Every time The Lion King 2 gets some actual credit, I get so happy. It's such an underrated movie. Same for The Fox and the Hound, but at least I hear "some" people talking about it. Both are definetly among my favorite Disney movies and have the same message presented in equally strong ways.

Disney Songs may be really sad and I sometimes don't get tears, but 'Remember Me', sung by Hector in the past and Miguel in the present along with his grandma...it bring tears in my eyes no matter what.
“When Somebody Loved Me”, “Aloha Oe”, and of course “Baby Mine” break me to tears for a number of reasons: 1) the first due to my family losing connection with my brother because of matters i cannot explain 2) the second due to every time i return home after visiting said brother, especially after the first time i saw him in a correctional facility 3) the second and third due to me losing beloved pets...that i had raised since they were babies (recently my family lost two dogs...one month apart) and there is one version of “Baby Mine” that will always make me cry. 😭
I am glad that the song Baby Mine from Dumbo is number 1 on the list. Even though it’s very comforting but depressing, it reminds me of my late mother. Every time I saw Dumbo as a child, I never understood how sad this song could actually be to someone. Now that I’m older and watch this movie, I try to hold back the tears when this song plays because I enjoyed my mom’s presence and was shocked when she died unexpectedly two years ago. I also have the same reaction when I hear Your Mother and Mine from Peter Pan (1953), but it gets funny towards the end when Mr. Smee starts crying and Captain Hook shushes him.

"When She Loved Me" always has me in tears anytime the movie comes on. This song is also the main reason why I still have all my toys boxed up at my parents house so that one day when I have kids they can play with them. Same with "Reflection" I was also a tom boy growing up and there were some girls in my kindergarten class that would make fun of me because I would rather play Star Wars with the boys at recess instead of playing house, on the bright side though I always got to pretend I was Leia; so it wasn't all bad.

That was my reaction too, haha. I was certain 'When She Loved Me" would be number one. I was like "What could possibly be above that?! Then the reveal. "Oh, yeah, I'll give y'all that one." The live action version of that scene is even more heartwrenching.

“No Way Out” completely shattered my heart. I could not stop crying thinking of all the pain Koda endured. It was a moment I never forgot. I can only imagine how I would feel if I heard my mom was killed by the person I cared for the most. The other songs are indeed depressing, but most don’t involve a shattering truth that no matter what it cannot be reversed or repaired. No matter how much you wish for it. All you can do is except that truth and hold the weight of that burden forever.
I still can’t help but think that “For the First Time In Forever” is sadder than “Do You Wanna Build a Snowman?”. The honest excitement that Anna feels around meeting new people is unbelievable touching.
The song at #9 is actually called "One of Us" I know this because I own the movie on DVD not only that I own a CD called Best of the Lion King and on the back of the case it lists all of the the songs that are on the CD and it says "One of Us" there

LOL I thought the same. If anything, Go The Distance is more of an uplifting song, as it's about embarking on a whole new journey in your life, approaching towards adulthood, basically getting to know yourself, etc.. The only sad part about it is Hercules leaving his earth parents behind.

You are banished from your tribe for no particular reason. That's sad. Sad song doesn't have to sound hopeless and desperate. But it should have heartbroken and deep true meaning underneath all the lyrics
Those who only focus on Do You Want To Build A Snowman's happier verses didn't really care much about the song/didn't want to. Definitely deserved a spot. Go the Distance didn't though. It was too uplifting. It did the opposite of DYWTBAS which started out hopeful and ended on a sad note while GTD just became more hopeful until it ended. I would have even put Pocahontas' If I Never Knew You or Brother Bear 2's It Will Be Me instead. Still, #1 definitely deserved it.
I remember watching it with the scene in the movie, but other times it wasn’t there so I got confused and so upset, that is probably the saddest Disney song ever because it sadly predicts even after they managed to stop the war he is mortally wounded and has to let her go. First time I watched it I was completely crushed 😭😭
“No Way Out” and “You’ll Be In My Heart” aren’t the only Phil Collins songs that can tug at your heart strings. Even some Genesis songs (Phil Collins was in that band) like “Land Of Confusion” can fill you with intense emotions
So glad Brother Bear was featured! Such an underrated film and one of my favourites but Goodbye May Seem Forever is irresputibly worthy of being pronounced one of the top 5 saddest disney songs and does not deserve to be a lowly honourable mention on a top 10 list!

I didn't cry for it. But that was because I haven't watched Dumbo since I was like six and it didn't really register to me what was going on because I was emotionally stunted as a child. It'd probably make me cry if I watched the movie again NOW. But tbh I don't really WANT to watch the old Dumbo, what with the "Pink Elephants on Parade" sequence and the whole "jim crows" thing... might watch the remake though.

I'm actually crying real tears right now, despite the fact that I'm SO glad that they got this countdown right. I remember as a kid watching Dumbo and losing it almost every time, but still loving that song. Some of the choices, #5-#10, could possibly be interchange their position, but the top 4 was dead on.
I'd like to point out something about When She Loved Me: Randy Newman, who wrote it, almost took it out of the film, wondering if the kids would be able to sit through it. The main reason it was kept in? It made Tom Hanks and Tim Allen bawl their eyes out.
I watched Brother Bear the other day and wept when Coda united with his mother’s ghost during the ending even if for a second, it was so much sadder than I previously remembered when I was younger. Coco makes me cry everytime, no matter how much I watch it. It made me cry the first time and makes me cry ever since then. I notice I cry a lot more as an adult than I did as a kid at movies and shows.

