How are you not more famous?

I shared this song with my grandpa as my favorite song 5 years ago. I remember him telling me to shush when I tried to talk over it. Since then, he's had a stroke, and it feels like he's lost something. I've been grieving who he was, because I have no idea how to feel after all this.. but he wanted to listen to these lyrics because I put a value to them, and he wanted to understand me. Songs aren't what they are.. they're what you make of them. They transform into something with every listener.

If anybody hears this song and isn't sure what the title means because you're not a gamer, a Roguelike is one which typically features permanent death, instead of the usual save system which lets you return to your place if you die. All you can do is make a whole new attempt at the entire game, try to learn from your past mistakes, and avoid the fate you met last time. I find that incredibly fitting.

Maybe it's all the excitement about the Avatar live action reboot bouncing around in my brain, but is this a Fire Nation reference? There is no light at the end of this tunnel, so it's a good thing we're our own matches...

This deserves a fresh comment. I find myself coming back to this poem every so often I feel parts of it stamped into my brain. Like a broken record I dont mind being broken because it keeps playing the best part.

I've never heard the language commanded with such importance, necessity, rawness, compassion and understanding as well as righteous indignation. I've been listening for a while now and MN has no idea how lucky it is to have you. I wish I would've known about slam poetry much sooner but I owe it to you ktm. You gave me something I couldn't give myself or any medical professional or loved one. Your life will not be measured by likes or cd's sold, but by the impact on your community and you've made a tremendous impact. The way you combine radicalism with compassion towards your neighbors and family (everyone) I've never heard anything like it. "if your hands are hammers how can you hold a child, how can you change a bandage?" Every 4 bars a catharsis.

Bruuuuh, I just got done with my BSW as a 40-year-old with some experience working within the behavioral health field. I lived my first life with the disease of addiction, so I've had my fill of life experiences as well. But this sentiment hits so hard for me right now because I watched the process of getting a degree simply degrade the heart of learning. This took me through some shit as I walked through and did what they asked me to do, shaking my head the whole time. By the end, I wanted to scream, "This is bullshit!"! I didn't expect to go to college, but now that I have, I abhor the institution. I feel I am on the precipice of the next level up. Good shit man, well said, and thank you. Side note: Get your stuff back on Spotify pleeease.
