  • In this video we will be talking about how to think clearly from the wisdom of Marcus Aurelius. Marcus Aurelius was a devout student of the philosophy of Stoicism and constructed a series of autobiographical writings, now known as the Meditations.
So here are 5 ways to think clearly from Marcus Aurelius-
    01. Train Your Perception
    02. Learn To Control Your Emotions
    03. Exercise The Dichotomy Of Control
    04. Keep Virtues In Mind
    05. Always Consider The Big Picture
I hope you enjoyed watching the video and hope you find these insights form Marcus Aurelius will help you in thinking clearly.
Even though Marcus Aurelius wrote it 2,000 years ago - his insights on Stoicism still carry strong weight today. Stoicism is a school of Hellenistic philosophy founded by Zeno of Citium in Athens in the early 3rd century BC. Even though it is over 2000 years old, more and more people are discovering how Stoicism is not only relevant to modern times, but can be applied in very simple, yet strong ways.

This is like the eightfold path. The idea is to deny your own perspective. You become like a "judge" who is impartial and determines the best way forward to protect all parties involved and all of the property. They're a practice of self denial.

Say you need a babysitter for your kids. You’ve got two options. 1) A sweet lady with good standing within the community. 2) A known child molester.
First you need to judge which person is right for your kids, and in order to make a good choice you’ll need a modicum of discrimination.

As an Abuser, whenever any of my victims call me out for being abusive, I link them this video and hopefully that sends them down the stoic pipeline of learning to accept my abusive behavior. "Do not judge everything based on emotion", I'll remind them when they are rightfully upset at me. "Train your perception" is a doozy I also pull out when they start trying to point to specific instances of me being a "bad guy". "Always consider the bigger picture!" or "Doncha think you should try taking a cosmic perspective?" I will condescendingly remark.
Stoicism is truly my favorite philosophy (for you, not for me). Ciao.

With knowledge comes power, with power comes responsibility. For when good men that fail to act is when evil prevails. If you are reading thus, it is a sign that you are a good man. Sometimes we lose direction, but all roads lead to Rome when your end goal is set in stone. A problem I see with most men is lack or direction. I've always just wanted to die happy, the way I will do this is knowing that I never gave up on myself, only on those that had given up on themselves. Great men and women lead by example, live your best life and you will show others the wisdom they need through your own happiness. Be happy kings and queens, with little and alot. God bless 🙌

I really resonate with the advice to deal with your anger by asking if what you are thinking of doing will be helpful. Now, I've just got to slow the process down enough to be able to take that view. Wish me luck!😂

"They don’t want a population of citizens capable of critical thinking. They don’t want well informed, well educated people capable of critical thinking. They’re not interested in that. That doesn’t help them. Thats against their interests.
Thats right. They don’t want people who are smart enough to sit around a kitchen table to figure out how badly they’re getting fucked by a system that threw them overboard 30 fucking years ago. They don’t want that. You know what they want? They want obedient workers. Obedient workers. People who are just smart enough to run the machines and do the paperwork, and just dumb enough to passively accept all these increasingly shittier jobs with the lower pay, the longer hours, the reduced benefits, the end of overtime and the vanishing pension that disappears the minute you go to collect it."

    I love the stoic philosophy!
If only it applied to our day. There have been so many cultural and economic changes that it really doesn't apply to current day. Some things maybe, but for the most part our modern cultures will kick your ass if you solely apply these philosophies.

My biggest rule in life, gained from many years is
    Honesty is a personal choice
    Truth is a perception
Treat everyone with honesty and your understanding of the truth without anger, frustration or spite
Never compromise on these and your life will be so much better

Getting rid of judgement has single handedly been one of, if not the most impactful component which has helped me to significantly reduce my self induced stress, and start getting over depression.
Eventually you will look at things objectively, try to learn from your past, and choose to see things through an optimistic lens. With this approach you can open new doors to exciting things which once bored you, and shut old doors that once made you feel trapt.
This one simple thing can really change one's life. I'm happy to say that I actually feel like I'm finding my way now. 😌
One other huge thing that I overlooked which is really helping as well is forming a reading habit! Instead of being passive all the time by watching tv or playing videogames, set aside a bit more time each day to actively engage your brain by reading and/or trying to learn new skills!

Yeah having opinions on matter outside of your core purposes can cause stress because often we have negative opinions. And such thinking creates negative feelings or attitudes.

The offense someone does is what it is, can be detrimental, and could always be. How you react to it doesn’t weaken the offense, especially one which causes permanent damage. However, you can move on from such a violation and not let it continue to hold you. I don’t believe the mind has the ability to negate the wrongdoing, but does enable the healing.
