different to normal. Well impressed, I'll be grinding this technique
Great tips, convinced me to get to the range while the missus is watching stricky and search for that extra 20 yards!! Would be good to see a video on some specific exercises to improve strength and speed in the golf swing?
Nice one Bry. I definitely get more distance from the wider stance and more tilt but I sometimes find that I over draw the ball when I do it. Any tips to prevent that? Weaker grip?
Bry great vid but he is a thought, the average age of club golf members is 56 and most of the guys and women I see play regularly are older. Obviously mobility is more restricted when you get older so how about a few tips and thoughts about maintaining distance as players get on in age, just a thought !!
Hi Bry , that was very impressive but I am a little confused re the weight positioning as I watched a similar video by Tom Saguto who put most of the weight on the lead foot ie...60/40 and he was carrying 280 averages ! the rest of the setup was similar to yours ie...tilting back from the ball and forward ball position , just curious as to which method is kinder to a Seniors back ?
To get the most power in the swing having 60/40 on the right (if right handed) will help the body shift to allow more power. Everyone is different. I could still carry the ball 320 with 60/40 left but my angle of attack would be lower and spin would be higher. As I senior I would go 60/40 right as the body will fight less when turning back 👍🏻
@@bryrobertslongdrive ah Gr8 Bry many thanks for that clarity , one last Q i had watched videos recently where it basically said my grip ( which has always been interlocking as i have medium size hands ) is Quote killing my game !! i haven't tried switching to overlap or Vardon yet but just curious with your 5 steps to hitting bombs which grip is better ie...more stable for releasing that kind of new possible power gain ? What part of N Wales are you based in Bry ? I lived in Colwyn Bay for a few years in late 60's while at Wireless College there . Gratitude again for your time and going to try your method on Monday .Cheers.
Hi Bry. I recently changed my grip to a jumbo max large. I definitely hit the ball further but blasting everything miles right. It's not slicing or fading it's just going way right. Any tips on how to cure this. I feel like the grip is far too big and should have maybe went for a medium.
Can you get me a new back and hips. Without those I cannot turn. Is there way to increase speed without there full commitment to the hips and lower body or am I simply limited to what I can do. I think maybe a release drill might help a lot. i tend to cricket it. I hit it straight most of the time ad can get around a course but OH how I would love that extra yardage. thumbed up.
You will be limited slightly if you can’t use the lower body as much as you’d like to of course. Try using a softer flex driver shaft to get that extra kick at impact for a little more speed. Also do some swings with the club on your knees if you can to speed the arms up 👍🏻💪🏻
Sorry Bry, it's 11.30 on a Saturday night. I don't have a driver in hand, but a bottle of JD. 😁 I promise I'll try harder tomorrow. Seriously, though great video and thank you. Stay safe and Keep the content it coming. 👍👍
@@bryrobertslongdrive Had a great session on the range. The stronger grip definitely helps and the weight back seemed to give me more time to make a full swing and commit 😁👍. The stronger grip also kept the club in front of my hands, it wasn't dropping under my trail wrist and getting inside.. Could actually feel the power rather than just speed. Thanks Bry 😁👍
I’ve been using the tips for the past week keep in mind that I’ve been fighting a fade to a slice for the past two years with no distance 230-240 yards into the trees. Now I’ve been hitting straight with a draw 260+. Besides the strong grip shifting my weight to the right has helped a lot but mostly, committing to the shot and letting it go has the ball flying as never before. Thank you so much, please keep the information coming.
I watched this- took a few swings here at home (no ball) just to get a feel. I went to the range and applied all 5 tips- my very first swing produced about +20 yards straight away! It only got better- What I couldn't believe was not only did I hit between 20 and 30 yards further, but they were straight and a couple even had a nice draw!! Best tip I have ever had for the driver for sure. Thanks Bry!
