I've about a one year student (adult). My teacher and I both have Samuel Barber's Adagio as pieces that made us want to play to viola in particular because it has such a soulful voice. I sent her a link to your video and she decided then to perform the Biber piece for her teacher recital next year. So your performance inspired both a beginner and experienced player.
aaand I just saw your comment is two years old. Typical for viola to not understand and read stuff. :D So how's your viola life so far? Have you finished studying yet?
It is incredible how many characters you draw from four descending notes, while maintaining both a meditative and a dazzling element to the sound. I'm glad to have this video to learn from!
Brava Marina!! E' bello sentire una musicista come te oltre che un' ottima violista! Ciao da Enrico. Viola presso Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano G. Verdi
imslp but its hard to find google the name of the piece and a link to imslp will come up, but it wont say the name of this piece. click on it anyway, and scroll down and one of the download links will be names something along the lines of “preface” or something its at the very bottom. dont click the button to download it, instead open up the picture preview to the right. thats where it is.
Skillful and touching!
It's deep , maturely solemn , the serenity is simply breathtaking
Ms. Thibeault, I'm a viola student and I think that your performance of this piece is the best. Thank you.
Thank you so much dear, that means a lot to me!

Do you know the piece for viola called Mozartiana is in youtube and would be great you can play it! you play so well!!
Marina. You got into and graduated from Curtis? I expected less of this from someone who went there. Youre above and beyond
Yes, I went to Curtis and did my bachelors of music there. I attended other schools afterwards for graduate studies (Lugano Conservatorio & McGill).
Everything else is played by historic sounds until the one coming up like this one sounds new like the first of Spring.
Anyone else here for homework because I have to listen to this then speak about it. Love it too!
ha! awesome!
Magic!! I don't find the score, somebody have it??
imslp
Does anyone know whether the score of the viola transcription has been published or is available as a .pdf anywhere.
Go to IMSLP. If they don’t have it no one dose
@@stevendavis7821 Thanks
What is the set of strings that do you use ? evah pirazzi? and the strings A?
+Samuel Prieto Yes! Evah Pirazzi with a medium Jargar A!
Ur sound is beautiful. i like ur video.
Hello,I have been trying to find the music score and I cannot find it the transcription for viola.Could you tell me where did you get the score pls?
Two questions:
- does someone know how difficult it is?
- « chaconne » by Karg Ellert for flute solo, anyone?
On a scale of 1-10 this peice shifts between a 2 and a 7
Je garde cette vidéo précieusement, au cas où un violoniste essaierait encore d'oser envisager faire une blague...
excellent!!!
