Hey Jocelyn and Taku. I understand crab season in California should be opening soon, so this is a suggestion for a cook that might be different. When we have crab, I’m the only one that likes the crab tomalley. Certainly, it is an acquired taste. I was trying to find a new way of eating it, so I decided to mix it in scrambled egg, but I would cook it in its shell. I mixed the egg, poured it over the tomalley in the shell and placed the shell in a pan, stabilized it with crumpled up foil, and covered it over the stove top. Well, I undercooked it and to my surprise, it took on the consistency of custard. I inadvertently made “chawamushi”. How does a chawamushi, with Taku making his egg and dashi mix, poured over the tomalley in the shell, sound? Or making a conventional chawamushi, mixing in the tomalley, and adding crab meat with the other conventional stuff? And don’t forget the ginko nut. Thank you for your time. Keep up the good work, Yuji.
Denatured alcohol work wonders when playing with caulk and silicone. Cleans the surface before you apply it and you can touch it like with soapy water. It evaporates so no extra cleaning up soap residue.
Aye Taku, you got recovery boards? Just in case you ever get stuck in mud, snow, or sand. I have an extra pair along with an extra light bar. If you want them we can meet up somewhere.
Leak is most likely coming from the vent/fan and rolling down the ceiling to the back... I had the same thing in the house. The leak was about 15 feet in the other direction as it was running down one of the rafters... Good luck!
While it may not "look" the best might consider truck bed liner a roll on type thing. Won't scratch or ding as made for hauling in trucks but won't leak if used as a "sealer". Might even find it tinted to match van or other nicer color.
Maybe use body seam sealers for anything automotive related, that's what we use for warranty repairs (water leaks). You should be able to get them from any dealership if you can't find them at auto stores. They're good for metal surfaces and should last. Just another option.
Show idea..how do you keep the fish from sticking to the pan or grill (without non stick). Every time I try for crispy salmon skin it just sticks to the skillet…I need a demo
The Composite wood used in Decks would be a good replacement for the boards on the roof of the van. Composite Fiberon Deck Boards. Sold at Home Depot! Just a suggestion! 👍👍
CHECK WHERE YOUR ROOF RACK GOES IN AND ALSO AROUND THE FAN. THE LEAK COULD BE FURTHER UP BUT TRICKLING TOWARDS THE BACK DUE TO THE CURVATURE OF THE ROOF.
I drove truck for many years to the LA area and had to sleep in my truck, imagine trying to find a place to park an 18 wheeler in the LA area. I only had a 42 inch sleeper, so only enough room for a bed and the roof was low, so you could only set in the seats. I woke one night in a Costco parking lot with gun fire, it is very scary in the LA area, sleeping overnight. Oceanside was a favorite place, because it is cooler, but I didn’t always get that far down. Riverside area was the worst, it often wouldn’t cool down at night, so we ran our engines all night, but now that illegal.
Instead of painting the last minute board on the door. You should cover it in stickers of places you have visited in the van. Then when you sell the van you can pull it off and take it with you.
There are National Forest campgrounds from Santa Barbara all the way to the Mexican border I have used for over 50 years . Next try these spots like Los Padres National Forest, Angeles National Forest, San Bernardino National Forest just to name a few.
It's pretty common here to have sidewalk/running trails at the beach. It makes it easier to run on without sinking or running on uneven surfaces while still enjoying the view.
Could be leaking because the van body has wiggled and moved while driving. Y’all probably tested everything immediately after you installed and not after a week or two of driving. Cant blame you, it’s hard to just sit there and wait
So if you want to learn free diving you pay to take a class , 🤔. So it’s not really free if you pay money 🤔👍😂. Thought for sure you would be backed up to the water somewhere, that Urban camping thing sucks !
We thought you were making a joke but since others are confused, we thought we'd explain just in case. lol Freediving is what the type of diving is called. You're going in without any equipment to help you breathe, just holding your breath to catch or spearfish.
@@TaklyntheWorld ,hey Taku and Jocelyn , ya I was just joke’n , 😂. It’s totally amazing that someone can hold their breath for that long and go that deep , I tried just to go down 10-15’ ft snorkeling but I can’t get pressurized ,I tried pinching my nose and and trying pressurize with no luck , going down that deep and still having enough air in you lungs to decompress on the way up without getting the bends or blacking out is unreal , and takes knowledge and skills , I think I’ll just keep figuring out how to get the fish to come to me ! 😄👍. Have fun stay safe ✌️
Sparkly stuff is most likely sap that has leeched out of the wood and crystallized.
It 100% is. Heat cycles and age.
or salt
Yup. Happened in our attic, too. Pretty interesting and scary at first not knowing what it is.
Oh makes sense, thanks!
I have to say your videos gives me such a sense of calmness. Thank you Taku and Jocelyn! Keep having the best adventures!!
I think its condensation! Where its warmer in the van down on So Cal

Great stuff...!
Galvanized screws and bolts for weather conditions!

Good video Taku and Jocelyn and good thing you caught that leak in time. I hear Nature calling you guys as adventure awaits , see you for the next one
could also be condensation coming in from the fan. especially since you were up north. theres a lot more moisture in the air up there.

Self leveling sealer works great for RVs and vans

Great update and congrats on 40K, going to catch up to the main channel in no time!
Caulk will probably be fine but consider using some Dicor lap sealant for RV roofs. I think it will hold up better in The long run.
I can see in the future you guys on the move up into Alaska
I love ya'll, that is all.

I would like to see you folks down here in Georgia!.. Lots of great country to explore. Great fishing too!
One good exercise that you can almost do anywhere with solid ground is jumping ropes.
lol! I felt your head getting smacked on that corner...ouch!

Not really good options when they're 2 hours driving from the locations we need to be at 5-7AM. 😬
Hi Do you need some great lighting for your car for a better dirving at night! We're looking for sponsorship!
but, it never rains Southern California. -TTT (You dreamed that).
Nice fix. Maybe put some padding on the cabinet so you don't get more head banging, unless, of course, y'all like that
Can we have a meet up in Oregon ? Like a hike or something? I would love to go an meet both of you guys! Maybe a announcement in advance?
It might be condensation from the roof.
City van life means CBD/THC gummies to sleep! Make the shift it’s much more relaxing while on the road
When is your colab with landshark outdoors coming out?
Sap from the wood.
sand the paint off and weld it on. silicon won't last very long
Sparkly stuff is sap.
Condensation?
Greatings from >Germany
You bought that van new, you should of taken it to Mercedes to have them fix it, it is covered by your warranty
Replace your hardware with 316 stainless steel. That's what we use on boats.
He went to the beach and had to run on the sand. LOL! What did you expect him to run on, water? WTF do you think is at the beach.....sand.

New Mercedes. Still under warranty. Let a dealership fix it.

@@davescheer5038 if you haven't already, try pressurizing before you even start going down. Pre-pressurizing helped a lot!
rusting bolts...... so much for NEVER AGAIN.....
