Marcus Aurelius - How To Stop Worrying (Stoicism)
In this video we will be using some of the Stoic wisdom of Marcus Aurelius as motivation to help keep you from worrying and stressing too much about the ongoing pandemic as well as all the other things that we tend to worry about in our everyday, modern lives. During his rule, Aurelius found the time to construct a series of autobiographical writings, now known as the Meditations. In these writings, Marcus Aurelius offered a number of key insights on how to stop worrying.
So here are 5 important insights we could use to stop worrying from the writings of Marcus Aurelius -
    01. Everything is just history repeating
    02. Ignore the noise
    03. Practice mindfulness
    04. Serve yourself
    05. Serve others
I hope you enjoyed watching the video and hope that these insights will keep you from worrying.
Even though Marcus Aurelius wrote it 2,000 years ago - his insights on Stoicism still carry strong weight today. Stoicism is a school of Hellenistic philosophy founded by Zeno of Citium in Athens in the early 3rd century BC. Even though it is over 2000 years old, more and more people are discovering how Stoicism is not only relevant to modern times, but can be applied in very simple, yet strong ways.

I am and agree, however what our mentor neglects to relate which I am sure is true from experience is that acting on certain worries made him an old man, far from dismissing a worry you should act upon them, and only then they never come to pass, and if they do, your worry was justified.. it is being able to Discern what is worth worrying about and what is not that is the balance..

Has everyone stopped worrying now ? Nonsense temporary fix ! Do not worry about tomorrow for tomorrow has enough worries of its own ! Jesus said that he's the highest form of philosophy and only he has the real answer he is the truth! I've been down the road of Jung Patterson philosophical thinkers my philosophy is live in the moment not the tomorrow or the past this is what Jesus was talking about learn of the master go to to the author of life why go anywhere else ?

While reading meditations by Marcus Aurelius i decided to use the same introduction for my own journal. In that introduction he lists what he learned from about each and every person he knew either directly or indirectly. Example: 'From my mother I've learned x.' It's a very satisfying exercise and makes us aware of what we have learned as well as grateful and calm.

The Bible in context of Early East Asian Mesopotamia IS the same as existed under Hammurabi - One aspect is that
Jesus Sermon on the mount was to forgive them their debts. all makes since now. The LAWS were carved in a stone
Selen. this was the really important one, well enough forgive them their debts so they can prosper on their land and let the bond slaves be freed . . . . . . i give you justice and equity
PS this is why we let rich creditors screw poor debtors out of basic living things like homes.
We become slave labor we have no property and must share our income with the creditors.
WHO MADE THESE LAWS ( the creditors amigo )
The PIC forgot to mention that WE copied the economy & laws from the Greco - Roman Empire that was a FAILURE.

*Marcus Aurelius - How To Stop Worrying (Stoicism):*
*1) Everything is just history repeating:* Millions of others in the past have gone through the same things you are worrying about now. Everything is momentary and nothing is new.
*2) Ignore the noise:* Don't pay too much attention to people and don't worry about what they think about us. Concentrate on improving your life. We can't satisfy all of people.
*3) Practice mindfulness:* Focus on what you can do in ant situation and doing that well. Concentrate on the present and make the most of it. Don't worry about the future. Focus on what you can do to avoid the undesirable outcome. Worrying won't change the outcome. Meditate 5-10 minute a day.
*4) Serve yourself:* Shift your worries from long-term problems to daily routines that will help solve those problems. Instead of worrying about living longer, focus on taking a walk each day. Make the most of your present.
*5) Serve others:* Be kind and helpful to others. Thus you can be proud of yourself.

The portion having to do with Mindfulness stood out to me most. Sometimes it is the most difficult thing to turn your mind off, give it a break and do something productive that has nothing to do with the stresses that you have in your life. That has always been the most difficult thing for me. Sometimes when you constantly worry your body freezes up and you don't have the ability to do anything. It is the worst feeling because not only are you overcome with stress but you feel terrible because you are completely unproductive. My way of practicing mindfulness is creating a routine that starts early in the morning with meditation, prayer and short exercise which relieves stress and prepares myself for the day ahead. Thanks for the video, I found it inspiring.

marcus aurelius was a stoic philosopher and became emperor of rome. .his being such, was plato's fulfilled prediction of political and social formula for a perfect state. . In plato's works Utopia he stated a perfect state is attainable when a king became a philosopher or a philosopher became king. . . .greek philosophers before christ are far better than todays religious founders, crusaders and evangelists. .their wisdom were impeccable truly unwordly. .unlike today where so- called religious founders and exponents are living in palatial dwellings and mansions while majority of their members are wallowing in poverty. .

I stopped watching ALL news at the end of the G W Bush era, and I've never been so calm and carefree in my life. Get off of "social" media, too (the worst invention ever), turn off the TV, and watch what happens. It won't happen overnight, so be patient, but your life will most definitely improve.

I've been watching a lot of videos about stoicism, and I realised that all my worries in the past would have been easier if I was following this philosophy. Because living a life without a defined philosophy is like finding a needle in a haystack; hard and almost impossible.

The most important thing in life to remember is that whatever happens to you is YOUR fault, not sombody elses. Some people are stoics, most people are not. Saying to someone who is having a breakdown, "suck it up", is not useful. Ask them if you can help. If you can, do so. If you can't just say so. Only by picking themselves up will they gain confidence and thus mental toughness. But most of all, do not judge people who have difficulty doing this. Show empathy.

That this level of civility and humanity actually existed in a political leader 2000 years ago way before the enlightenment is quite remarkable. I have no illusions that someone in his position had to do tough things and make harsh decisions that may seem contradictory but nonetheless I find his overall message quite inspiring. I find the part about being mindfulness and not being overwhelmed by the negativity constantly circling in our head of particular resonance with me. I have adopted a strategy of simply saying to myself the words, NO Negativity, as soon as these thoughts circle around in my head and this seems to work for me.

"Why do we worry so much when it's just life repeating itself again and again?"
Idk about anyone else, but the whole groundhog day thing is one of the biggest existential nightmares I deal with. The fact that everything is just repeating in big circles is actually the very thing that terrifies me. We're just hamsters in a wheel. The story of Sisyphus.
And even though one might know they are about to get punched, they likely won't know where, or how hard. You're just gonna have to deal with it, regardless. Maybe just take the hit, because, hey man nothing to worry about except brain damage and falling into a coma. It's happened before! And you''ll do just fine!

I'm having my own struggles in accepting the cyclical nature of... well, nature. It's difficult but you're not alone in that struggle.
I always think... okay this has happened before, so what's so special about me? But then think "well, I might not be special, but the fact that my experience is not new means I get to learn from the mistakes of others who have done it before me. That gives me a greater advantage and I get a headstart because of that"
Replace a negative with a positive. Though I'm not always successful... we might as well try
