Same age. This soundtrack takes me back to the first time I've played this game. Just to put into context I had a Mega Drive (Genesis) at the time and my friend called me to say he had bought the Super NES and had Super Mario World and F-Zero and that F-Zero was insane. I immediately went to his house and we started playing F-Zero and those Mode 7 graphics just BLEW ME AWAY! We spent hours playing it. Then I somehow convinced my dad I also needed a Super NES so I was lucky to have both 16-bit consoles which was great because games were very different on each platform (not like today as games are the same on Playstation and Xbox). Anyway, fast forward all these years and F-Zero is still one of my favorite racing games ever made. I regularly play it on Retroarch. Great memories of a time that sadly will never return. No internet. Just magazines with info about new consoles and games. Rental stores and games in cartridges with no 'day one patches'. Amazing.
I did the same thing with so many other games as well, and now they are all on youtube. Doing the same on "Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze" would have taken months, but I was on vacation for part of the time, so it didn't take as long.

Always loved how classy this OST was. The others are great and all, but it's all about the jazz results screen, the smooth records list, synth keys with woodwind melodies. It isn't just a big techno fest, or metal thrashing. It isn't afraid to throw a lead guitar solo alongside a church organ. Its bass and percussion first presentation is also something Nintendo rarely ever did again and I miss it dearly.
Always enjoyed the music to this game growing up, but it wasn't until I got older and became a musician that I appreciated them even more. 22:13 One thing I really love about the SNES game soundtracks, there are many tracks with such a smooth, groovy walking bass. Decades later, I think that was one reason why I developed an interest for Japanese fusion jazz, which then lead me to jazz.
he is remembering the mode 7 graphic Chip possessor in the super Nintendo games . you can see what he means if you go back and play mario kart the original and F-Zero
Man, what a proof of concept this was for this console allowing racing game tracks to be more complex than the previous Outrun/Rad Racer-type stuff. I honestly held off getting into SMK for a bit because the OG F-Zero just as it was in 1-player was so fast and exhilarating.
The real reason this is impressive is that this was pretty much before the era of music editing software. You had to be as much a computer scientist as a composer to make this sort of thing back then.
+Rico Cori I don't get it - you played the shit out of it, but you were disappointed? If a game's disappointing, don't you stop playing a bit sooner? I personally thought it was great. Though I never did finish the last event on Firefield!
Funny thing is I only bought this game because it was $40 and I couldn't afford a newer game like Chrono Trigger. Turned out to be wayyyy better than I thought. Every music track on this game is memorable and the racing is so f'in fast.
Such as Turtles in Time, Actraiser series, Mario RPG, Seiken series (a lot of the big JRPG TBH), Zelda, Metroid 3, Rockman X series...so many of them, even if I think Chrono Trigger OST comes itself from another planet :)
I still play this on the Wii U! My kids watch me but they would rather play Mario Kart. My favorite car is the green one, I blow up too easily with the other ones. And yes, I have fond memories of getting a SNES for Christmas and playing this game on a big screen CRT.
***** Well... yeah on CT, but that's sort of in a league of its own. I'd but this ahead of Zelda any day though. Zelda has higher highs, but with F Zero, every song is good. Zelda is like one of those albums where you only download the singles, whereas FZ is like an album that you play all the way through (maybe fast forwarding through Fire Field).
Played this game for the first time in 1992 on my SNES!! Amazing game and amazing soundtrack! One of the best racing games of all time. Arcade quality super fast scrolling amazed us kids & teens in 1992, yay! :)

This gives me so much memories of playing john tanaka on all the famous tracks just zooming past my opponents, those days will never be forgotten, the f-zero franchise is truly gold, my personal favorite track was fire field on king cup, truly the best days of my life.
3:20 and this is why i started to love this soundtrack... And just for the record.. the starting counter (the zoom) in the game before any race is the most original sound that i ever heard it literally gave me chills.. (Idk english sorry guys).
One of my favorite games back in the SNES days. The OST was amazing. Hard to pick a favorite but might be Port Town, Silence, Inferno, and Sand Ocean. And the rest of them. How bout just the whole thing. BTW it was awesome that they rearranged the theme from White Land for White Land II instead of just using the song again. A cool "remix."

