@@howjaneylearned My pleasure!! I started learning Russian in the first half or 2021, and since then tried many different things, many of which I abandoned.
But, to sum it up, first I learnt the alphabet. Then, about pronunciation and reading rules. Then, an introduction to grammar (mainly typical verb endings for the different pronouns and an intro to cases). And finally, my current and recent approach consist of applying the method of a woman who went by the name 《Cure Dolly》 (that's the name of the YT channel).
She used to call her method the 《Organic Method》, and although she originally designed it for Japanese, I think it's applicable to any language. It basically consists of immersing from an early stage, after you've learned the alphabet and basics of grammar.
So, as immersion material I use 《Natalya, a Russian teacher》's YT video vlogs. I try to break down every sentence as much as my grammar knowledge allows me, looking up new words as I go, and then I play the sound of the video as an mp3 file on my free time, trying to understand as much as I can. At the same time, I keep learning about different grammar concepts, using your channel (which I discovered just recently btw) as the main reference.

Haha, but seriously, it's not for the weak. But AT LEAST Russian is organized. English has ZERO logic or organization.
@@howjaneylearned I feel like that's what everyone thinks about their own language haha be it German, English, Chinese or whatever other language you want to name. I guess our lack of understanding of our own language makes it seem that much more complicated to us. I honestly think that English is pretty logical as far as languages go and the spelling really isn't that hard. Buut that's just me I guess lol
By the way, if I'm not mistaken learning Belorussian was one of your New Year's resolutions. How's your progress?

Fucking love it. The simple way you just broke that down and the guy fawkes. Nothing as fun as hacking a language system. Damn my life must suck. Plus I'm pumped to learn language from an American for once. Even if she thinks Washington D.C. is 'southern'. Get into the hills in North Carolina where some peoples only transportation is their 2 donkeys tied to a homemade cart with woven grass, then a Chinese lady -- at what passes for a gas station -- has a southern accent so thick no normal American can understand her.... Then you'll hear that squeal like a pig banjo music and know you're in for a good old fashion southern American adventure.
Hurray, I can't wait to watch your video on Пачка Сигарет!!! I have translated it myself before, but I know it will be so helpful to watch yours. And you are so right about how important music is to learning grammar and conjugations. I learned the word скрипят from the song Пролетаю над Россией and I don't know all the conjugations, but I realized just now that since the они form ends in я, it's second conjugation. That was a fun lightbulb moment! Your videos are already helping me fill in the gaps in my knowledge. When I went back to college 3 years ago and started formally learning Russian, my first professor allowed me to skip the first level of Russian because I was already conversational. I have regretted that decision because I didn't learn some very basic things. I'm seriously so excited to find your channel to help me along in my journey! :)
А почему всего 4 глагола? Если я правильно понял, то это про мнемоническое правило из средней школы: «Гнать, держать, смотреть и видеть, Дышать, слышать, ненавидеть, И обидеть, и терпеть, и зависеть, и вертеть. Вы запомните, друзья, их на «е» спрягать нельзя»

В далком 92-м году, когда мне было 4 года, вместо детского сада родители водили меня на занятия по английскому языку. Эти занятия проводила девушка у себя дома, собирала группу по 6 - 8 детей и учила нас на основе английских учебников и мультфильма "Muzzy in Gondoland". К чему это я: Вы напоминаете мне её, только из параллельной вселенной, которая сидит дома в Америке и преподаёт русский язык😄

@@howjaneylearned до школы дети говорят не зная грамматики. Это в школе учат падежи и спряжения. А потом забываем опять все эти правила. Хотя и говорим более менее правильно... Правильно было написать "более-менее" через дэфис... ой через дефис

Finally, somebody will tell me what is the future form of the verb "победить" in the first person singular position: "Я побе...." :)

@@howjaneylearned В современном русском глагол 'победить' в первом лице единственного числа не имеет формы будущего времени. Архаичное "ПОБЕЖДУ", также как "ПОВРЕЖДУ", "НАСАЖДУ" не используется. Используются конструкции Я ОДЕРЖУ ПОБЕДУ, Я БУДУ ПОБЕДИТЕЛЕМ, ПОБЕДА БУДЕТ ЗА МНОЙ и тому подобное...
Со словами УБЕЖДАТЬ/УБЕДИТЬ as to convince e. g. то же самое...Archaic УБЕЖДУ отмерло века тому назад...