I have put these into my practice rounds and have seen straighter shots but have seen a decrease in club head speed from 105-109 down to 90-97 how do I increase that club head speed to hit bombs please help
I try not to mention more of the technical stuff as majority of amateur golfers don’t have access to launch monitors and data such as swing path. Just confuses too many people 😂

Pinehurst North Carolina. We have public and semi private ranges and some places stores and country clubs with track man studios. I am not sure what our longest range is 350 maybe. What are you thinking?
Hi Bry have you had any issues with the auto flex shafts at your speeds ?
None at all mate, very good shaft 💪🏻 I’d try the ACCRA M0 1st 😉
Subscribed...Good stuff. 2 things I spotted - closed stance and shoulders closed as well. Just closing the shoulders is the best thing any player can do on any shot.
Welcome to the channel buddy 😎
I am only 5ft 7in, don't have custom made golf clubs and think my driving is not too bad. Do these tips help all size and shapes of golfers no matter the driver they are using?
Help everyone buddy 💪🏻 get grinding and see them 💣 fly down the fairway 😎💪🏻
Hello fantastic Bryan
Max golf pro.
What is the name of this golf course
You are from UK.i envoy watching you.
Thanks buddy 👍🏻 my home course (Holyhead golf club)
Love this Bry, can't wait to try this out in the spring. Thank you.
Good man 💪🏻👊🏻
Nice instruction. How far are you driving the ball in this video? Thanks!
Thanks mate 👍🏻😎 was around 340/350, it’s cold 🥶
@@bryrobertslongdrive wow
New fan and subscriber. Was always told by a decent golfer I play with a lot that driver is the same swing as irons. Have never been good with Driver even though I am as big and strong as the next fella. Thanks for showing me proper technique. Look forward to practicing your tips!
Totally different swings. Let me know how the new driver swing goes 😉💪🏻
Great Video Bry! I do *most* of this... definitely could use more turn, I will try more weight shift onto the rght leg. I find I have trouble squaring the clubface at impact. Any tips? Perhaps the stronger grip will fix that... I'll give it a whirl.
Give it a try mate. Yes the stronger grip will help you square it up a little easier 👍🏻
Great tips Bry, tried 4 out of 5 tips (strong grip caused me to hook it so haven't figured out yet) however. The other 4 tips did give me 20 - 30 yards more carry and my dispersion left to right was no different to normal. Well impressed, I'll be grinding this technique
My man 💪🏻 make sure the ball position is forward on the inside of that left heel 👊🏻😎
Great tips, convinced me to get to the range while the missus is watching stricky and search for that extra 20 yards!! Would be good to see a video on some specific exercises to improve strength and speed in the golf swing?
Can certainly do that 😉💪🏻
Gained 7 mph in swing speed by doing this 👍🏻 have only tried it briefly so might be even more once I get more used to it, good tips man!
Boooom 💪🏻 class mate, keep at it 😎👊🏻
Just happens my clubs are in the house,
Just happens I forgot how low the living room light is. Bloody hell Bry.
Great Vids Bry keep em coming.
Hahahaha 😂😂😂 thanks buddy 👍🏻
Nice one Bry. I definitely get more distance from the wider stance and more tilt but I sometimes find that I over draw the ball when I do it. Any tips to prevent that? Weaker grip?
Make sure the ball is far forward in the stance mate. In line with the left foot 💪🏻
@@bryrobertslongdrive Cheers big man
I am 72 and love watching you hit. Every time I apply a 3 or 4 knuckle grip I snap hook badly. Whats the cure for that.
Thanks mate 👍🏻 try getting the ball more forward in the stance 💪🏻
Bry when is your next longer distance driving session at north wales ?
Looking at maybe 1st week of Feb mate. I’ll keep everyone posted 😎👍🏻
👍
Bry great vid but he is a thought, the average age of club golf members is 56 and most of the guys and women I see play regularly are older. Obviously mobility is more restricted when you get older so how about a few tips and thoughts about maintaining distance as players get on in age, just a thought !!
