- December is chaotic enough with Christmas, but imagine also having your BIRTHDAY 2 days after Christmas! I have made it my life goal to make sure Tommy never feels like his birthday has been forgotten even though it is just 2 days after Christmas.. so today, we are having an ice skating party with our 7 kids and celebrating every one of the December birthdays in our fam.

The candle was such a cute idea and we could see the happiness on Tommy’s face. He obviously felt incredibly loved and grateful in the moment because as soon as he was done pulling them out he gave Jess and Chris a big hug and said thank you. So glad he was happy and didn’t feel overshadowed by multiple birthdays. Good job Jess ❤❤

I also have a late Dec bday. The 22nd and I have never received a gift that wasn’t wrapped in Christmas wrapping paper, it seems so silly and small but I feel like my bday has never truly been celebrated 😆🥲

Luckily, I was born 12 days after my own birth date as late baby of the Fourth of July! Though , fireworks would had been amazingly cool as Fourth of July birthday girl! So , my Stepdad who had become my adopted Dad after my abusive biological father had loss his parental rights had joyfully shot fireworks on my birthday anyway way after Fourth of July as my birthday tradition of celebration with fun family activities , birthday party , birthday gifts and celebration dinner at any restaurant of my own choice that was usually either Mexican , Chinese or seafood restaurants with music and honorably celebration towards birthday kids with personal small birthday cakes and free restaurant graphic shirts at these restaurants. LOL , our Dad had teasingly joke that I was smarter than my brothers in choosing restaurants to get extra birthday music , cakes and shirts when they didn't receive same good birthday extra from their own restaurant birthday choices which were usually fastfood or pizza restaurants! He had been slyly teasingly letting them know to choose better birthday restaurants like myself instead of being angry towards myself for liking nicer restaurants. 😂

My birthday is the same day as Tommy. As an almost Xmas adult I promise we are grateful for the people who remember our birthdays. My mom used to do half birthday parties for me in the summer. I still remember the Xmas in July party when I turned 7 😊

I have been married to my husband for 33 years. His 2 children are my children. No steps involved. The love is the same.
She only uses it to explain the relation to viewers who might otherwise be confused. Or some (the trolls) who would complain about them not being hers biologically. Most of the time she just refers to all of them as her kids or on occasion when explaining she might use bonus instead of step.

I have both of my kids birthdays the week after Christmas. On eis literally the day after. I make sure that they get nothing Christmas related on their birthday. I even take down all the Christmas decorations, redecorate the tree into a birthday tree different themes each year. At least one more present on their birthday then Christmas and I don't skimp on Christmas. Then what ever they want to do on their day and a party with the extended family. Plus something with friends once school starts back up.

i one hundred percent see the point as my sons birthday is 5 days after christmas and the day before NYE everyone is always too broke too tired out of town or have family in town and are too busy to celebrate my poor sons birthday. it’s quite sad every year.
My friends grandson’s birthday is December 28 I believe. And several of their relatives always send them one gift, happy birthday and merry Christmas so after a while like when he was three years old, they started celebrating his birthday in January so it will be separate.

My oldest child, his Birthday is 2 weeks before Christmas. My youngest child (only have 2 kids), her Birthday is on Thanksgiving every like 6 years so when that happens, we celebrate it twice (1 separate date as well as on Thanksgiving but also make Thanksgiving about the holiday and about her). So both kids 2 weeks apart, 1 being in a holiday every so many years, and 1 2 weeks before Christmas lol. I didn’t plan when to have kids, just wanted them whenever. My youngest was actually due in her brother’s Birthday and I said absolutely not because I thought that will be hard to celebrate both kids equally as well as not fair to both, so I had my membranes stripped at 38 weeks and had her on Black Friday. Both are 15yr and 18yr old.

It’s easy to not allow your kids birthday to be overshadowed by Christmas when you have the funds you do! Most aren’t that fortunate to be able to go all out for a birthday days after Christmas, even while working overtime at a decent paying job.
I’ve watched you for years, since Landon was born and I adore your family. However statements like “I would never allow Christmas to overshadow my kids birthday makes it sound like nearly every middle/low class parent is shitty because they are just making ends meet (and I say that as someone with a nieces birthday on Christmas Eve and a nephews 3 days after Christmas and have heard so many times over the years how they get jipped on their birthdays). Idk, just rubs me the wrong way. Especially coming from someone with as big of a family as you and neither you or your husband work outside of the home, but make buco bucks filming and editing just daily life.. in the comfort of your home, around your own schedule, with your kids, etc.. probably making as much or more than someone with a PHD that saves lives and are always taking lavish trips and vacations, bought like 3 houses in less than 10 years and are non stop remodeling said houses, even when it’s a brand new built house.
I used to watch you religiously, even with my son, but not gonna lie, the videos are kind of depressing to watch at this point. You used to be much more humble and relatable, but somewhere in the last couple years, there has been a shift in content, always revolving around trips, vacations, new purchases, etc.
Call me jealous… Sure, maybe? Who wouldn’t want a life like that?? Unfortunately we’re not all that fortunate and not everyone lucks out and makes it as a UA-camr..
And just to note, a lot of younger people watch your videos, imagine how they feel when they hear you say things like that. Can’t feel good for them either. My husband even comments, “how come every time I see these people, they are at Disney or on some vacation?” And when my son was younger, he’d always say things like, “how come they get to do these fun things all the time and they have all those kids? We’ve never even been to Disney once and they are there every like every month”. Now as a parent, I explain the circumstances, how life isn’t fair and he should be grateful for the good life that he does have because so many others don’t have it half as good… but it still stings!
Just some food for thought as a long time viewer.

One of my Nephew's birthdays is December 24th - Christmas Eve. When he was younger, we celebrated his half-birthday in June instead.
I have birthday December 30 and my gradfather died also December30 (my grandfather died in the morning and i was born same day in the evening) so every year its like sad event and my family don’t celebrate it so i am so used to make my kids Christmas and next is new year for us…I don’t like my birthday because i know my grandfather died exact same day as i was born (same year,same month,same day just12hours apart)
