The most professional answer ever on the spot after journalists shouting a breaking news. Congrats on a superb handling of an important issue just told at you live.
It was very rude of the journalists in the room to shout that "the Queen has died". No matter how big you consider a news to be and no matter how big it indeed is, you cannot interrupt the person holding a press conference at which you are a guest and attempt to steer the conference, or hope or expect that it is steered, in another direction by shouting news at the holder of the conference. Even in the UK, I don't think people speaking have been given the news by being ambushed in this fashion. I have no doubt that, within a minute of the shouting, someone would have anyway rushed in with a note on the matter.
It was shouted out as the news was more important than whatever she was saying. In the UK the whole conference would have been cut off immediately what do you know about what happens here.
Great Britain gave a dignified announcement to all its people, citizens & politicians alike. This was a terribly rude way to announce the passing of the most famous & respected lady in the world. The speaker dealt with it the best she could but the reporters acted classless.
Most famous and most respected are both exaggerations .. to be perfectly honest not many outside of her country would ever make this claim nor really care she is dead even many from inside her country and I don’t say this with disrespect at all . It’s just a truth . I am curious though why you feel as tho she is the most respected woman in the world what has she done to gain this title ? Believe me when I tell you if Kim kardashian or some other famous celebrity or singer died the same day as her it would have got alot more attention than the queen . She was the queen of England not the world she wasn’t royal to the rest of the world to others she was just another woman just as her husband is just another man .
@@tbmpllc4001 Queen of the commonwealth* not just the UK. She was the ruler of 1/3rd of the population of earth. Easily the most famous woman, I’m not confident enough to say most respected but definitely the most famous.
@@benji5890 I honestly don’t care what she was the the so-called ruler of when you say famous this means someone who is a household name and easily recognizable . You say she ruled 1/3 of the population of the world I never heard this a day in my life that’s not to say it’s not true but it goes to prove my point this is not things that are widely known . If you ask a 1000 people in the us right now most would know nothing about her . I can guarantee Kim kardashian is more famous throughout the world then the queen her name is a household name and she has riled nothing but maybe the internet . Kim is just one example there are plenty more famous women actors singers and sports players who are way more famous then her . Have you ever seen someone paying thousands of dollars to go see the queen ? You can’t be famous if your not known .

@@MarcoSpeaksNadsat Nonsense, she handled it great. On an unrelated topic, I think some racists don't like seeing a black press secretary do her job so beautifully!

