what the fuck i did the same throw lou did, nice lil dramatic flair, and it landed in between a sock and a wall and rolled a nat 20 first time... finally i know the secret
Lou's luck is wild. When it matters---- He can roll 9 nat 1's in 3 episodes at key plot/battle moments as Fabian. When it doesn't matter--- he can roll a nat 20 to find hot dogs as Pinocchio or make a casino work AFTER winning 1.2M credits already.
I absolutely love that murphs hair REFUSED to move during the first nat 20. He tried SO hard to let his hair down but in the end his hair let him down.
Lou rolled a Nat 20 with Ally's die, which landed at Murph's seat, after Emily asked about the casino, inspired by Siobhan's character name pun (Riva Mas Vegas), a roll which Brennan suggested tweaking the result of, and afterwards Zac rolled yet another Nat 20 - now this is teamwork 😂🙌
Also that when he was sad thinking that: "what if i could do it too?" About killing the other Barrys, is not something any of them could do. Sorry about the bad English.
Can I just say, a casino basically owned by Margaret (Ally), with the spirit of Riva Mas Vegas (Riva/Siobhan), after Emily asked for how much money they got while parked, a Nat 20 rolls into Murphs tray, after Lou rolls a die borrowed from Zac, which he got from Brennan. This was a group effort, 12 nargons in the making.
I love how, when they find out about Bambi, Murph turns to Brennen to asks Bambi a question, and Brennen is instantly in character and improvised a little backstory.
I made a npc named Deloris kinda based around Bambi with the won a shit ton in a dimensional roulette but I made her a bard with her beautiful smokers voice, she specializes in bagpipes but uses spells to play it while singing and likes to buy random stuff from the party but she just appears in random places and she just pops her head out “what cha got for meh” and buys their random stuff so they don’t end up getting too encumbered over the course of the campaign, especially since half the party has low strength/carrying capacity
This and the last episode were truly insane, I felt high just watching them because so many cool things were happening one after the other. The casino nat20 has the same energy as season 1 episode 14 when Fabian get's out of the video game. AND I just now realised that both of these happened in the 14th episode, this has to be destiny! In my sample size of 2, Lou always has an insane roll in the 14th episode.
In the Unsleeping City Season 1, episode 14, I don't think Lou had an insane roll. However, he did have one of the best story beats when he saved Pete's life after hesitating to save him.

The fact that whenever these roles happen one of the cast says the most cinematically appropriate thing just a second before.
Is this a sign for them to do speeches more? Maybe
I think that's because they're always setting up for a nat 20. They say those things before nat 1's too 😂

Lou commits to his characters so hard, that the dice tend to get swept up in his character's rhythm and support their character arc.
