Yo I hope you're still enjoying your 1st gen Sport Trac. I myself am dreaming of getting a 2008-2010 Sport Trac Adrenalin Limited with V8, 4x4, navigation package and all goodies.
You have added many cool things to your ST, one being the tailgate assist. I've read all the comments on this video, I also have the last gen ST, my question is, how did you determine the distance where to mount on the tailgate? Any idea if the tailgate is same dimensions to your gen ST compare to mine? Thanks
I honestly bought 3 diffrent tailgate assist. All in different lengths. As you know they dont make a tailgate assist for 1st or 2nd gen sport trac. I determined the distance by first mounting it to the tailgate striker. The with the tailgate fully extended down. I pick a spot and drilled a hole for the ball bolt.. Worked out kinda good for me.

It's really not that hard to fish the washer and nut into the tailgate. And most people dont have welders. I try to keep my installs to where anyone can do it with basic tools. The florida heat and humidity drives me insane more than anything.
I recently bought one of these with 50,000 miles. Shes a gem.
Nice find. Any plans on upgrading it.

Have you noticed the metal bending where the shock mounts to the tailgate?
I used Rivnut, but it seems that the lid plate is not very strong and it seems that it has warped a bit. I will be updating this message.
I have had no issues with the through bolt. It's good to hear real feedback about the rivenut
I wonder of that assist will work on my Ranger? I've been looking for one. I bet it will!
What year ranger?
munnday86 2007
Several videos of it on my channel.
I’m cutting an access port for that bolt. Just for convenience for someone else if I decide to sale or trade my Sports Trac
Another much easier way to do that would be a rivnut insert. No snaking anything through the tailgate, nonrisk of loosing any tools in the tailgate.
Thay is another way. Not sure if the riv nut could hold the weight of the tailgate. But always worth a sho
@@munnday86 works perfectly on my full sized Ram tailgate. Actually comes with the kit from deezee.
Where did you get the trunk cover?
Will this work if I install a nut stud instead of a internal nut

Where do you purchase 1/4” ball head bolts and what thread length do you need. I can’t find anywhere online
They are ball end bolts and they are in the videos description. Use the amazon link I provided
Definitely will be handy on my 2001.
It's a super nice accessory
Please tell me where to purchase the ball head bolts part number and description!
They are in the videos description ball head bolts. Just click the amazon link and will bring you to the listing.
Would that work with the pre drilled hole on the bed instead of drilling a new hole
I didnt see any holes that would line up with the shock length i needed.
@@munnday86 ahhh ok on my 05 there is a predrilled hole right around where you had drilled your hole

Hello, could you tell me where I can locate the air conditioning filter of the Ford SPORT trac 2004
No ac cabin filter on the sport trac.
Amazon says it does not fit the 2004 ford sport trac . It’s the one in the link.
That one in the link will work. Its custom no one makes it for the sport trac.
I have a 2005 Ford Explorer Sport Trac Adrenalin XLT, that’s nice though!
Yes it will work for the 2005 ford sport trac adrenalin

The bolt in the tailgate?
