- For this week's video we visit Seogwipo Olle Market on Jeju Island. There's so much food to try and lots of shops to check out.
One of the restaurants we went to that we mention in this video is called Olos/Orot. They had a delicious abalone bowl. Highly recommend checking that out if you also go to Jeju Island.
I love what you guys are do, but I seriously love seeing you 2 visiting Food areas and street food as well as you continuing to catch and cook, its a great twist. I love it. Keep up the great work you 2 are doing together. There are a lot of good food places alone the west coast.

I've loved these videos exploring the different markets. I've absolutely binge watched this channel since finding it a few months ago, after watching Taku for a year or two now. I love anything food, but love just watching you two vibe even more lol. I cant wait for more updates on the lil homestead. I'd love to see you guys have some 🐝 , potential fruit trees etc. But I know in the spring we'll see a bunch!

That “scallop” thing is pen shell. You can think of it more like a clam and it has a firmer texture because you’re eating the abductor muscle part. Generally more fibrous and firm than your typical scallop.
Totally agree regarding rinsing all sea food in fresh water. I always take home 20 to 40 litres of seawater, depending on how much I catch.
By the way, in NZ, we call them horse mussels.

I was at a restaurant un NC a month ago an oyster house, great deal on oysters vut they washed them. Otherwise great food , had to tell the server to pass along to not wash the oysters! So glad you said that❤
BBQ black pork in Jeju with the pickled crab as a side dish is a great combo.

Something that is fading away when it comes to Chinese or Asian food, especially with the take out or "bowser bag" for left overs. Those folded paper containers with the wire handle on them have slowly been replaced with white foam containers. I can't stand them, the paper containers are way better to eat from. The aren't as delicate either as the foam containers can be damaged easier and because of the "clam shell" design, they will leak out liquids super easy. Bring back the paper containers !

The best way I could describe the flavor of sea squirt is that it is not so different than putting your tongue on a 9V battery. Blech!

i always get into this discussion when my parents order sea cucumber or sea squirt in the states...koreans dont know why they order those sea animals besides it being expensive or harder to get especially when they just dose it in pepper paste...i dont get it it doesnt taste good and if you eat it "fresh" you dont taste anything
Aloha. Used to work on a dive boat in Alaska. Five days a week for uni, weekends for sea cucumbers. My boss cut them open, scraped out the ribs, dusted with seasoned flour, and fried. Tasted like clam strips.
