I would’ve given the young man the book. It could’ve been a great teaching moment on how the universe should work. Love all the things you picked up and look forward to seeing how you up cycle them!
Hi Sonnet, love to watch your hauls, you get such cool stuff! And I like how you take things out of the back of your truck. ❤ my guess is the rusty heart pan is for corn bread.
What a terrific haul? I personally would have probably given the young man the book back. It would have been hard but….but maybe he learned an important lesson in not being in such a hurry when going thru old books.
Those baskets!!!!!!🥰 You found some awesome things!!! Sonnet, leave your stress with God. Everything will work out! Stressing won’t help, thrifting will😉
Sonnet, I totally agree in being kind and helping everyone I can ... But the book was rightly yours. He tossed it, he will find more. He is probably there every few days..... I love watching your halls, it's like a kid in a candy store, you are so excited,, I love it. You find such great stuff. I believe the cast iron is for corn bread. I think you should look for a glass that would fit between the two pieces and restore it the way it was, the end that goes down wouldn't need to be open just the top. God bless.
Those wooden shoes are fun to paint up, put a rabbit in it and give it little wooden wheels. Great haul! I have one thrift store near me and they are pricey!!! Love all the stuff!
@15:19 Honore' de Balzac was a famous French author that produced a large number of short stories and novels. You may make more selling it as itself rather than flipping it into a craft. Pick up some lightweight reusable shopping bags at the bins; they're all over the place there; and keep in your car for shopping the regular GWs. Thanks for sharing your hauls!
Enjoyed your haul, good finds. That is a great idea to go early to bends and stay the day Oh my think of all the goodies for your booths and festivals,❤
I had that barn wood shelf in my cart today at the bins, and decided to put it back at the end. I must have just missed you. Can’t wait to see what you doo with it.
The reindeer wreath is very primitive. I actually like it. It's very original. I think it's a neat find. Sonnet you do find many many great pieces. It's fun to see what you thrift.
This is my first time watching and I loved your video. Don't worry about switching platforms; I have gone through it many times during the course of my career and it ALWAYS works out for the best 😂. Love your personality!
Those books......love em!! Many great picks. One of my favorite thrifting videos you have done. Don't know why, but you picked up some great stuff to FLIP, or not!!
I am new to your channel, and I love watching your videos. You have such great ideas. Some day I would like to go see your booths. I live in Minnesota and will be moving to St. Croix Falls, WI. You are funny and down to earth.
Hi Sonnet! Wanted to let you know that the wood thing you said was NOT an ashtray, is NOT an ashtray! lol We have one, they are from Alaska and you used an Ulu knife on it (a knife that has a rounded blade and usually a wood handle. The "divit" in the wood holds the item you are cutting in place. Does that make sense?
I keep 4 plastic tubs with lids in my van. I keep packing paper, paper towels, tape, marker, scissors, and rope inside the tubs. On top of the tubs I take moving blankets.
Since it was a kid, I probably would have given him the book. You know the scenario better than any of us. I wouldn't be too worried about it since he was going to sell it. But if he was a collector maybe you would have felt differently. I love what you do with your hauls.
AMAZING haul!!!❤ I’d definitely do some research on that green book. If he was that interested in getting that book back it’s DEFINITELY something worth money! Please keep us posted on that book because I’m invested now lol 😂😁
Honoré de Balzac Owing to his keen observation of detail and unfiltered representation of society, Balzac is regarded as one of the founders of realism in European literature
I've painted x2 of those silverplate trays...one light blue & the other white...then they each got a branch of Brocante birds and some words from other IOD transfers; similar to your recent bench, but more 'crownimg' vs background....and I'm actually doing a copy cat of your bird bench on a friend's little kid bench.
I think the cast iron heart and star pan is for corn bread but I would get some quick crete and make some concrete heart shapes and star shapes to put a message on and put in planters or gardens or something
Oh Sonnet I feel like you should have given that book to that man. He was looking for specific books. How many times have you wanted something at the thrift store that someone else had and they gave it to you? I often give others what they really want and I find I’m blessed by others giving me things I really want. Love your videos. Keep up the good work.
The little finial that you pulled out with the two pieces if you just put sticky wax on it and then you find a piece of glass for it later it’s not permanent, but it’ll stay together with the sticky wax
LOVE your videos! I look forward to them and have been SO inspired by your creativity! I wish our Goodwills around here were like yawls but ours are just overpriced and junky. My goal is to hit a bin or two on my drive from Texas to Illinois this summer! Sigh...I might need a bigger car!🤣 Thanks again for sharing your amazing creativity with everyone!❤
Sonnet! That was really mean to not give him the book...! Just kidding😄 Will teach him to make sure before he give books away, while he "lecturing" you on the worth of the books - all "I will teach the "old lady" about books. 😜
Hi Sonnet! The front half of the duck decoy would look adorable coming out of a wreath, bottom center with cattails around and foliage! What do you think?
Seriously people he passed it up it’s not like she beat him down for it. Unfortunately people expect to get their way we have to learn not always. You weren’t mean @ all😊 Great great haul
Balzac! You have to sell that individually online! Don’t get me wrong: I make arrangements of vintage books and sell them in lots by color or colors themed for certain holidays. Don’t use this book for that! Look it up, it was terribly controversial at the time, etc. etc. You are going to make some money on that book!
So many great finds. If the kid was finding bonds for his own use I would say you should have given it to him... but if he was also just selling it then why would you?
Lots of nice things! I love your enthusiasm. The purses are great. The silver pot is probably valuable as an antique, too, (1901😮) Pot lids make great decorative pieces: see Canterbury Cottage- you probably already do that. Regarding your request: Regret is hard to deal with and he was definitely regretting his decision. Is the young fellow poor-ish? Is that how the family makes it financially? Maybe/ maybe not. * (personally messaged a photo to you)* If your heart is tugging at you, perhaps you could come up with that color on another book, and offer the boy a peace offering of that book OR some other consolation since he tosses several books your way. You could show him your desired colors and he probably will help you find them. He gave you the book- do with it what gives you peace.
Good lord Sonnet!! Everyone is being so stupid about the book! He wanted to resell so you had as much right as he did to scoop up what he was tossing! As someone else mentioned, if he was a serious collector he wouldn’t have been tossing books. C’mon y’all!! Get down off your high horse, geez!
Yeah, I have to say I would have given him the book. It meant much more to him as a collectible edition than it did to you as a decor item. Hanging on to it because you loved the binding color was a little bit selfish. I think you got caught up in the competitive aspect of bin picking. You found so much great stuff that giving him one book wouldn’t have been much of a sacrifice. Just my opinion.
I would’ve given the young man the book. It could’ve been a great teaching moment on how the universe should work. Love all the things you picked up and look forward to seeing how you up cycle them!

