- We really, really liked this one! It's a 1977 Ericson 36C (c is for cruising) sailboat for sale designed by Bruce King. Bruce King knows how to design a fast and pretty boat and this bluewater sailboat for sale is no exception. Take this boat offshore and do some bluewater sailing, or just keep it as a coastal boat to enjoy with a large group of your close friends... they'll enjoy the giant cockpit!!

Om my way...
Is this beauty still available
I learned the most about sailing in this episode.
My God! I love this boat...and I have since I saw one in the late 1970s!
For anyone as tall as CQ, or shorter, this boat is a no-brainer. Total gem. $25k is a steal.
Does seem like it! Cheers
Perfect cockpit, beautiful saloon, cozy and effective owner stateroom, nice looking cabinetry, beautiful rigging, the only thing I can see wrong is the lifeline needing replacement. What a great boat for $25k. Old man envy in full swing here.
Same!
When I show people an opening of the Capt Q episode of the week, I always tell them with pride, like a young child, "Hey I was at the helm of that boat with Capt Q and Ran-day last Father's Day!"
That is right!! And it was a 12m at that!!
@@YachtHunters That's right and it was awesome!
So far of all your videos, this is my favorite. What a boat, huge cockpit, flush deck and great interior layout. Wonderful lines, a true yacht if there ever was.
It’s right up there for us… wonderful condition too! Cheers
I haven't even seen the video yet, and I know I'm liking it. Might be a bit partial as an ericson owner. They sail great for cruising.
25k for a ready to go little cruiser is amazing. Its like nobody has a good excuse not to get sailing today .add a small diesel stove and you could go off season New England sight seeing. Dreaming out loud.....another gem .
Or even a sea swing (see episode #7) to keep it simple
@@YachtHunters I'm off to check out that video! Ericson 28+ and a winter project is installing a sea swing for cooking on passages. Always better to run through all the ideas one can before drilling a hole in a boat.
Louis Sullivan is my favorite architect. I'm glad to hear him referenced! He did a lot of beautiful things, and that quote was about trying to find an American style of architecture after so much echoed from other places in unimpressive and simply derivative ways. I'm a nerd.
This boat has a lot of DNA relating it to Thomas Gillmer's Blue Moon... my cockpit is so so similar. Raised deck 'midships, but this lil guy has a sweep on that bulwarks like a Stone Horse. NOICE. It's got me! -Anne
Was that a three stooges “Noice”??
She's as pretty inside as she is on the outside!!! What a classic and like new! Awesome!! Thanks to both of you as always a great video! Stay safe and healthy guys🙏
Thanks Curtis!! Cheers
Oh Captain, my Captain! I HAVE FALLEN IN LOVE with this beauty. If I were a younger man I would hop on it and buy it. But at 84 I will be captive by its beauty and charm and admire it afar from Ft. Lauderdale. So good to view Sea Dog with a home like this. Thank you for giving an old man such a sweet dream. You and Randy are The Best!
Cheers Thomas!! Happy to keep the dream alive!!
Thanks for sharing Thomas!!
What a beauty!! This is exactly what I am looking for. I need to get all my nickels together and jump when these pop up!
Just a few nickels away from salty Freedom
I've had the pleasure of sailing on this boat. Let me tell you, it is ALL THAT! Her fine captain entertained many guests in that spacious and comfortable cockpit, gracing Narragansett Bay with her powerful cutter rig, The sheets are easy to handle, and the helm is light and responsive as she drives to windward. It is such a handsomely crafted vessel and so well cared for, I told the skipper it was a museum class boat, a description Cap'n Q used also.
lucky you... we would have loved to have taken her for a spin on the Narragansett. cheers
I saw this boat (or one just like her...) tied up in Portsmouth, NH, back in the 80s. She has such a different - and very clean - look, that I couldn't
work out what she was... In its own way, this boat is exotic. I was shocked to see here that she was an Ericson - not that Ericson doesn't build nice boats. She's just so not a part of a "line" of boats that share design and finish details...
What a beauty! Immaculate condition, and a cockpit that could fit parents, siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends... At once.
thats the good news and bad.....lol
B-E-A-UTIFUL yacht!! Thanks for sharing this great cruiser. Can’t wait to see the next one y’all find for us.
Ahhhhh, it's Thursday night. Thanks for another episode Capt Q. And Rand-day, thanks for the videography and editing. It really is awesome.
WOW! PRETTY IMPRESSIVE for only 36 feet. Some pretty unique features. I'd buy it if I already had the financing approved.
