You are doing such an excellent job with your channel. Few, if any, channels have such a variety of content. New, old, 4x4, custom, and even a Mustang II.
Dave, really great channel. Just started watching recently. Keep the unexpected coming. Really didn’t expect the late model on here, was a cool surprise. Nothing better than seeing you run mom’s spaghetti in Moab, though.
I liked the Bronco content. On the ratchet wrenches, i bought the flex head first, they loosen up a ton to where they just flop around, so i bought the fixed end ones and hardly use the flex head ones now. There's a time and place for both.
As an owner of a '22 Everglades with the bilstine stock shocks, I'm jealous. The stock shocks handle great on the road but it's very firm and the bumps are rough. I may have to consider an upgrade.
I daily drive a 22 Bronco Base 2 door manual and it's amazing in its stock form. This just makes it better. Love my 6 gen bronco and will keep these in mind for the future. Thanks for filming it for us!
Watching this video hurts. You do these quick. Just put bilstiens with the original springs in my yoter and it took forever. 2+ hours on the driver front. Helps to have the right tools and some experience lol
I"m a huge fan of 1st and 2nd gen Broncos. I own a 2nd gen. I like these new ones as a fun daily driver and trail truck, but they went so crazy in price, and had enough issues, that I'm not as sure about them now. A two door with the 7 speed is what I would go for, but it's a bummer you can't get the manual with the V6.
Heck yeah! Great work! Iphone really shined there! Especially those ending shots! I enjoyed seeing what one of these Broncos looked like up underneath. Great tips as always too!
It’s pretty nice (weird?) seeing you work on a newer rig with bolt on parts. This is a little more familiar territory for me with my zero fab skills. I enjoyed the change of pace. Having to drop a gas tank to install some CA’s would have frustrated me beyond belief though.
Watching this makes me appreciate how Jeep tries to make Jeeps easier to modify. You don't have to pull the fuel tank for instance to get to a control arm bolt. Bronco's are cool rigs, but they lacked foresight when it comes to make them modifiable. Same goes for trying to put a winch on the front, its a major pain and the bumper mounts like to rip off the frame. Great video though! And this kit looks super complete and well done.
Ya, but keep has had years of trial and error working with basically the same platform. Give Ford 10+ years to perfect a standard. And work out the bugs. But, the aftermarket support is gaining fast!
@@aaronnorlund4484 Oh, for sure. Jeep having built vehicles non-stop for 75 years has certainly made it easier for them to know what works and what doesn't. But Ford did buy a fleet of Jeeps when they were developing the Bronco. The issue is that there are a lot of engineering choices that Ford made that go directly against making it easy to modify the vehicle. I feel its a differences in mindsets between Ford and Jeep. And yes, the Bronco's aftermarket support is getting much better. And several companies have stepped up to resolve the design issues (Steering, bumper mounts, etc). There is a lot to like about the Bronco. And having more competition only makes things better for all of us.
Fun little video. Cool to see you at work, pretty much what you love to do. Do you ever get to do any custom work there, or is it pretty much bolt on products? Just curious.
I am curious how well Broncos will hold up with 37-inch tires. Like so many things... it depends, I guess. The Jeeps seem to be pretty good on 37's with the Dana 44s. Your work has some nice equipment. Where do I sign up! 😮
This is the only "real world, non manufacture" video I've been able to find. I want to buy these but I heard you have to grind away part of your fuel tank skid plate and there are CV angle issues at full droop. If anyone has any actual data on these please share.
I just installed it. Seems like they have a the bugs worked out. I didn’t see any need for grinding parts or limiting down travel. If you have questions I would call tech support at falcon shocks or teraflex suspension. They are good folks
@@thedirtheadshed In your test drive video what setting did you have it on? I'm looking for the plush ride 'soft' as the factory Bilstein's are terrible. Have you set it to the softest setting yet?
Good shocks make a big difference. Now to address those tie rods. A clevis steering kit would be the logical next step. That rear panhard also looks like it could use some attention.
@@thedirtheadshed For sure. I was looking at aftermarket Bronco racks this morning. They get pretty pricey. I think I saw a complete aftermarket one with improved parts for $4500. If it was mine I would still do clevis style tie rods, however. The stock tie rods will bend with 37" tires, but you could probably get away with the stock rack for a while. Maybe some bolt on parts to the rack is all that is needed. Beyond that you might as well just put tons under it. You need to know what the goals are.
