Jeep Renegade || Backup Camera Relocation

In this video, I walk you through how I relocated the rear backup camera on my 2018 Jeep Renegade Trailhawk from just above the license plate to the rear spoiler. This is useful for those that have the Avid Rear Tire Carrier Bumper. If you have relocated the rear tire to the back, you may have noticed that you can't see out of the rear backup camera anymore. This shows you how to fix that problem on the cheap.

No problem! Glad I could help! It's super simple. Just be prepared to break one of the Christmas trees in the spoiler. You don't need all of them for it to sit down properly, so it's no big deal. Best advice I can give is to rip that spoiler off as fast as possible to try and not break them.

Hand tighten screws, you want to reverse seat them then hand tighten. I've learned jeep screws will slide right through the plastic.

Thanks for the trim removal tips, I'm installing a camera but don't have a factory one installed, so actually think it is going to be easier to run a new cable all through.

Thank you for this, worked perfectly. Only thing is camera placement, I cut mine to close to the window and now the windshield wiper gets caught...

You should have made mention do not install too close to the glass or your rear wiper will strike it and you forgot to make mention how to repair the hole that your camera came out of

Did you install the camera also into the head unit. .
I have the same screen unit as you but it hasnt got a reverse camera installed.

I did not. Mine came with the factory reverse camera. If you were to try to get one, you would also have to get your car head unit programmed