Omg 😮best 36 for this price … period. Amazing
Always a great day, with Captain Q and Ran-DAY!
What a deal for this qualify. Kudos to the owner for keeping it pristine. Thanks for a great presentation.
How I wish smart people like y’all would live forever love you guys
My new favorite. I just love that cockpit, heck, all of it!
sweet, no?
Our friend had one of these and bragged about having the largest cockpit in the marina. Such a beautiful boat and yes, this boat can take heavy weather and clip along nicely.
I am just absolutely flabbergasted by this boat! Truly magnificent. Thank you, Captain and Ran-day, for sharing it with us. This boat just moved to the top of my wish list.
thank you for watching
I don't know when I found you channel, but I'm glad I did.
It's a pleasure to learn while you discuss all of these wonderful boats with a little fun humor and a jazzy attitude. Thanks
we are so happy you found us and we hope we can maintain your enthusiam
Of all the boats I've seen on this channel, this is my favorite.
Beautiful, just wonderfully beautiful. Thank you gentlemen and the owner for showing us this beauty. A definite 40.
agree and thank you for confirming
Wow what a beautiful boat. So clean out side and so much room below decks.
wow, that's a pretty boat... very elegant interior design. smart
That was a wonderful boat at a great price !! Another great video guys!!
Fair winds ⛵️
Thanks Tom!
Look forward to these every Thursday night, thanks for another great one!
Thank you Zac!
I absolutley love this gem of a boat so much, I'm going to watch it again!
Thanks again guys, your channel is great and I look forward to Thursday evenings so much after a 12 HR shift.
Wow good for you for working so hard… cheers Kevi and thanks for watching
@@YachtHunters
thanks, the reason for long days is because it's hard to find workers now to do an 8 hr shift. But I digress my apologies.
Keep bringing them brothers, this one is perfect at that price point and your sailing channel is my top 1
These videos are why I love this show! What a beautiful boat! I love how you guys get in every nook and cranny, not sure if I like the beauty of the boats, or the knowledge I gain from every episode more. Thank you! P.S. bonus points were given by my wife because of the proximity to her hometown!
she is eagle eyed....3 pts at least
This is the best one yet for both design and value. This is the one Ran-day should have bought. Love everything about it. Thanks for letting us see it. 🐟
you're right, it's a fantastic value... it's a super boat and for $25k you'll be hard pressed to find something better. I was looking for a little more of a project boat that I could learn more of the systems and modify it to a go-anywhere kind of boat.... this boat needs very little!! ;)
While I'm wishing for things, I wouldn't mind the boat being a bit longer, and having things for long distance cruising, like a water maker, etc., but that is only because, in virtually every way, shape, and form, this is my DREAM BOAT! So attractive, so well built, love the historic air about her, her lines, the set-in cabin access, aft cabin, staysail-ready, just Perfect!
So... A couple would be just fine and comfy on long trips with this little gem, so... plenty of room for extras - like a water maker!
Cap'n Q is so knowledgeable! I'm amazed with every video!
Thank you Max!
Another great one Capt!
I'd love this Beautiful sailboat.
Cheers Jeff
Thanks jeff! She’s a beaut!
This vessel is a real Gem 💎
🌞🌴⛵️
What a cute boat! That’s perfect for a liveaboard if you’re not too big or tall and have time for a little bit of maintenance older boats inevitably need but wow! Very pretty! ❤
spot on ...
I've been watching since episode #1and this boat has a beautiful... captivating look (not counting the PB of course) that will make someone a happy sailor! When you rank this season's boats this has got to be in the top three (3). Happy sails.
it just might but there is serious competition this year
Hey there Peter! Thank you for this great video! It's great to see a well maintained Ericson like this 36C. Scot King, son of Bruce King
Thanks for watching, Scot. We are big fans of your Dad's work... this one was an exceptional design of his... great to hear from you! cheers
I have helmed the Fazisi (sometimes with 6 for more than a week) and no matter the weather, what I missed on many other boats, no matter the size, was mast - line of sight - LED displays. Usually mounted low just below my foremost bow deck line angle. (I see all there, for me) Or higher on the mast pointed down to lower on the helm than in my direct line of sight.
Everything(!) in LARGE bright, straight-line, middle-of-line helm/wheel hub-centered projected displays. Never had to take my eyes away or blink at night for the change from the display lights to the next course adjustment - out there.
Simplicity is everything on a 24-hour helm team - especially at night in steep rollers/storms. Watch way far out in a Maxi,
you will be there before you think.
