My daughter started doing this in our garage gym and i told her,if your here to workout then use your muscles to lay the bar/weights down,that is part of a workout,do not cheat yourself,also the guys that kick around dumbells with their feet to the spot where they will lift them..WTF..pick it up and carry it,it is called lifting for a reason!!

      JSDaniel 451
      Not York, paramount. They are most certainly deep dish 45s you can see them in some of the side shots and they sound like them. Deep dish 45s sound entirely different than 100s. Earlier in the movie Franco is seen benching for reps with FOUR of these plates on each side. They are without doubt 100% 45 lb plates.

      I used to play the last pose scene down between Arnold, Serge, and Lou full blast through the tv and i actually wore out that part of the vhs tape as i had played it so many times whilst i was in the bathroom.

    • @hellotherekenobi2156
      @hellotherekenobi2156 3 роки тому +3

      @Fred Tedason Yeah steroids will make your legs grow easier for sure. However, all the bodybuilders in the 70's and 80's were on steroids too. However, only Tom Platz had Tom Platz's legs, nobody else. Nobody else even came close.
      What was the difference between him and the other guys that gave him such incredible leg development? Well it probably wasn't genetics, as can be seen if you look at his legs in his earlier lifting years.
      And it definitely wasn't just because of drugs, because his legs are arguably better than any bodybuilder's since, despite the fact that modern bodybuilder's are now on ludicrous amounts of drugs and of a much larger variety than compared to the 70's and 80's.
      So the conclusion we can draw is that it must have been due to his training style, and more importantly, the utterly insane amount of training intensity that very few people on Earth can probably match.

    Lmao when he does the 8th rep thinking holy fuck that’s hard, I’m done. And Arnold says ‘cmon let’s get serious, 2 more’

    The best day is when you work on your legs, because you need basically workout but very strong: front squat, back squat, Deadlift, Romanian Deadlift, leg curls, lunges.

    • @DanZhukovin
      @DanZhukovin 7 років тому +1

      Deadlifts should NOT incorporate the legs unless you're testing out how strong you're becoming and they are NOT a leg builder because you only get 1/4 to 1/2 of a squat out of them. Keep them for the day that you work your back

    • @WorldOfLulz
      @WorldOfLulz 7 років тому +9

      ....The primary movement pattern in a deadlift is hip extension and knee flexion. Glutes are for hip extension and hamstrings are the primary knee flexors. If done correctly, the deadlift should hit the entire posterior chain, and yes that includes your lower body.

      @DanZhukovin 7 років тому

      Abdullah Khan Yeah for a partial rep lol it's not really meant to build anything besides the back and trunk

      @SuperShadowGear 8 років тому

      LHudson ART/LIFTS They are not its 375lbs those are 3 plates of 55. Look closely it's thicker than the 45s.

    • @mrmaass
      @mrmaass 8 років тому

      SuperShadowGear I've never seen 55lb plates, only 45's and 100's. These aren't crossfit plates that all look the same and come in 10 different weights :)

    • @JRAV03DJE
      @JRAV03DJE 8 років тому +1

      +LHudson ART/LIFTS I thought the same too but the plates could be heavier or it may of been 315 because they were training 6 days a week back then and would do legs 2-3 times a week so if it was at the end of the week they may have been exhausted. I have had traning days where 315LBs on squats felt like it was 500lbs due to being so burned out. Also that may not have been the exersice they fist started with as they may have pre-exhausted them selves before hand with front squats or leg extensions. But I guess we may never know. :)

    • @Andrejku9
      @Andrejku9 6 років тому

      it would be 600 for 10 reps.. cause there are 6 plates in total.. where do you get those 45 extra pounds of yours? huh? the bar is like 20 pounds my man

    i remember when i was 20 and in the gym my best friend of 1.75 for 76 kg started the warm up with 100 kg x 25 reps then changed to 130 x 20 reps after that 155kgx 15 reps ,after that 175 x8 final rep was usually 185 x 5 or 6 reps hell he was very strong . what a beautiful days. those days arnold was not famous in holywood but was mr universe and olimpia ( saw his pic in the news paper) 1 month later the owner of our gym met him in venice still we have that pic.so i can say u was close to the 7 times mr olimpia. the sound of the bars, iron i remember the olimpic bar of 20kg was always to see a beautiful sensation. i miss those days.
