I did this job today, Munnday. My radio bezel looked like hell. I appreciate the tutorial. Bezel now looks like new. The longest part was using the 3M pads to scuff down the old worn paint. Some of the paint came up with just a rub of my thumb! I still have the original radio. 220k miles on this truck...I bought it in 2003.
I was just thinking today about doing the same thing you did here. Now after watching this video, I’m sure this will be a easy to do. Thanks for the video!
I tried the hammered silver on the bezel while fitting a different model BOSS double DIN, but it turned out high gloss which is not what I wanted. I bought a replacement bezel on eBay in fair condition and I'm leaving it the original color.
Once you get the dash bezel off is it difficult to get to the lights behind the instrument cluster and can you recommend lights for it? Half of mine are dead. Thanks.
I did the boss audio mod and followed your video bought everything you said to. Might I say best upgrade on my 02 sport trac soldering was easy cutting and painting the din black was easy
Did I hear correctly that you put an "Oh Four full sized Explorer console" in your ST? So a 2004 Explorer's console can fit into the ST? Besides it being a better looking arm rest, was there another reason you swapped the center consoles?
I literally just did this to my Trac. Didn’t have the adhesion promoter, had “plastic paint and primer”. Sanded everything down and cleaned thoroughly so I hope it holds up. If not my second option is learning to do vinyl wrap 😳
Looks good man, i did a similar thing using truck bed liner on the highline console. Turned out really well. I had no idea how to pull the dash though, doesn't look too tough!
I took my running boards off when I changed my fuel pump and kept them off.i thunk it looks better. My truck is stock height though with no lift, just a little taller tire.
We just bought an 02 sport trac and I'm so grateful i came across these! Now we know how to make it look awesome, thanks to you!
Awesome congrats on the sport trac.
I have tons of videos on my channel of the sport trac
Good job. Looks really clean now.
And with the mid-console painted black the radio looks nicely integrated.

Once you get the bezel off. It's only a couple screws to remove the cluster.

Sorry this is off topic but I just got a Sport trac and was wondering what kind of mpgs you get since i just got 265s?
I would say 20mpg highway and 16mpg city.
@@munnday86 Wow thats a lot better than i had expected thank you for answering

Better arm rest, better cup holders. More power outlets and rear cup holders. It was way better that what was in there
How did you add that phone holder?

what did you paint your gray trim on the outside with and have you had any issues with it flacking or peeling?
Can you do a video on the outside skirts and also how to add footsteps.
