- Remember that hobbygraded r/c General Lee that I got from Ebay?
• General Lee RC project...
It was in terrible condition with little turning ability; no reverse; pushbar & bumper fallen off... • RC General Lee Tamiya ...
...well, RC Dave wanted to fix it up for me...I want to show you how well it runs now...
Jump videos? Rough dirt driving videos? YeeeHawwww!
Great looking General Lee Alex, the wheels and skid plate are perfect additions.
Dave does great work, I highly recommend anyone looking for a ready to run General Lee to contact him.
yeeeehawwww indeed :D I can't wait to drive this badboy. Thank you for honoring my video with your presence. Your jump videos are legendary
Straightnin' the curves and flattenin' the hills in that thing? P.S. if anyone doesn't get the reference we can't be friends.
I love Shooter's version of this song :D
RC Dave certainly did a thorough job!
indeed he did :D He's probably gonna have to take a look at it again (after my unfortunate wet landing in the last vid) lol
It's a beauty! I love the body for it. Amazing job 👏
I had several of the official RC models that came with the horn box and each one I had the dang gears kept messing up on it and it made this horrible grinding noise after not even a couple months so the last one I got I ended up just keeping it in the Box as a display piece, PS I would clip those body mounts down a little bit so they're not as noticeable and also paint them orange to match the body
I can't wait to see the hell you put this car through,. Try to keep the shiny side up.
haha indeed :) I've got find a nice place to film it at. Oh, and also find a little ramp
Looks great can not wait to see vids of it. Keep it between the ditches.
you did a fantastic job making this thing run again
I’m working on my build and I’m interested in getting those vector wheels. Where can I get those from?
@@Jimreynoso Look on ebay the guys name is Tony. www.ebay.com/usr/bluant-01?_trksid=p2053788.m1543.l2754
@@Jimreynoso hey Jaime, you can find them by looking for 'Bluant RC Vector Wheels." Bluant has actually made a newer, better version than the ones you see in this video. They're expensive, but worth it
Nice RC car 🚗
Nice car !!!, I like how you upgraded your General Lee, now it will be able to handle driving and jumping better!!! I was going to do the same thing with my original general Lee but I decided to make the kyosho Dodge charger my movie car .
Dave did an amazing job with it :D These hard bodies made for the Dukes of Hazzard having an awesome shape to them, but they can crack when I do jumps. With this kind of body, I try my best to land on soft terrain like dirt. Not sure if you saw my Kyosho Dodge Charger r/c video, but you can see just how sturdy they are. I put it through so much abuse in my video
@@PrinceofMacedonVlogs yes I saw that video it was pretty amazing!! They make strong kyosho Dodge charger body's, but I don't plan on jumping my general Lee car like that LOL!!
Hey Alex nice general lee, I have 5 Malibu Rc generals lees in my collection now including one I got signed by John Tom and Catherine Bach. when they came to the uk. Look forward a dukes themed short story dude!! Heeehaa!
that is one of my goals (to have multiple Malibu General Lees). I have 1 spare one at home which I hope to get hobbygraded in the future. I definitely don't want to rely on 1 (because it's gonna take a serious beating, I think) lol I'm jealous about your autographs. Did they ask to test-drive your r/c General Lee? :D
Rc Dave builds some great Rc general lees, he seems right up there with billy c in the charger department. 👍🏼
Sadly no, the queues for the Dukes signatures were very busy and very long, there were people everywhere that day, so floor space was very limited for Rc cars, John Schneider was particularly impressed with the Malibu car, as I had installed a full interior with driver figures and rollbar etc. As to was Catherine Bach. I do have some videos of them looking at the car which I'm very proud of lol! As most people were only getting the 1/18 scale die cast generals signed, til I arrived 👍🏻😀
@@orangewheels01 oh wow, do you have any of that footage on UA-cam? Would be a unique video to see :D I'd love to have John Schneider to drive my General Lee around
No, I haven't had a chance to upload any footage yet, it was really an Honour though to get such great feedback for all the hard work I did on it.
always nice to see your videos m8, nice General Lee car, dave sure has made a lot of money from my designs !
those wheels are actually the old type my new ones are much better & stronger, look forward to seeing your GL basher video 👊
Happy 2019 🎉
happy new year, dude! I'll have to order up the new wheels once these ones wear out. Maybe after I'm done filming my basher video haha Thanks for watching this.