Hi Sonnet, the two toned board with the concave center is a herb chopping board. They come with a two handled curved knife
Those wooden shoes are fun to paint up, put a rabbit in it and give it little wooden wheels. Great haul! I have one thrift store near me and they are pricey!!! Love all the stuff!
What a wonderful haul. Thank you for sharing. Have a beautiful and blessed week. ❤️
WOW! Some really great finds!
The wooden cutting board is for cutting herbs. Great finds!
The Vietnam purses would look so cute hanging on a peg shelf with greenery in it.
Yes, I imagined one hanging on peg and one on shelf above with greenery or floral.
@15:19 Honore' de Balzac was a famous French author that produced a large number of short stories and novels. You may make more selling it as itself rather than flipping it into a craft. I was there yesterday and almost took the barn board piece glad you got it.
What a great haul! You find the best "stuff"! Especially at the bins. Can't wait to see how you upcycle it all.
I love watching what you're pulling out of your truck!!😂
The small wooden board that is rounded out looks like one I bought in Alaska. It came with a rounded chopper and is used for chopping herbs.
Best wishes and much success with new website,I'm sure all will be fine. And,Happy flipping.
I just watched "The Music Man" and that author Balzac is referenced in one of the songs!!!
I think the bones of a lampshade like that are far more interesting than the shade itself!
Absolutely love all of your thrift hauls! Makes me want to run out and go to the bins! Thank you for sharing your experience with us!❤❤❤
Enjoyed your haul, good finds. That is a great idea to go early to bends and stay the day Oh my think of all the goodies for your booths and festivals,❤
The round thing is a mezzaluna cutting board. It's usually used for herbs. The cutter rocks in the depression. 😊
Hey, Mermaid. Thanks for the info-I thrifted one of those boards years ago (still have it) and never knew what it was for, so thank you!
I had that barn wood shelf in my cart today at the bins, and decided to put it back at the end. I must have just missed you. Can’t wait to see what you doo with it.
I just love your haul videos so much. Your envisions for your make overs and picking are the greatest!❤️👍🏻😀
The wooden dish shaped piece was a chopping board for herbs. It comes with a chopper called an ulu.
The reindeer wreath is very primitive. I actually like it. It's very original. I think it's a neat find. Sonnet you do find many many great pieces. It's fun to see what you thrift.
The pan reminds of the ones they make corn bread sticks in.
I agree
Wow, you definitely find the best stuff
What a haul! I can just see the wheels turning in your head, full of ideas of what to do with all your finds!
You got a lot of good stuff on your thrifting adventure.
Love all of your findings great stuff can't wait to see you what your going to make in your video's.
The cutting bosrd with a dip is an ultrasound cutting board ( Alaska). It should have come with the cutting knife. Cool find!
Check the green glasses to see if they glow with a black light. If so it is uranium glass. Very sought after!!
Great stuff loved it
I am new to your channel, and I love watching your videos. You have such great ideas. Some day I would like to go see your booths. I live in Minnesota and will be moving to St. Croix Falls, WI. You are funny and down to earth.
Nice haul and I'm a sucker for books as well!!
Hi Sonnet, Good Haul!!..There are so many good items in those bins. We don't have bins around us and I would love to try them. Happy Spring!
Hi Sonnet! Wanted to let you know that the wood thing you said was NOT an ashtray, is NOT an ashtray! lol We have one, they are from Alaska and you used an Ulu knife on it (a knife that has a rounded blade and usually a wood handle. I keep 4 plastic tubs with lids in my van. I keep packing paper, paper towels, tape, marker, scissors, and rope inside the tubs. On top of the tubs I take moving blankets.
Use the silver plate coffee pot for a vase. I have done this and they turn out so cute.
Since it was a kid, I probably would have given him the book. You know the scenario better than any of us. I wouldn't be too worried about it since he was going to sell it. But if he was a collector maybe you would have felt differently.
I love what you do with your hauls.
She probably means a younger adult like in 20s. When you get above 40, "kids" are anyone in their 20s and below lol.
Yes the rusty pan looks like a cornbread pan to me.
AMAZING haul!!!❤ I’d definitely do some research on that green book. If he was that interested in getting that book back it’s DEFINITELY something worth money! Please keep us posted on that book because I’m invested now lol 😂😁
Being a former Wisconsin girl, I really enjoy your videos.
Honoré de Balzac