Definitely something I will do, as I need the help too 😂
Hi Bry , that was very impressive but I am a little confused re the weight positioning as I watched a similar video by Tom Saguto who put most of the weight on the lead foot ie...60/40 and he was carrying 280 averages ! the rest of the setup was similar to yours ie...tilting back from the ball and forward ball position , just curious as to which method is kinder to a Seniors back ?
Great tips Bry, just picked up golf 6 months ago can't wait to go to the range to practice these tips 👍
Cheers buddy 😎 get that practice done 💪🏻
I find that the strong grip with the driver ball forward in stance tends bring the duck hook in play. Any suggestions to avoid this, Bry?
Flipping the arms too quickly, wait for the swing to load on the backswing and then swing through 💪🏻
Quite an "explosive" video! 😉 Thanks for those 5 tips.
Get working on them 💪🏻
Hi Bry. I recently changed my grip to a jumbo max large. I definitely hit the ball further but blasting everything miles right. It's not slicing or fading it's just going way right. Any tips on how to cure this. I feel like the grip is far too big and should have maybe went for a medium.
Ye could be too big of a grip and it’s slowing your hands down too much. I’d try going to a midsize instead see if that helps 👍🏻
@@bryrobertslongdrive Yeah that's what I'm going to do. Got a midsize grip on the 4 iron and I don't blast that right. It goes left instead😂
Also do some swings with the club on your knees if you can to speed the arms up 👍🏻💪🏻
I’m off to the range now!!
Bombs away 💪🏻💣
Sorry Bry, it's 11.30 on a Saturday night. I don't have a driver in hand, but a bottle of JD. 😁 I promise I'll try harder tomorrow. Seriously, though great video and thank you. Stay safe and Keep the content it coming. 👍👍
Hahaha hope the hangover wasn’t too bad 😉 thanks mate, you too 😎💪🏻
🔥🔥🔥 fingers crossed for tomorrow 🙈
💪🏻💣
Great video 👍😁 definitely going to the range to try.. Currently 50/50 on the weight and skying every other one..
Let me know how it goes 😎💪🏻
@@bryrobertslongdrive 😁👍
@@bryrobertslongdrive Had a great session on the range. The stronger grip definitely helps and the weight back seemed to give me more time to make a full swing and commit 😁👍. The stronger grip also kept the club in front of my hands, it wasn't dropping under my trail wrist and getting inside.. Could actually feel the power rather than just speed. Thanks Bry 😁👍
@@warricklawrence2057 boooom 💪🏻 that’s what I like to hear. Keep at it and it’ll be even better 😉
Boooom, nice buddy 💪🏻 glad to help! Keep grinding 🔥👊🏻
Slower swing speed? Don’t be scared, COMMIT 😉💪🏻
Some great advice .I'm definitely going to try this .I'm lucky if I it 200 yards. If I could gain 20 yards that would be amazing great video
Easy 20 yards 😉💪🏻
Will definitely try this tomorrow morning before the medal hopefully will try in the medal as well. 👍
Rip it up 💪🏻💣
@@bryrobertslongdrive Bry took the tips out on course truely ripped it up gained 30yrds plus on every straight drive. Got a bit of back ache now 😪
@@mickrivetti9446 boooom 💪🏻 yes mate. Worth the back ache 😉

thanks big cheese that’s work for the winter
Get grinding buddy 💪🏻
What did you say the name of that tape was to put on that crown of our driver? Can't make it out
Lead tape mate 👍🏻😎
Great video Bry
Thanks mate 👍🏻😎
Cheers Bry. Current average carry is 240. Will let you know.😜💪
It’s not gonna be for long 😉💪🏻
Good video Bry, I'll be bombing it tomorrow!! lol..
Oh yes 💣💪🏻
Swing path?
I try not to mention more of the technical stuff as majority of amateur golfers don’t have access to launch monitors and data such as swing path. Just confuses too many people 😂
Great stuff now get to the U.S. and give some clinics
That’s the plan 😎