Hi guys, have been trying to find those wheels, still can’t seem to find them. How can I get a set?
@@Jimreynoso Jaime, look up "Bluant RC Vector Wheels." You should be able to find it that way
Yeah I have been searching using that but cannot find where to buy them,
Sold out of wheels at the moment...will let you know when I have more , I usually sell them on eBay I got more sets on order from my supplier so hope to have them in March /April time 👍
They usually sell out quick as I only order small quantities
Man. I love it. Awesome
it's one of my favorite rc cars :D
I would love one of them
they're amazing
Hi love the car I have one myself and want to upgrade it
Do you know what Rc car was used for the chassis thanks
It would be fun to watch the general lee win an R/C race in reverse like it did in one of the episodes
Hi!! Sorry here did you get the wheels from?? Also what are they called? Any info would be awesome! Thanks
hi who makes the R/C General Lee and where can I buy it and where can I get it modified? thank you so much and good luck with yours!!!
The 1:10 sized body is made by Malibu. They also make a smaller 1:18 size but you don't want that one. Check out Dudebro13's page for General Lee builds. That might help you get started. Good luck yeehaaa!
Awesome looking RC. I made a monster truck General Lee. It started with a Traxxas Stampede 2wd. I want to make Roscoe's police car, but I can't find the correct body.
You might have to look for a custom body (or maybe something 3d printed). I don't think any company makes the Monaco or Fury bodies. I wish they did though. Let me know if you find anything though. I'd love to see Roscoe's car made in r/c
Nice
I got the body but where can I get the chassis for it?
I love your Chevy Impala cop cruiser where do we get 1?
ah, it's originally a Radioshack Chevy Impala. But my friend painted it like a sheriff's car, and slapped on the police lightbar on top, and some Hazzard County decals on the body
Great video! I'm building a general lee now, I'm having trouble finding the right wheels, do you know where yo find them from?
yeah, my dude! :D Look up "Bluant General Lee Vector RC Wheels." Bluant sometimes has them on Ebay. He doesn't mass-produce them so they only come out seasonally, but they are so beautiful
Hi mate love you vids
I have a kyosho 1/10 scale and chasing some scale wheels can point me the right direction where to get some please cheers
hey dude! You want to look for Bluant's vector wheels. Bluant is the one who my wheels. They're beautiful. He seems to only make them seasonally though. I believe he has an Ebay page
Where can I get a gas one
Curious what sort of cost we're looking at to build one? I woudl love to have one. Tried to get into building one years ago after seeing those videos but I just didn't have the patience (ok... I didn't have the skill) to do it. Would totally pay for someone to build it for me. I even had the 1/10 body at one point, though I think I finally gave up and sold it lol
the standard build is using a stretched Tamiya chassis (which takes custom work as you know). The body is gonna be hard to track down, but they sometimes creep up on Ebay. Sometimes the prices are reasonable (around $150). But they're usually more than that. You can find people to build you one...I don't know the exact price, but I would say about $400 to $600ish? I bought my stuff half-put-together. And then I found Dave who could actually make this thing work in its current stage so I didn't have to pay for too much after that
@@PrinceofMacedonVlogs WOW. Thank you so much!
Where did you have that built or did you build it?
I found it on Ebay, but RC Dave was able to complete the work on it (since the previous owner didn't finish building it)
very very cool. Very accurate to a real Charger too.
thanks, I love this thing. It's currently getting repairs after being in this video: ua-cam.com/video/u1v5Pvf1MzA/v-deo.html
@@PrinceofMacedonVlogs I had a General Lee RC car, but it was very very slow. And the shape wasn't right
@@pliantimpala7858 The body was taken from a very slow 1/10 General Lee r/c car (made by Malibu). But then it was fitted with a custom hobbygraded chassis. Kyosho made a bit more detailed Charger, but it's a '70. I made a video for that in my "Death Proof r/c car" video
@@PrinceofMacedonVlogs Yeah, as a Charger fanboy, I can tell when the proportions are wrong, and most companies stuff u the proportions and it really pisses me off!!! But this is very nice, apart from the windows going up at the front, but that's for the mirrors.