And I love the need for speed - even at 2 up, 4 down, on a 4-hour rotation. Oh to be young again. but damn, windburn is a good thing
Classic and i'm not talking about the boat :) thank you guys beautiful form and function sailing vessel.
Hahaha thanks very much!
What a beautiful boat, and great video!!!
Many thanks!
What a great boat. I will have to keep that in mind.
One of my favorites so far! Love the channel and you guys
Thank you sir Atom!!
I truly love your passion you really inspire me
Well Crap! Here ya go. I'm thinking that I'll watch "Just one more" of your oh so amazing boat "tours." So "not gonna lie". I was just overwhelmed with the idea of "enjoyment." Yea I was thinking "I am really enjoying this video" ~ probably kudos to Randall. ~ So I make a decision to pop on down to make a comment about feeling "enjoyment." Much to my surprise there, lo and behold, is my comment, says 7 months ago, with an "Oh my goodness" ~ not once but three times. Must be the ballroom dancing. ✨😉✨
Oh yea.... Chalk this one up to my "short term memory" ~ which is "waining". Oh well. I remember this as you talk about the tuck in the offset cockpit entrance. All so good. Yes. On and on and on. Thank you so much for all that you guys do. ✨♥✨
What an absolute gem!
Agreed
This boat is the biggest steal of any boat you ever reviewed
Fair… great boat… and awesome bang for buck
I love this boat Capt Q. I often think of sailing from Boston Harbor to Rockland, Maine in something like this. This boat also looks like a much larger version of a Stone Horse 23!
that woul be a great inaugural
Talk about a great boat bruce king really made this boat wonderfull for the size and accommodation very much reminds me of a sam crocker alden stone horse of a newer age looks like I know where bruce and Erickson got their great idea from not only that I think they 1 upped it first it is built of fiberglass 2nd the whole offset companionway and bridgedeck also the fantail cockpit just made the boat and the way all the previous owners have taken care of this vessel shows it is great to see fiberglass boat owners with the same care that a wooden boat owner has very nice episode capt q and randeyyyyy
thank you kindly, Graham!! well said!
Nice boat!!!! Thank you Capi Q, we learn a lot from you, love classic boats!! Cheeers from Perú!!!!!!
Thank you all in Peru for watching ...hope to visit there someday
I really liked that little boat. Thank you.
Great boat at a terrific price. A few small issues and you all set to cruise the coast..really nice!!
Well said, matthew!
My favorite of all the boats you have reviewed to date.
Thanks
Superb! Looks like there may be a bidding war!
dont know but someone bought it before the mega bucks was awarded
What a stunning, exceptionally well kept little vessel with an amazing aft cabin that looks like something from a much larger than 36' yacht. I love everything about it but the galley but that wouldn't be to hard to redesign. The engine access is amazing albeit a little under powered for my liking but then again she is an extremely capable sailor from the look of things. If I had the 25k I'd already be in the process of making this my new cruising boat as I bet she'd be a dream to bomb around on in the Bahamas.
Thanks for the tour as always and you gents always find the coolest yachts out there...
Cheers and another viewer commented that they had the same engine in a much heavier boat so you might be surprised how well she gets along with it… but each to their own. Glad you enjoyed it as much as we did
@@YachtHunters Yes I saw that comment so I'd be very comfortable taking her out. I just don't think I'd be willing to fight high currents but then again from what the other viewer said she may be just fine...
Really enjoying your videos for sometime now so glad you’re back Looking forward to new boats to look at and more to learn thank you, Captain Q 👍🇬🇧
Glad you like them!
She is a real gem she has style inside and out .And that engine WOW super clean and you can reach everything .And that helm area is to die for .she has every thing you need and nothing more .looking at the out side you would never guess how wonderful the interior is .Sailing all day and relaxing in the evening in comfort now that's what life should be all about .and her price ? that's a steal .
we thought so along with about 52,000 others hahhaha
My dad had the exact same boat in San Diego down to the blue trim stripe. I sent a lot of time on it, the v berth was my home. The steering system was different in my dad's, the wheel was mounted on a pedestal in the center of the cockpit sole. I think the system here is better, more direct. I like the emergency tiller receptacle too. His head the Volvo 3cyl diesel I believe. The ceiling was teak stripping, not naugahyde. The V berth had the filler piece with a fitted cushion. It made the V berth gigantic. Really enjoyed this video!
Your dad is a fortunate sailor 👍 this has been one of our most favorites through the years
OH my goodness oh my goodness, oh my goodness. Like what C3PO says in one of those star wars episodes: ~~~ "I am beside myself" ~~~ and I definitely do not have a "bad feeling about this." (Not like what Harrison Ford said.). Wow. just Wow! What a treat you guys offer. Nothin to say. Just typing. Enough. On and on and on. Wow.