My vote would be the opening song to Oliver & Company. I can never watch that movie ever again. I know it’s fictional, and a cartoon, but I damn near get teary eyed whenever I see Oliver neglected, and the song doesn’t help! OMG I effing almost cried at the end of the movie, too!

"When She Loved Me" always has me in tears anytime the movie comes on. This song is also the main reason why I still have all my toys boxed up at my parents house so that one day when I have kids they can play with them. Same with "Reflection" I was also a tom boy growing up and there were some girls in my kindergarten class that would make fun of me because I would rather play Star Wars with the boys at recess instead of playing house, on the bright side though I always got to pretend I was Leia; so it wasn't all bad.
"Remember Me" will always have a special place in my heart 💜 Coco was the first movie I saw after my mother passed away and those lyrics always stuck with me

That was my reaction too, haha. I was certain 'When She Loved Me" would be number one. I was like "What could possibly be above that?! Then the reveal. "Oh, yeah, I'll give y'all that one." The live action version of that scene is even more heartwrenching.

So it isn't just me?? That movie's ending always makes me sob like a baby, even though it's arguably one of the happiest disney movie endings. Something about it just always hits me where it hurts
Which Jambareeqi has reviewed just now. And although he is actually shown to be mixed towards that movie, he is mostly very positive towards that film, as he did like Mr. Enter's videos including his Admirable Animation on Meet the Robinsons.

Coasters, Gaming and Stuff it was the first movie i ever cried at. i'd just turned five when it came out & it made me promise 2 never ever get rid of any of my toys ever again. i was devastated when i heard toys r us was closing too :'( im almost 24 & i still love it & i still love toys :( on may 18 2014 i went there & got woody cuz hes my favorite of the toys like andy. i just went back last year & got buzz. but one of his wings broke so i took him back & got another one but i wish i kept him. when i heard it was closing i went back & got jessie, rex & sarge & the soldiers but i had 2 order bullseye from amazon cuz of them closing :(

“No Way Out” completely shattered my heart. I could not stop crying thinking of all the pain Koda endured. It was a moment I never forgot. I can only imagine how I would feel if I heard my mom was killed by the person I cared for the most. The other songs are indeed depressing, but most don’t involve a shattering truth that no matter what it cannot be reversed or repaired. No matter how much you wish for it. All you can do is except that truth and hold the weight of that burden forever.
I still can’t help but think that “For the First Time In Forever” is sadder than “Do You Wanna Build a Snowman?”. The honest excitement that Anna feels around meeting new people is unbelievable touching.
Elsa for me during for the first time in forever is basically exactly me (or maybe just as Elsa throughout most of the movie)

The song at #9 is actually called "One of Us" I know this because I own the movie on DVD not only that I own a CD called Best of the Lion King and on the back of the case it lists all of the the songs that are on the CD and it says "One of Us" there

LOL I thought the same. If anything, Go The Distance is more of an uplifting song, as it's about embarking on a whole new journey in your life, approaching towards adulthood, basically getting to know yourself, etc.. The only sad part about it is Hercules leaving his earth parents behind.
Do you wanna build a snowman is a sad song. It's Anna desperate attempt to make her sister happy. The true meaning of the song is a sad one. It's happy sounding sad song. You are banished from your tribe for no particular reason. That's sad. Sad song doesn't have to sound hopeless and desperate. But it should have heartbroken and deep true meaning underneath all the lyrics
Those who only focus on Do You Want To Build A Snowman's happier verses didn't really care much about the song/didn't want to. Definitely deserved a spot. Go the Distance didn't though. It was too uplifting. It did the opposite of DYWTBAS which started out hopeful and ended on a sad note while GTD just became more hopeful until it ended. I would have even put Pocahontas' If I Never Knew You or Brother Bear 2's It Will Be Me instead. Still, #1 definitely deserved it.
Liete ‘If I Never Knew You’ is a deleted song, though. This channel did a list on deleted Disney songs and it was on it.

I remember watching it with the scene in the movie, but other times it wasn’t there so I got confused and so upset, that is probably the saddest Disney song ever because it sadly predicts even after they managed to stop the war he is mortally wounded and has to let her go. First time I watched it I was completely crushed 😭😭
“No Way Out” and “You’ll Be In My Heart” aren’t the only Phil Collins songs that can tug at your heart strings. Even some Genesis songs (Phil Collins was in that band) like “Land Of Confusion” can fill you with intense emotions

I didn't cry for it. But that was because I haven't watched Dumbo since I was like six and it didn't really register to me what was going on because I was emotionally stunted as a child. It'd probably make me cry if I watched the movie again NOW. But tbh I don't really WANT to watch the old Dumbo, what with the "Pink Elephants on Parade" sequence and the whole "jim crows" thing... might watch the remake though.
People have to have a heart of stone to not be saddened by that scene.

I watched Brother Bear the other day and wept when Coda united with his mother’s ghost during the ending even if for a second, it was so much sadder than I previously remembered when I was younger.
Coco makes me cry everytime, no matter how much I watch it. It made me cry the first time and makes me cry ever since then. I notice I cry a lot more as an adult than I did as a kid at movies and shows.
One of the saddest disney songs in my opinion is I'll try from peter pan 2. That movie was one of my favourites growing up, and the song is so emotional, especially if you listen to both parts in one go.
