Nice hand tool work. I love the silence while watching it’s so therapeutic. And I do the same with the hidden PlayStation and cables it’s a clean and tidy look. Dig your channel fella so different to the norm
Was about to ask if had thought about notching the cabinet to fit around the baseboards to get that nice seal against the wall (because I know I would think about doing that), but seeing a few comments about air flow which is a very good point. I would imagine if it ever did become an issue you can mount some fans on the back to where you could drive the air in a pattern. Maybe draw it up in the middle (between the two devices), out towards the sides at the top, then down the sides of the back and then out under the feet. Fans could still be completely hidden and wouldn't be a complex wiring system at all for 4-6 fans. Or if you didn't care about hiding the fans, you could notch the side panels to fit fans and have the air flow from left to right or something. Either way, definitely thinking about it too much given it might never be a problem! 😂 Beautiful work, sir.

Nifty, but I have had some overheating issues for the ps4 and some other consoles before and would be cautious when putting it somewhere without good air circulation. So long as you aren't playing games for extended periods of time, its probably fine though.

So far the 1/2" gap to the wall (caused by the baseboards) combined with the air flow from underneath has been good enough for me, but I only have a PS4 slim -- larger systems or PCs would definitely risk overheating. Fortunately if that happens to me I can just pull it a few inches away from the wall while I play... not ideal, but it would work. Thanks again!

Very good point Andrew! So far they've held out fine but ventilation is a very important consideration. There is a 1/2" gap between the cabinet and the wall (thanks to the thickness of the baseboard) and also air flow from underneath. If I ever notice any overheating issues I might pull it another inch or two away from the wall (just while playing intense video games).
Thanks Joseph! Nope no issue but I definitely tested that before building this. It wouldn’t have worked with my old TV but for some reason I can use this remote even from other rooms and it works. Same with the PlayStation. Good question!
Nice video. The start is good. What fret saw blade do you use. I use a skip tooth No, 9 and it tends to slip in the clamps. I've been doing a blanket box in 3/4" hard wood. Maybe im being too harsh with it.
Thanks! I used several coats of Arm-R-Seal wipe on polyurethane. It’s my go to for high durability when I’m not in a rush to finish (each coat takes 8 hours)
Nice slipper, D. How did the mitres come together? Was it as easy as it looked or was there careful adjustment needed beyond paring off the jig? I'm planning on doing it on a large keepsake box I've been asked to make.
Lol, thanks Myrkskog! The miters came together well, but they are tricky. I recommend doing a few practice ones before using it in a final piece of furniture. Once you figure out how (and make a good paring jig, in my opinion) they're super satisfying.
I like your work every much. But I would say, its hard to follow. Some of the best channels on UA-cam do voice overs it keeps you engaged on your story. That is just my opinion. Thank you for reading it.

@@dkbuilds That's something I totally understand. Drew's screws (lol) are from his grandfather and he puts one into most of his project to honor him, and to annoy his fanbase. I was thinking you might be doing it for the later. I do recommend Drew Fisher (Fisher's Shop) on YT. Just like you, he's got a lot of good content. Keep up the awesome work!

Great questions! It doesn't interfere with remote/controller RF at all. There is barely enough room to change discs, it's definitely a little awkward, good catch! Most of my games are downloaded fortunately.
Don't you think the ps will need some air to breath it will get hot depending on where you are and will need some ventilation for that .. heated consoles and wood doesn't go along with each other
Yes that's a very good point. So far with my use the gap underneath the console and from the console to the wall has been OK, but it does warm up a little.
According to my brother, you can also paint your consoles and wires the same color as your walls if you're mercilessly cheap/lazy. Edit: this is a joke btw don't do this. Also I work in IT and anything that makes wires disappear makes me so happy
I think consoles are beautiful, it's stupid to hide them. And every 6 years everything has to be remake - because there will be other, newer consoles. 😆

Thanks Danny! I use a 12 point skip tooth blade. They slip sometimes but not too often, but I do have to cut pretty slowly through hardwoods too.

Great questions! It doesn't interfere with remote/controller RF at all. There is barely enough room to change discs, it's definitely a little awkward, good catch! Most of my games are downloaded fortunately.

There is just enough clearance to slide one in, but barely. I personally don't change CDs often, most of my games I purchased digitally.

I'm not sure what you mean? The shelves are glued in place in a snug fitting dado joint. Is that what you mean?