Hahaha thanks steven!!
She's really lovely - gorgeous boat!
We've seen many nice boats, but this one is the special one for me, and it's the first episode I watched over and over again. If I would live in the USA, I'll buy it
thank you feel free to move ver but im afraid this one is gone already
My favorite so far. Thanks
Definitely one of my favorites.. ditch the wheel n go rudder .. gotta be a better way to just mount a multi control up top... Love this boat.. what a steal.. maybe you show his whole design collection?
Very interesting boat! Hard to get bored with that. Not a cookie cutter.
more like a birthday cake cutter for this guy yum
At only $25,000? Wow, what a lovely boat!
...what a fantastic boat! ...beautiful production ...as ever
thank you for watching
Dear Captain Q and Captain R, Thanks for your dedicated passion showing and teaching about those gems of human creativity, sailboats , in my opinion the must beautiful transportation artifact ever created, i must say that I’m also a cars enthusiast . I’ve never have been on board of one , still only in my dreams and every Thursday afternoon on those you show some of those gems. Again thanks so much. P.S. Cap Q very happy with your recovery, let’s me recommend doing a little research about healing properties on skin of aloe Vera ( the clear jelly inside its meaty leaf) Om
Thanks so much César!! We share your dreams and appreciation of artful forms of transportation! ❤️
Great video guys, thanks
First time I have noticed Ran Day's red and green shoes - port and starboard. Excellent! You guys are awesome.
Helps him get them on the correct feet
Usually
Nice boat. I thought it was going to be a little wanting in headroom but that's not the case. The woodwork is awesome. Keep the good stuff coming guys.
Thanks JL… we figured you might like this one 👍
What a gem! Capt, you sure know how to find them.
Thank you!
This looks like a lightly used and never abused boat. Quite a beauty!
Well said, Donna!!
I agree, it’s insane that this is a ‘77
Man I love this boat… very unique.
Agreed! 👍
What a beautiful boat.
Capt'Q and Randee strike again. Gorgeous vessel. These are even prettier in person than they are in video. A steal at $25K
Agreed!
Looks like a wonderful boat.
Definitely a great find!
As we say in french.. Beau, bon et pas cher ! Nice find guys. Keep up the great content and complicity
Merci beaucoup
You are a very brave man wearing those trousers in public and on video!!!
Thank you
what a beautiful BIG 36 foot boat!!!!!!!
Well said RJ!
looks like a dream. thanks for showing it.
Our pleasure!
Wow that boat is gorgeous. It has a very artistic look. Very cool and in great shape. If she were closer to my age, I would propose.
hahahahaha
What a handsome boat. Maybe your best find yet.
Thanks!
I thought sure you'd be pushing close to 60 on this boat. So many bonus points every where. Only a few odd/worn items that one would surely expect for its' age. Shoot, I'd go 60 just for being the prettiest boat you've shown us! :^)
Maybe the rain played a factor in keeping the rating reasonable?!? It’s tough to solve the algorithm 🤣
Beautiful!
I agree, function would follow form here. A floating work of art, and at a price that puts it closer to reality than fantasy.
One problem, I don't have enough friends to fill the cockpit (or would they come with it??)!
"if you build it they will come "
There are Ericsons all over the bay area but i've never seen one like this!
What a sweet sweet deal! It's a real bargain
Wow that's a beauty and a bargain 💙
I own one of the rare 39b Ericsons, but this boat is just Classy and incredible condition. I would swap any day of the week. Hello from New Zealand 🇳🇿.
Cheers Kyle!!
Ok Captain - 40 was a righteous rating!
Great boat! I have the same engine and it pushes My 38' steel cutter just right.
That’s great to know! Thanks mark
Beautiful, I like it! Nice ship.
I'm really really happy 😉 ! Very very nice boat, my quote was 38 👍
Plus nav station 😂
Excellent Show CQ!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Absolutely a doll!!!!!
Only $25k for this beauty?! Why am I looking at more expensive boats? What a cockpit! A little work (lifelines, galley redesign, propane compartment, etc.) is all she needs to be absolutely perfect. I imagine you'd be the belle of the ball wherever you sailed. Now I just need to figure out how to steer it. :) Thank you both for opening my eyes and assuring me that owning a beautiful boat doesn't have to break the bank.
well said... this is a prime example of a stellar boat with a lot of style and a very appealing price tag. cheers!
Wow no kidding its unique. Like in a Hollywood movie.
