    In my experience, learning triads opened up the fretboard and my visual perception of it changed into something that I finally understood. Things were no longer a guessing game. I could improvise, moving between rhythm and lead a lot more fluidly, allowing me never to be "lost" on the fretboard.
    Great lesson as always! 👍🏼👍🏼

      I spent the pandemic learning all of the triads, and it has changed my playing so much. It started with watching Taylor Goldsmith from Dawes; he just dances around the fretboard and I wanted to be able to do that.

      What specifically should I be practicing with triads to really get the concepts memorized and understood?

    • @nattyboyo2404
      @nattyboyo2404 5 місяців тому

      @@KyLesCaster For example practice the D major chord on strings 123, 234, 345, 456 and see how they all join up.
      Some will be inverted. Pay attention to where the root note is in relation to the third and fifth note of the chord.
      Make a rule not to play open chords or barre chords for a while until you get used to finding these triads instinctively. Play your favorite songs using only triad chords.
      Make minor shapes by lowering the third note of the chord.
      All the best!

    So basically people take the 3 note combos in open chords and just find where they’re up the neck and you’ve found the triads 💜

    This is actually good... I've watched so many of Marty's vids under different channel names, but this one finally jived with where I'm at, after being tutored on +Sean Daniel's channel for months... Finding the Arpeggios of chords helps so much, and being able to play them anywhere on the neck is crucial to being a progressively better guitarist. I took "Hey Joe" and rooted all 5 chords between the 7th to 9th fret, and found a great new exercise. Thanks!
