I remember watching this episode in 1980 as a 9 year old kiss fan. It was a special episode for me and Im sure many Australians at the time with Kiss mania everywhere. I always loved tuning in every Tuesday night to watch this wonderful show. Thank you Laurie for uploading these. Both Don and Bert will always be remembered as 2 of the greats on Australian television during a time I consider the best years in so many ways.
I've been a loyal viewer of your Don Lane uploads since discovering your channel here but this specific show just hits differently following Bert's death this past weekend and it's a great choice in honoring an unforgettable duo on television. May god rest his soul.
Notice Ace & Don connect when they realize their from the same neighbourhood in The Bronx. Gene immediately moves to the audience to steal the show. I didn't notice this as a 12 year old watching the show that night but as an adult I see Gene's behaviour in a totally new light. What would have been really nice to see is Don sit down with Ace and chat about their childhood in New York. You can see by this they really connected well. But hey we can't rewind history.
I agree , I wished they had've stayed on Ace and Don's conversation, Ace seems to have a great fun personality , and Gene came across as an overbearing ogre.
I was 12 in 1980 and was at the very first Kiss concert in Australia at the Perth Entertainment Centre with my best mate. I guess you could get away with that back in November 1980. No one cared in those days. And it was true; two songs in and everyone left their seats and crowded down by the stage. My mate wanted to go but my survival instinct kicked in and told him we are staying right here. And I never told my mum that I couldn't hear for two days afterwards. My ears were ringing bad...
He would have had a wonderful life with family and wife bert newton rip it's great a state funeral he would have met wonderful people I like him thankyou for sharing your talent to the world 🌷🙏
35:30. Love Pam Ayers , I could listen to her Irish lilt all day. I guess mostly Gen X are commenting, as sadly, many of the Boomers who made this gem of a show possible have passed away. Thank you Boomers for the great movies , music and entertainment. - Signed Gen X.