When I was playing this back in the day, I was listening to a Tangerine Dream album called Rockoon (borrowed from a local library). I guess I was going through an electronica phase because I quickly became addicted to both, musically. That music and this music got mixed up in my memory, and I've only recently been able to find a copy of Rockoon on CD (in my price range). Today, it occurred to me that UA-cam might have game soundtracks and now I can separate them in my head. Thanks, UA-cam!
Port Town Aero Drive is an underrated song in my opinion. While later games opted to integrate it into the "everything is a crazy fast and complex rock song", in this game it was a more chill song, with a soothing trumpet and bass melody and a quick yet not overpowering drumline. Really made a nice "feeling" of high paced driving on a nice coast-side racetrack.

The intro to Mute City still gives me chills!!
same with red canyon
This game is remarkable. A real good reason to own a SNES at that time.
Played it for hours when I was 9 or 10. This, SMW and Pilotwings
Fzero 99 is pretty good.
"Silence" is my personal favorite on this soundtrack. Overall, this is insanely enjoyable and brings back so many awesome memories.
22:13 One thing I really love about the SNES game soundtracks, there are many tracks with such a smooth, groovy walking bass.
Decades later, I think that was one reason why I developed an interest for Japanese fusion jazz, which then lead me to jazz.
Those bass lines are so sick.
some of the nicest 16 bit basslines i've heard
This was the first SNES game I owned. It was and still is amazing.
Dayum, you have to look hard nowadays to find gaming soundtracks as good as from the late 80's and early 90's of gaming!
I Always liked how background in game looks it really gives you some feeling that you are, you know....
+Barockman Obama inside? yeah i know, imagination was worth back then, now... everything is about graphic and perfection (whine on a small bug)
Yeah, I always liked to imagine thing myself, you know sprites sometimes would look bad and you would look it at the way you want.
Am I having a stroke because I have no idea what this comment means
But he is not black or a person he is a robot Rock man
he is remembering the mode 7 graphic Chip possessor in the super Nintendo games . you can see what he means if you go back and play mario kart the original and F-Zero
Man, what a proof of concept this was for this console allowing racing game tracks to be more complex than the previous Outrun/Rad Racer-type stuff. I honestly held off getting into SMK for a bit because the OG F-Zero just as it was in 1-player was so fast and exhilarating.
Man, the snes sound chip was the real mvp. Some of the best OSTs you will find anywhere.
Absolutely.
The real reason this is impressive is that this was pretty much before the era of music editing software. You had to be as much a computer scientist as a composer to make this sort of thing back then.
This game was included when i got the snes in 1993
Bleistift damn right, and what a disapointment it was after you played the shit out of it
Rico Cori I found it pretty entertaining
+Rico Cori What are you guys talking about this game is sweet
+Rico Cori You clearly weren't there.
+Rico Cori I don't get it - you played the shit out of it, but you were disappointed? If a game's disappointing, don't you stop playing a bit sooner?
I personally thought it was great. Though I never did finish the last event on Firefield!
Port Town = 16 bit musical GENIUS! So insane that this came out so long ago, fuck it blows my fucking mind
Listening to this was a wave of nostalgia. It brought back memories when I was a kid having a lot of fun playing this.
I remember when my parents gave me this game back in 97 being just 7 years old . I was the happiest kid ever. Love F-Zero.
15:12 is in my heart the best one
Same tho
Aquí volví de nuevo en el 2024, otra dosis de este OST, uno de los mejores de Super Nintendo.
Mute City, Big Blue and Port Town are my favs.... such a great OST
Silence is a dope track 🔥🔥🔥
It's back.
Despite all the amazing ost in the game, 10:38 is what comes into mind especially late at night
It’s 3 AM right now, and yeah, same.
Silence :~~~~~ Too many feelings... Best game song ever.
but the track is a piece of shit.
disagree. Alot of 90 degree corners sure, but nothing beats that adrenaline rush from hitting the shortcut, dodging the mines and nailing that ramp.
Mint Grizz unless ur like me. Failing the shortcut, getting rekt by mines and fucking up that ramp.
