I've never heard the language commanded with such importance, necessity, rawness, compassion and understanding as well as righteous indignation. I've been listening for a while now and MN has no idea how lucky it is to have you. I wish I would've known about slam poetry much sooner but I owe it to you ktm. You gave me something I couldn't give myself or any medical professional or loved one. Your life will not be measured by likes or cd's sold, but by the impact on your community and you've made a tremendous impact. The way you combine radicalism with compassion towards your neighbors and family (everyone) I've never heard anything like it. "if your hands are hammers how can you hold a child, how can you change a bandage?" Every 4 bars a catharsis.
"It doesn’t interest me what you do for a living, I want to know what you ache for. It doesn’t interest me how old you are, I want to know if you are willing to risk looking like a fool for love, for your dreams, for the adventure of being alive. I want to know if you can live with failure, yours and mine. It doesn’t interest me where you live or how rich you are, I want to know if you can get up after a night of grief and despair, weary and bruised to the bone, and be sweet to the ones you love. I want to know if you can be alone with yourself and truly like the company you keep in the empty moments of your life." Jon Blais
$10? I think you just gave me something priceless for nothing. And that's pretty damned amazing. Came here after seeing your 'Man Up' video on UpWorthy.
My GOD. Every single one of your videos have moved me in some way and the way you speak is just captivating. I love your work. You're absolutely talented and just incredible, honestly.
Thank you for your poems. Your truth. Your book. Your gift. Thank you for being someone worth studying. Someone who throws sparks with no care in fields of drought. This world needs more light.
Its an amazing amazing poem, giving all you can give for so "little". You are very memorable and it makes me wonder, its been three years are you still taken or single... ;)
