I know you normally do mandos but you should do a Rex phase 2 helmet so you can have legit weld joints showing on the face plate

If you do this technique again I would suggest maybe a clear coat the texture layer see if that might stop the reaction between the two

You can also use a toothpick to go over fine/small details with paint