***** overused clichés are being overused.
Gitting gud is part of a healthy balanced lifestyle.
scrub.
When even Select Time Theme is a banger, you know it's a 10/10 OST
Funny thing is I only bought this game because it was $40 and I couldn't afford a newer game like Chrono Trigger. Turned out to be wayyyy better than I thought. Every music track on this game is memorable and the racing is so f'in fast.
Some very complex compositions here. Right up there with DKC 2, FF6 and Super Castlevania 4. Love this ost, its pure genius.
22 years later and I still whistle these tunes every morning on my way to work.
Every morning?
I bet you rarely arrive late.
Bro never arrives too late.
This song has been playing over and over in my subconscious for 30 years!
Silence and Port Town have been in my head for over 20 years.
Phenomenal OST. As a child, my cousin and I would try our best to beat this game, but couldn't handle the intensifying race of the 26th century!
I still hum Silence from time-to-time.
I listened to this OST while i was mowing the lawn
i now have no lawn
RIP, lawn.
@@TheAudiopulse I feel like he went out of control and mowed the neighbors lawns too
I listened to this OST while I was grooming my dog with a hair trimmer.
Now I have no dog. 😆
Messier Sombrero Galaxy is on my PC wallpaper
Big blue triggers something inside me, that track touches my soul in some wierd way. Brilliant melody
"Big Blue" @02:44 always does it for me, so great. Thank you Yumiko Kanki and Naoto Ishida.
Pound for pound, probably the best soundtrack of any SNES game.
DB Pooper Considering that this was basically a launch title, it's supremely impressive.
DB Pooper Krabby Supra Ster also had an amazing soundtrack.
DB Pooper Don't forget Dankey Kang
***** Final Fantasy had the sickest music imo. I can only speak for 1 to 6 though.
Played this game for the first time in 1992 on my SNES!! Amazing game and amazing soundtrack! One of the best racing games of all time. Arcade quality super fast scrolling amazed us kids & teens in 1992, yay! :)
Ugh. So nostalgic. To be that young again. No stress
I suppose this message may never receive my friendly youtuber, but your work is extremely gratifying. Vgm , especially snes hAs totally redefined what is possible and acceptable, I will never go without the perfection of my youth again. My most powerful gratitude.
que audio incrivel, não pude ter a tecnica ideal para terminar o jogo na epoca. mas marcou demais
This gives me so much memories of playing john tanaka on all the famous tracks just zooming past my opponents, those days will never be forgotten, the f-zero franchise is truly gold, my personal favorite track was fire field on king cup, truly the best days of my life.
This whole thing is pure class but my favorite 15:12 PORT TOWN what a fucking neckbreaker let's gooooo
Big Blue is great, but it is nothing Close to port Town.
Nothing comes close to Top Gear and F Zero soundtracks
3:20 and this is why i started to love this soundtrack...
And just for the record.. the starting counter (the zoom) in the game before any race is the most original sound that i ever heard it literally gave me chills..
(Idk english sorry guys).
One of my favorite games back in the SNES days. The OST was amazing. Hard to pick a favorite but might be Port Town, Silence, Inferno, and Sand Ocean. And the rest of them. How bout just the whole thing. BTW it was awesome that they rearranged the theme from White Land for White Land II instead of just using the song again. A cool "remix."
I really like "Mute City". 0:52
Port Town 1, the nostalgia just hit me so hard right now...

Loved my childhood. I’m so thankful to have grown up in the 1980s and 1990s.
My first SNES game along with super mario world. I still remember that loud crash effect hahaha
Awesome upload
Port Town Aero Drive is an underrated song in my opinion. While later games opted to integrate it into the "everything is a crazy fast and complex rock song", in this game it was a more chill song, with a soothing trumpet and bass melody and a quick yet not overpowering drumline. Really made a nice "feeling" of high paced driving on a nice coast-side racetrack.
I've had this soundtrack on the brain lately and just had to give it a listen. Thanks!
Those bass lines in Silence. Jaw dropped.
And that's how you catch the Ferry on time.
Haha I'd love to see a video of you running to the ferry with this music in the background.
The classic. I still own this in original hardware and beat it all in Master.
30 years and it's still the best music ever made.