@MSMEG IV Obviously not since you have to point it out in caps lock inthe youtube comments of a video announcing the queen's passing. Pathethic and immature.
She was caught unprepared with a sudden headline yet she composed herself so well- displays true professional in the presence of media and journalists.
This is from a Scotsman and ex-UK serviceman, in my opinion, White House Press Officer Karine Jean-Pierre DID NOTHING WRONG, SO GET OFF HER BACK. But I would question the behavior of some members of the White House Press Corp. as well as some of the comments here. She handled it as best she could, you could see she was upset about the news, and as she said, it was for the President to make a statement on behalf of the US, not a White House Press Officer.
@D M do you think she writes the lies she’s told to spit out, she’s simply told to do it in a professional and organized manner like all people in her position, they have writers for almost any statement that is given
@D M it has nothing to do with her She says what she is told to say If you wanna be mad, be mad at the man running the country. Regardless This isn’t about her or him. This is about Queen Elizabeth and the immense impact her reign has had on the world.
She did very well considering she was just put on the spot like that. The reporters were rude as always, simply blurting it out to catch her off guard, awful.
I'd give her 99% for that performance. I think you're right - the press were extremely inconsiderate to display such overt inconsiderate behaviour to a family who had just lost their mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. An apology to those affected would be in order from those responsible I feel. Of course, that could be anyone, so perhaps it should be public instead of private? I certainly don't need it, but perhaps there were some that really could have done with that self centered behaviour being put to rights.
It's proper to ask if it's been confirmed because in this day and age there are a lot of "news" agencies and gossip sites who would be more than o.k. to report she had passed just so they would be credited as the first site to break the news even if it were not true.
I’m really thankful to see that I’m not the only one who thought that our media folx were completely rude in how they blurted out this news. I’m also so proud of how she maintained her composure, and deferred any major commentary to the President. She was incredibly professional and, yet again, the American media is shown to be super unprofessional. Now imagine if the press secretary had been a Trumper…
Kudos to her for handling the surprise announcement (even rudely thrown at her) professionally. If I were in her shoes, I might have screamed on the spot.
I live in Russia in the Moscow region and I sincerely condole with the people of Great Britain. Her Majesty will always be a magnificent example of a strong-willed woman with excellent manners following her duty.
As weird as it sounds, that's what actually happens. The Moment of death marks the official end of the Monarch's reign, and it automatically passes to the Heir who in this case became King Charles III at the moment of his mother's death. Tradtion would dictate that we shout "The Queen is dead, long live the King!".
Surely she should have had an earpiece to tell her so. Also, it was a bit rude of the reporters to shout it at her like that "The queen's dead" no excuse me or anything.
Oh yeah, shame on the media for doing their jobs and insisting that people in power answer difficult questions about current events. Perhaps you'd like to live in Russia or China where the media is much more polite to the government.
Oh, he is proud of her alright. She expounds on his lies and deceet every day. She was awkward today. Hard for her to speak without a script. Obviously.
@@ginnymurray1869 I don't think you guys get it yet. This isn't a rally or campaign, there's no need to lie about stuff. Most presidents don't lie in press conferences - why would they? Whether you agree with the policies or not, disagreement happens in the context of commonly understood facts. There was only one POTUS in recent history who didn't live in the same reality that the rest of us do, and he disgraced the office and set a bad president for everyone that follows.
The fact that simply saying "the Queen" is instantly recognisable as being a reference to Queen Elizabeth II is a testimony to her legacy. There's no other head of state anywhere in the world that can be known implicitly from the title save for the Pope.
The West needs to come out of the mindset that western world is the entire world. Outside of Europe and North America, the rest of the world did not know much about her.
Well, to be fair, unlike other types of heads of state (like presidents), there are VERY few monarchs of major countries; of those few, she was one of only 2 queens, and she was the only one known to be sick. It would be obvious who was being spoken about regardless.
She handled that with dignity and grace. Shame on the reporters for so rudely interrupting her and announcing the Queen's death in such a callous manner. Disgusting behavior all around.
Imagine what you would say at that very moment. With the whole world watching, not knowing for certain any details. Let the President respond appropriately..
The way those journalists conducted themselves was beyond disgusting and despicable. Sounded like a bunch of children rushing to get the answer right for a candy reward. There are no competent people in the White House including the president. How on earth could you make the observation otherwise? She did handle this well tho
I love this! I read this caption and I had to see her getting updated by the reporters which is, I’ve come to realize, how she finds out about what is going on in our country. It’s her job to inform America but she is always so ill prepared that she ends up getting information from the reporters instead of the other way around. She is always scheduling a briefing and a reporter will say, “What does the president think about this or that and she gets all confused and is like, what? Is this true? Where did you hear that? Meanwhile, I’m sitting there thinking ,I EVEN KNEW THAT!!! How, judging by the definition of her job does she know less of the goings on then the general population and journalists. I know, this is breaking news so this may not be the best example but there are so many! My favorite one was when a reporter asked her how The White House felt about the fact that 20 States officially signed up in support of Texas and she was like - WHHHHAAT????? I’m watching this as it happens think holy smokes lady, this is literally yesterday’s news, you called a meeting to discuss this subject and you didn’t know that? The most professional answer ever on the spot after journalists shouting a breaking news. Congrats on a superb handling of an important issue just told at you live.
Not the biggest fan of this woman’s boss, but the way she handled this was excellent.
"Of this womans boss"🎯🤣

I mean, it was a pretty standard and response, but I will say it was a fine response.
Hur dur not my president
Could be worse, trump could be in charge.
As a Brit, I commend you for the way you reacted when the news was blurted out to you and the words you said. Thank you
It was very rude of the journalists in the room to shout that "the Queen has died".
I have no doubt that, within a minute of the shouting, someone would have anyway rushed in with a note on the matter.
thats what journalism is though, they all wanted to be the first to say it, get the story across etc
It was shouted out as the news was more important than whatever she was saying. In the UK the whole conference would have been cut off immediately what do you know about what happens here.
Actually the speaker would have been informed by some one sayings London bridge is down
They are actors on screen
Stop playing blind
@@blepala Nil point. It's operation unicorn as she was not in England.

@@benji5890 Not quite. She was Queen of 15 "Realms". 36 of the Commonwealth members are republics, and 5 have other monarchs.
@@benji5890 I honestly don’t care what she was the the so-called ruler of when you say famous this means someone who is a household name and easily recognizable . Fame is not through what you own or rule . There are many people who couldn’t tell you the name of the president of the us or Russia or china but these are amongst both the biggest and most powerful countries in the world .
That certainly out her on the spot.
Well handled.

You’re dealing with Americans. Lol. That sums it up.
As weird as it sounds, that's what actually happens. The Moment of death marks the official end of the Monarch's reign, and it automatically passes to the Heir who in this case became King Charles III at the moment of his mother's death. Tradtion would dictate that we shout "The Queen is dead, long live the King!".

Whether you agree with the policies or not, disagreement happens in the context of commonly understood facts. There was only one POTUS in recent history who didn't live in the same reality that the rest of us do, and he disgraced the office and set a bad president for everyone that follows.

Quick with the response and graceful at the same time. Salute!
She handled that quite eloquently!

I love this! I read this caption and I had to see her getting updated by the reporters which is, I’ve come to realize, how she finds out about what is going on in our country. It’s her job to inform America but she is always so ill prepared that she ends up getting information from the reporters instead of the other way around.
