      Fully agree. She even does it on blocking shots and slices, which means it’s not a necessary byproduct of hitting hard. It’s just to up the intensity for herself and annoy the living christ out of her opponent - and the audience.

    • @JCHCC
      @JCHCC Рік тому +48

      Agreed. It is hindrance and totally unnecessary. In fact, if she does it on a soft shot, it is just her trying to fake the opponent in to thinking she hit it hard, perhaps them being a step slow to the ball. For all of Sabalenka's strength, there is no need to still be grunting when the ball is at her opponent.

Without those injuries in the past, she would´ve been in top 10 already in my opinion. Sabalenka is a gunner and I am really happy that creative tennis defeated strength. I've been watching tennis for 40 years and in that time there's been many great players that I've enjoyed following both men and women players. In saying that in the last 10 years or so I've become a bit put off by the over aggressive behaviours and louder and louder grunting and screaming by the players. So when a player like Karolina Muchova comes along I am in admiration of her poise and calmness and little to no grunting or screaming. Of course she gets emotional like all players do but she holds herself really well and shows respect for her opponents in ways I've not seen for some time. As well, she is a very talented player and deserves to be in the final of the French Open.

    The fact that Karo not only hung around with Aryna's power, but showed her own power plays was magnificent. She's also a fantastic mover. Considering what I saw in Iga's SF I think Karo has a shot to take the final to 3 and it would be amazing to have a 4th person who can challenge Iga after Aryna, Elena, and Jessie. Women's tennis is SO exciting right now!!!

    Thoroughly impressed by the guts and perseverance of Muchova. I was following the match 30-40 when it was 5-2, and after she won that game I was impressed by her attitude to not give up and keep playing. Some people complain that Sabalenka and Swiatek would have been a better matchup. To make a baseball analogy, I'd rather have the average team with a pitcher that has control and can paint the corners, than a team of home run hitters which is what Sabalenka woulda been. Her only chance would to be to ace those service games. Muchova can do it a lot of different ways.

    One for the Classic Collection. Muchova's gutsy performance vs Sabalenka is worthy of her lifting a Grandslam trophy but alas it's the semifinal stage. Her composure to fend off a match-point and to reel off five straight games to win is awesome. I'm in awe with her court craft and determination to win even though she was struggling with her fitness. She was "poetry in motion"especially at the net. Hope she's not injured and be able to play her best in the finals vs Swiatec. Thanks to her for silencing Sabalenka we shall have a pleasant finals to watch without having to mute or wear ear plugs. Hope she'll win her first Grandslam and make Martina Navratilova proud.

    It was utterly a leading-edge clash in the history of the women tennis. It will commonly be one of the most memorable matches of the history. It is really amazing to see the magnificent comeback of the valiant Muchova. I am always proud of her perseverance, tenacity, resolution, desire, ambition and gallantry. When the score was 2-5 (30-40) in the serve game of Muchova, everyone thought it had been over. However, Muchova said not yet. From where to where, it was the divine justice to see the real winner in the end. Massive congrats to Valiant Karolina Muchova!