Some great treasures!
I think the cast iron heart and star pan is for corn bread but I would get some quick crete and make some concrete heart shapes and star shapes to put a message on and put in planters or gardens or something
Probably would have given the book back especially if you just want it for color. I resell and they are plenty of green books out there to buy.
It’s for ulou that is a special nice that they use in Alaska and that dip matches the shape of the knife
Great Haul
great haul..can't wait to see what you do with them!!

Greed is not a good thing what goes around comes around
He had first pick and tossed it away. Too bad.
He was getting them to sell
I’m pretty sure the pan is for cornbread
I would have kept the book…that green!! 😍
Great haul.
The wood block that is rounded in the middle is an Ulu Block, for use with an Ulu knife (Alaskan).
You have to clean it up and seasoned it but it’s probably for cornbread and you bake it in the oven and it’s a great pan
The little finial that you pulled out with the two pieces if you just put sticky wax on it and then you find a piece of glass for it later it’s not permanent, but it’ll stay together with the sticky wax

There are bins around the bigger cities in Texas.
The bag looks like a Myra bag. Great haul.
Some fun items fr this haul....
Sonnet! That was really mean to not give him the book...! Just kidding😄 Will teach him to make sure before he give books away, while he "lecturing" you on the worth of the books - all "I will teach the "old lady" about books. 😜
Very good haul
Amazing finds!!!
Really cool finds!
Just reading about Honore de Balzac. He died in 1850. So your book may be very old. His works are quite popular.
Bahaha! I thought that reindeer was an aardvark!! 🤣
Hi Sonnet! The front half of the duck decoy would look adorable coming out of a wreath, bottom center with cattails around and foliage! What do you think?
The wooden striped board with the indentation, I believe would have come with a curved knife to chop herbs etc
So many great things..my GW never has great stuff
Wow!!! You could stock a whole booth with just today's haul. The question is did you find a piece of furniture???
There's a small town called "Balzac" just north of Calgary, up here in Alberta.
There is usually a curved blade for chopping, with the two tone brown wood board
Seriously people he passed it up it’s not like she beat him down for it. Unfortunately people expect to get their way we have to learn not always. You weren’t mean @ all😊
Great great haul

Sonnet when you say up North, aren’t you up North where you live? How much further can you go up North? Just curious
If you ever do a contest give away. I have a perfect idea!!!
Count how many times you say FUN..
That may be an ableskiver pan?
Myra bags 😉
Cutting board is for an ulu knife (Alaska)
Do you ever ship? I love the straw purses!
Maybe you should just buy a thrift store and whatever doesn't sell you can beautify and put in your booth! Lol! 😄💖
So many great finds. If the kid was finding bonds for his own use I would say you should have given it to him... but if he was also just selling it then why would you?
Books... not bonds
@A Monkey & A Magpie you can click on the 3 dots on the right next to your name to edit your comment. (If you want to.)
I think that rusty cast iron pan is for corn bread.
I took shades apart go for it
Lol... you're welcome! 😂😂thanking Google❣️
The book is listed in rare books. Value about $40.
Lots of nice things! I love your enthusiasm. The purses are great. The silver pot is probably valuable as an antique, too, (1901😮) Pot lids make great decorative pieces: see Canterbury Cottage- you probably already do that.

What website did you have? What website prividee are you using now? Im lookkng for a good website provider❤❤❤❤
You should put the glass back it could be so beautiful and useful instead of gluing it together
Yeah, I have to say I would have given him the book. It meant much more to him as a collectible edition than it did to you as a decor item. ❤❤❤
thrifting is the best medicine lolol
That person who knows Balzac, I really feel bad for him, must been really sad to see this book gone just for the looks.
photo copy sheet music for your project?