@@PrinceofMacedonVlogs When I was young, I had a really really terrible General Lee RC car, one of the slowest RC cars I've ever owned, and that same Christmas my brother got a Holden Commodore Pursuit Police car that did dowies on any surface and would outrun most kids hahaha. It was heaps of fun to drive, the General Lee on the other hand, not so much. When we recreated scenes from the Dukes of Hazzard the chases lasted around 14 seconds.
Where do I get 1 like it & how much is it $$$?
Hi How much it cost the General Lee RC thank you
it's too hard to put a price on it. It depends on the deals you can find on Ebay, and if you can find someone who can make a chassis for you. The General Lee 1/10 body (made by Malibu) is the first thing you'll need. The price of just the body can be around $100 to $300 (depending on the seller or lack of bidders). The electronics, parts, and figuring out how to stretch a chassis to fit this body is the next step. Total price could be around $600+
@@PrinceofMacedonVlogs thank you very much for The information Prince of Macedo thank you
So awesome! I have a couple body’s .. I know that’s custom, what all is it made of? What servo , battery pack , receiver etc I mean? Thanks
hey, mine uses a stretched Tamiya chassis. You can see good examples of the different build-types for this body here: generalleerc.com/build-pics/
xprinceofmacedonx thanks very much
xprinceofmacedonx just checked out that site. Awesome! Thank you
@@shaneclayton6713 yeah there are some great builds for the Malibu body. I wish I had another one
Hey I appreciate your videos.. they are fun. I have two body’s coming, so I was curious as to your setup. I’m newish to the 1/10 r/c and saw your video. I was thinking of one like yours and then like a monster truck version. Anyways I have learned a lot in a short time, so thank you!
What type is it, not like electric or gas, like Malibu or whatever others is out there
the body was made by Malibu. It's the 1/10 version (not the smaller 1/18 version). The chassis is a stretched, custom Tamiya one
Where can I get one of these at and I am looking for a person to build me a accurate real light general lee die cast
Can’t wait for someone to call you racist for owning one...as a Duke’s fan, nice ride!
haha I'll be sure to give them a warm, Duke reply. I can't wait to show this thing off :D
It’s a race car not a racist car
@@minecoasters372 indeed
Also getting a parts car so I will have a mirror
good idea! I definitely want to get a mirror for this car eventually. I had another Charger, but I can't find it anymore
what chassi is that?
Please help were do i buybthe wheels?
look on Ebay for the "Bluant r/c Vector Wheels"
Do you know which tamyia chassis that is ?
How fast does it go?
not sure - I haven't clocked it yet. I would assume around 25 mph
Where did you get the wheels from? Could you post a link?
I don't have the link, but a guy named "Bluant" will see those wheels from time to time on Ebay. Just look up "Bluant Vector Wheels RC" or something like that. Make sure they're made by Bluant because that's the one you're looking for. I just checked on Ebay, and didn't see any
@@PrinceofMacedonVlogs ok thanks bro👍
How much u want for it
haha well, I won't sell this. This is one of my favorite r/c cars that I own. But you can do a search for Dudebro's General Lee r/c builds (to see how these are made). It's a little pricey but worth it
What scale
1/10 :)
Where do i get it
hey dude, I got the body off a 1/10 Genera Lee r/c car (made by Malibu). The chassis is a custom, stretched Tamiya chassis
@@PrinceofMacedonVlogs ahh ok I think one buy a 69 charger body and make it a general lee body for my traxxis cars idk that one tho
@@Tagueboss3993 Traxxas might be too big for this body (which is why a lot of people use a stretched-out Tamiya chassis). Or something else you can do: you can track down a Kyosho '70 Dodge Charger body, and then mod the front grill to make it look like a '69. I've seen a few people do that on UA-cam. Then you'll need to get the General Lee decals in 1/10 scale, and add it to the body
@@PrinceofMacedonVlogs yeah I can use one of the mini traxxis I have one of those it might fit
What scale is it
this one is 1/10 scale
How would I get ahold of RC Dave
you can reply to his comment on this video. He should be able to see it
@@PrinceofMacedonVlogs thank you very much
@@ERVIN1931 no problem, I hope you get to talk to him
RC Dave if you can see this comment please get ahold of me I've been waiting thank you
Hey if you get another generally can you send it to me
Please build me one!!!! How much? Seriously!
hey, I didn't build this myself. I found it on Ebay, and then I found someone to complete it. Keep checking on Ebay. People will periodically sell modified General Lee rc cars. They'll run around $500+ (just an estimate)