They didn't want to encourage individualism in the language. Therefore if anyone is going to conquer, it's going to be "we".

What a FANTASTIC thumbnail 🤯 UA-cam served it up to me, and I just couldn't walk past it! So, help me understand your question for native speakers: certainly you're not asking us to name the 4 _exceptions_ (of which there are 11), right? It almost sounds like you are saying there are 4 verbs that are neither the 1st conjugation, _nor_ the 2nd, so... _completely irregular_ verbs? Aren't there FIVE of those: бежать, быть, дать, есть, хотеть? 🤷♀ Thank you for making the study of Russian FUN!!

Существуют ещё разноспрягаемые глаголы, в спряжении которых присутствуют как окончания первого спряжения, так и окончания второго: это глаголы "бежать", "хотеть", "дать" с их производными (глаголами с тем же корнем, но с добавлением всяческих приставок, по типу: бежать, вбежать, выбежать, добежать, избежать, забежать, убежать, прибежать, перебежать, побежать, обежать, пробежать, пробежаться, отбежать, сбежать, сбежаться;
хотеть, хотеться, захотеть, захотеться, перехотеть, перехотеться, расхотеть, расхотеться; создать), а также "надоесть" и "чтить".
jajaja me sirvió mucho el video, ahora se como escribir los otros verbos, sin embargo, es necesario de igual manera conocer los verbos siempre con el pronombre personal я sino pues.. se hace muy difícil. Sin duda un hack muy útil para las personas que ya tienen conocimiento con los verbos, yo que aún estoy aprendiendo me sirvió mucho. 2:25 "Я писа́ю сочинение" тогда уж, если словообразование идет от слова "писа́ть". А так получается не вопрос неправильного спряжения, ибо для "пи́сать" оно правильное)

Есть! Yes! That’s on of the four. Make a burger conjugation and notice how the inside of the burger is all over the place. Смочь, is still considered a first conjugation verb (same vowel all through the the burger inside) but it DOES violate one of the rules for 1st conjugation verbs regarding consonant mutations.
You have forgotten FIFTH word - чтить. А вообще интересно "есть" это кушать\быть, бегать\бежать etc.

Сразу знала глаголы "хотеть" и "есть." На следушуий день, вспомнила "дать." Тогда Google мне помогал! Кстати, это гениальнar идея. Спасибо большое!

Уменьшительное, т.е. деминутив..... Само имя - производное от греческого имени Иоанна (женский вариант имени Иоанн - Иван - Ян- Джон-Иоганн и т.д.), в русской версии наиболее соотв. Яна, но сама Дженни предпочитает (видимо) французскую версию, также распространенную в русском - Жанна.

@@OksanaFromRussia Ну так же деминутив ! Русский аналог - "Яночка" =) Ну, или в других славянских странах есть другой вариант- "Иванка ".... НО "Яночка" все-таки более благозвучно звучит, с моей сугубо личной т.з.

@@howjaneylearned А "Брат 2" смотрели? Если нет, то обязательно стоит посмотреть, фильм во многом пророческий и поможет многое понять из сегодняшних событий. К тому же русские часто приводят цитаты из него и чтобы понимать о чем речь, его надо посмотреть и понять.

Пишу /письмо, поэму и т. д./ writing from to write - писать which has a homophone with other stressed syllable in it...
Yes, that's why I say that it's a mistake that learners often make and get embarrassed about. They think that they can look at the infinitive of the verb and just assume how it gets conjugated.
@@olegryabkov2339 Увы, ты инглиш на слух не воспринимаешь.... Дженни и описывает такое как именно ошибку - в контексте темы, которую она и объясняет в этом ролике своим студентам. Ну и вообще - на уровне Дженни такие "ошибки" в русском просто НЕВОЗМОЖНЫ априори. Сам подумай - как человек с такой фонетикой и с таким уровнем в русском языке может делать такие "ошибки" ? НОНСЕНС !
